William Lennox is a human in the Movie continuity family.

He has a wife and a newborn daughter back home.

Movie Lennox myladies

WTF is wrong with my computer?!?! Damn PCs.

Returning to SOCCENT after a mission behind enemy lines, Lennox's men discussed what they were going to do once they got home to the States. As usual, Fig talked about his mom's cooking in Spanish, Epps commented that he'll never accept a dinner invitation to Fig's house and Donnelly reminisced about flat beer, cold hot dogs and baseball on weekends. When asked about what he wanted to do, Lennox — holding the rank of Captain at the time — replied that he only wanted to hold his baby girl for the first time, to which his men teased him for his sappy sentiment.

After their CV-22 Ospreys touched down, Lennox was writing a report when local boy Mahfouz visited him carrying a bag of water. Soon afterwards, he talked to his wife Sarah and their daughter on the satellite video phone. Lennox declared that their daughter was so cute that he just wanted to chew on her cheeks, and that they both made one good looking kid. To his delight, Sarah told him their girl has his laugh, though he wondered if she had merely farted. Around the same time as a mysterious MH-53 Pave Low helicopter had landed on the base, his connection to Sarah became distorted, and he tried to tell her that he'd be home soon as the transmission was cut.

Suddenly, the base was under attack as the helicopter somehow transformed into a giant walking weapons platform. Leading his men and the boy Mahfouz, they witnessed Epps nearly being crushed by the weapons platform before Fig saved him by firing a sabot from his grenade launcher into the 'chest' of the weapon. With Epps in tow, Lennox's unit escaped as the robot laid waste to SOCCENT, leaving no survivors.

Movie Lennox Scorponoktail

Yeah, real good work watching your commander's back, all you guys standin' in the background.

The next morning, after making their way through the desert, the men discussed the past night's events, with Epps expressing his belief that the weapon, whatever it was, looked right back at him as he was taking its photograph. Lennox determined that no matter what, they had to get the information back to the Pentagon, and asked Mahfouz to lead them to his village where they could find a telephone line. Unknown to them, a second robot, a mechanical scorpion, was listening to their conversation and stalking them. As they neared the outskirts of the village, a metal spiked tail rose out of the sand and was about to kill Lennox when Epps fired at it, saving his life. Unfortunately, the giant scorpion killed top kick Donnelly and the men ran for their lives to the relative cover of the village.

Ordering the men to form a defensive perimeter, Lennox followed Mahfouz to his father Akram's house, the latter of whom provided him with a cell phone. As the others fought off Scorponok, Lennox attempted to call for help from the Pentagon, but had more than a little trouble with the operator who demanded a credit card despite the life-and-death situation he was in. After successfully searching for Epps's credit card in one of the latter's many back pockets, Lennox successfully contacted the Pentagon, but not before the operator tried to get him to sign onto a Premium Plus World Service Gold Package. He'll never use that company again.

10: LEFT CHEEK! 20: GOTO 10

The Pentagon sent in two A-10 Thunderbolt IIs of Strike Package Bravo. Lennox ordered the men to light up the target for the Air Force' radars to lock on and fire upon. Unfortunately, the A-10s did no appreciable damage to the metal scorpion, with Epps expressing disbelief that it could still be alive. With the call of "Bring the rain!", Lennox suggested the biggest barrels the Air Force had: the 105 millimeter cannons of an AC-130 Spectre gunship. The gunship pounded Scorponok with its cannons, heavily damaging it. As the dust settled, the scorpion got up and dove into the sand, but not before leaving part of its damaged tail behind. Lennox and Epps ran to check on Fig, who had been struck by one of the scorpion's missiles.

En route back to the United States, the team studied the tail segment they salvaged from the battle scene. An analyst observed that it seemed to be covered in a Self-regenerating molecular armor. Lennox pointed out where a sabot round had burned right through. Turning to Epps's expertise, he asked if it was correct that sabot rounds had a 6000 degree magnesium burn, which Epps said was true. As Lennox ordered Epps to tell command to load sabot rounds on all their gunships, the tail suddenly came to life and narrowly missed impaling them. Epps angrily berated the analyst for telling them it was dead; Lennox ordered them to strap the tail down, while concluding that the technology behind it was 'wicked'. Touching down at Nellis Air Force Base, Lennox's men had barely walked off the plane when mysterious government agents pulled up in black SUVs and ordered the Rangers to come with them.

After arriving at Hoover Dam, Lennox and his unit met with Secretary of Defense John Keller, and were taken to see N.B.E.-1. After the Iceman began to thaw, Lennox and his unit headed for the armory, where they were having a special on forty mm sabot rounds.

When Sam Witwicky asked Agent Simmons to free a good robot, Simmons doesn't listen, until Lennox got him to cooperate by putting a gun to his chest, resulting in a Mexican standoff between his unit and Sector Seven. Simmons ordered him to release him, but Lennox told Simmons that he and his men didn't take orders from people who didn't exist. They won the standoff (because he would only count to three before shooting, Simmons would count to five, and losing really isn't an option for those guys). Lennox and his men subsequently escorted Sam and the car to Mission City, meeting the other allied robots en route.

Movie Lennox Sam takethecube

Give me the girl and no one has to die here.

After arriving in Mission City, they were attacked by a fighter jet which a friendly truck called "Starscream". Soon afterwards, a tank started shelling them, until the good robots totally triple teamed it. When Megatron arrived, the good robots told the soldiers to fall back, and seeing the Pontiac trying to cover the retreat of his men, Lennox tried to tell the good robot to fall back as well, but it was too late. Lennox and his men engaged the tank when it got back up, but it just wouldn't die, and things were complicated further when the helicopter that destroyed SOCCENT Forward Operating Base showed up. Telling Sam to take the All Spark to a building to be evacuated, Lennox and his team engaged the tank, which began to overpower them. It was only with the help of the Camaro and some girl that they were able to kill the robot.

Later, Lennox and his men went to assist the big truck in his fight with Megatron. During the battle, that helicopter went to help his boss. Lennox totally killed it dead by the time-honored method of:

  • Getting on a motorcycle.
  • sliding off the motorcycle as it slams into the enemy.
  • Sliding under his opponent.
  • Shooting them in the gearbox with sabot rounds until they are dead.
  • Going "Yahhhh!", "ah-HA HA!", or another exclamation of success.
Movie LennoxFamily

It's the circle of liiiife!

His final action in the battle of Mission City was to shoot a sabot round in the chest of Megatron, offering an opening to Sam to ram the All Spark in his chest, thus allowing them victory.

After the deaths of the Decepticons, the Topkick named Ironhide gave him a ride home, where he was reunited with his wife and met his newborn daughter. Transformers

Revenge of the Fallen film[]

William Lennox in Transformers- Revenge of the Fallen (2)

Woo I'm back!

Lennox has since been promoted to the rank of Major, and is now an important officer in N.E.S.T.. He arrives in Shanghai to fight Demolishor and Sideways. Then, he introduces Director Galloway to the N.E.S.T. base, and is furious but nevertheless helpless when Galloway shuts down N.E.S.T. and deports the Autobots after Optimus Prime is killed by Megatron.

However, he receives coordinates to air-drop Optimus's corpse in Egypt from Sam, via Simmons. Despite being on orders to stand down, he trusts Sam enough that he decides to do it. He and the N.E.S.T. officers conduct a fake engine trouble with their C-17 planes in order to get Galloway to "parachute" out (Galloway pulls the chute while he is still in the plane due to Lennox tricked him).

During the battle in Egypt, he and Epps find Sam and Mikaela. The four are nearly cornered by Mixmaster, but Sam's friend Jetfire shows up, killing Mixmaster and Lennox's old enemy Scorponok. The group runs to safety, narrowly avoiding the Air Force bombardment. However. Sam rushes to Optimus's body and is seemingly killed by Megatron. Lennox tries but unsuccessfully to revive him with a medic. After Sam revives, Optimus is resurrected and the Decepticons defeated, Lennox and his men go to greet and congratulate Seymour Simmons and Leo Spitz. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Dark of the Moon film[]

Look, I'm dressed as a civi!

Lennox, now a Lieutenant Colonel, meets with Alexi Voskhod who reveals to him a possible alien artifact at Chenobyl. Lennox leads a team there and is surprised to find that the artifact is near a box with a symbol from the Soviet space program on it. Before Lennox can retrieve the artifact, Shockwave attacks with his Driller and gets it. Optimus, using a sword retrievs the mysterious item on the surface and Shockwave and the Driller retreat. Lennox wonders what the artifact is and Optimus is shocked to see it is an engine part from a long-lost Autobot ship.

At NEST, Lennox is confronted by Charlotte Mearing who angrily demands an explanation of the Autobots' activities for dismantling a secret nuclear facility in the Middle East. Lennox tries to explain that the Autobots snuck out on their own, but Mearing isn't happy with his explanation. Lennox watches as Optimus angrily confronts Mearing and listens to Buzz Aldrin's explanation of what the Apollo program really was for.

Got my old uniform back.

When Sam shows up at NEST, Lennox listens to his explanation of his attack by Laserbeak and the death of Jerry Wang and is surprised when Sam mentions the dark side of the moon. Lennox backs Sam up when Mearing is angry about Sam's girlfriend being there, but tries to warn him to back off when he challenges Mearing which Sam doesn't listen. Lennox witnesses the revival of Sentinel Prime with the Matrix of Leadership and orders his men to stand down when Sentinel is actuality hostile.

When Sam, Bumblebee, Dino, Sideswipe, Sentinel and Ironhide return to their base after having defeated the Dreads, Lennox can only watch in horror as Sentinel reveals his true colors and murders Ironhide. Lennox prevents his men from attacking Sentinel, knowing they are outmatched by him as he decimates the NEST base and retrieves the space bridge pillars. Many NEST soldiers were killed by Sentinel when he blasts his gun at them. Lennox orders Seymour Simmons to set an emergency message and to evacuate any surviving soldiers just after Ironhide was killed. When the Autobots are expelled from Earth, Lennox isn't happy and is horrified by their apparent deaths.

When the battle of Chicago begins, Lennox and his men are at Grissom Air Force Base, not far away while waiting to be deployed. Lennox is shocked that Sam went into Chicago when Simmons informs everyone of that fact. After receiving a transmission from Sam, Carly and Epps via a downed UAV explaining about Sentinel's plans, Lennox quickly deploys to Chicago to help, offering his men a chance for not to go though with no one takes it.

NEST flies into Chicago in Ospreys and come under attack from Starscream. They leave the Ospreys and wing-suit in, but a few more members of Lennox's men are killed by Decepticon fighters before they safely land.

Lennox leads his men to where they find Carly who tells them that Sam was attacking his old enemy Starscream. Lennox is confused by Sam while he was dangling from a failing Starscream and attacks him, distracting him and allowing Sam to regroup and jam a boom stick in Starscream's optic eye. Lennox grabs Sam and cut him free when he's near the ground, but both are swung all over the place by Starscream before Lennox finally cuts them free. The two are saved from a big fall by Bumblebee as Sam's boom stick detonates, decapitating and killing Starscream. Both Lennox and Sam are relieved that Starscream is finally dead and that they are alive.

Lennox and his men hook up with the Navy SEALS and Epps' team near a bridge, but are unable to cross it because the Decepticons opened all the bridges in the city. Thanks to Simmons and Dutch, the bridge is lowered and they are able to cross to the other side of the river.

On the other side of the river, Lennox, Epps and their teams go into a building where Lennox and his men parachute down on Shockwave and a bunch of Decepticons as Epps and his men act as snipers. Using Que's boom sticks, Lennox and his men cripple several Decepticons and kill a few as they battle Shockwave. Optimus shows up and finishes off the crippled Decepticons and kills Shockwave before using Shockwave's cannon to blast the Control Pillar from the building its on, deactivating the space bridge. Lennox and his men help the Autobots battle Sentinel, but are forced to turn their attention to incoming Decepticon fighters, helping to guide in missiles using laser designators.

After Optimus kills Megatron and Sentinel while Bumblebee destroys the Control Pillar and Cybertron, Lennox hooks up with the surviving Autobots and humans then draws Sam's attention to Carly. Dark of the Moon

Movie Figueroa cutscene

By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Warvan, you shall be avenged!

  • A later scene where Lennox comforts the dying Figueroa was cut from the theatrical release of the film, but briefly seen in the December 2006 trailer. The scene survived in both the novelization and the children's novelization where (despite many changes made to tone down descriptions of violence against robots) he still died. Go fig!
  • Early scripts give Lennox's rank as Sergeant.
  • Lennox is given the nickname "Wild Bill" in the novelization. Whether this was a deliberate reference to the G.I.Joe character remains unknown.
  • Josh Duhamel's left foot was injured by a piece of fake shrapnel during filming.[1]
Movie ScreenBattles Sector7figures

Hey! It's me! Lennox!

  • The Capture of Bumblebee set from the "Screen Battles" packs features what appear to be two Sector Seven soldiers, but one of them is obviously Lennox painted in Sector Seven colors.
  • He sure has a habit of leading battles into densely populated areas: The village in Qatar, Mission City, and the Egyptian village. What kind of commanding soldier is he?!
  • He also seems to have a habit of following commands from Sam and taking Sam's lead, such as when he backed up Sam in releasing Bumblebee and coming to Egypt on just Sam's say-so. Guess it's true what they say, "Soldiers just follow orders" (Although this could be interpreted as simply him recognizing Sam's superior understanding of the Autobots).

  1. Duhamel made fun of his minor injury during the Second Life Virtual Press Conference (the shrapnel was made of cork and it cut his pinky) explaining that he wasn't allowed to do his own stunts.
