That's my speed and direction.
Velocity, or Lotty to her friends, only recently passed her medical exams and is fairly new to this whole "cosmic adventure" thing. Having served on both the Vis Vitalis and now the Lost Light has given her a lot of practical experience, however; she's enthusiastic, skilled, and has the right bedside manner. With the various improbable phenomenon the crew of the Lost Light face on a regular basis, she's also had to learn a lot of new skills on the job.
As a Camien, Velocity missed the Great War entirely; as such, she has no preconceptions when she meets former Decepticons like Megatron. Don't mistake this cheery attitude for a weakness, however: she may be only a recent Autobot recruit, but her well-developed moral sense means she won't stand for injustices. And, no matter how difficult her quests get, she has no regrets about embarking on this adventure.
But let's be clear about one thing: even after all that's happened—even bearing in mind what's about to happen—I'm not sorry I came aboard. The last few months have been revelatory. That's what I'd like it to say on my spark chamber: "no regrets."

- First appearance: More Than Meets The Eye #41
Velocity was forged on the Cybertronian colony of Caminus. In her early years, she lived in a sorority with other Transformers, including Windblade, Firestar The Frail Gaze and the Cybertronian immigrant Anode. Like most Camiens, she initially chose to study the performing arts, A World Misplaced but after befriending the shy engineer Nautica and bonding over their shared dislike of Firestar, Velocity eventually came to realize that her true talents lay in medicine. An Axe to Break the Ice Velocity enrolled in a medical program, but repeatedly struggled with her exams; The Sensuous Frame worse still, her culture's focus on the performing arts as worthy left Velocity believing that her medical studies weren't as worthwhile. The Frail Gaze
During her tutelage, Velocity worked at the obstetric clinic known as the Lighthouse alongside Anode; when the latter's overconfidence led her to fail a delicate operation, she fled the planet in shame and falsified evidence to make it seem as though she'd stolen a batch of sentio metallico. Unaware of the deception, Velocity believed that Anode had betrayed her. A World Misplaced Eventually, Velocity left Caminus entirely to study at a nearby Mederi center. An Axe to Break the Ice
After finally passing her exams on the tenth try, Velocity joined Firestar and many of her former classmates The Sensuous Frame to find Windblade, who had left Caminus several months earlier on a mission of her own. Their search brought them to the planet Marasma, The Frail Gaze inadvertently picking up an infestation of personality ticks in the process. The Sensuous Frame The ticks killed their pilot, Vertex, and when their pilotless ship crashed into an asteroid they were rescued by the Vis Vitalis, joining Thunderclash's crew of Autobots.
served as an extra medic for the ailing war hero, charting his deteriorating health as he carved out a map to Cyberutopia on a wall before his strength gave out. When one of the personality ticks broke cover to heal Thunderclash—so that the aliens could continue feeding on his limitless charisma—Velocity and the other crewmembers remembered the incident as a visit from a "passing medic." The Sensuous FrameThunderclash fell into a fatal coma, and when the Vis Vitalis docked with the Lost Light, Velocity eschewed the pre-wake dance party in favor of bringing First Aid and Minimus Ambus up to speed with what had happened to Thunderclash. First Aid soon discovered that Thunderclash shouldn't be dying, as his war wound, the thing that was supposed to be killing him, had healed... he was dying from something else. Unable to remember what had happened, Velocity was only able to remember the "medic" as "normal."
The group then realized that Thunderclash was manipulating the readouts of the medical machines to send a warning to the crew. Before they could make sense of it, a knock from Thunderclash's trailer interrupted them The Frail Gaze and they were besieged by the personality ticks. Only a revived Thunderclash allowed them to escape and take refuge with some others... including Nautica, who had left Caminus with Windblade, and congratulated "Lotty" on passing her exams. Velocity then helped Nightbeat identify their opponents as personality ticks and work out a plan on stopping them, but the day was saved when a different 'bot hit on the same solution and used it to save the day. Afterwards, Firestar successfully encouraged Velocity to join the Lost Light instead of returning home, claiming that she should stay behind to "help Nautica," but really to give her a place to hone her newly acquired medical skills. The Frail Gaze
Velocity had only just unpacked when First Aid, the ship's current chief medic had to leave on orders from Optimus Prime. His departure was interrupted when Skidsburst in carrying Swerve's comatose body. The two medics found no immediate injuries, but they were unable to operate on him without knowing the exact cause of his illness. After the rest of the crew found and retrieved his consciousness from "Swearth," Velocity performed her first operation, discovering that his problems stemmed from a fatal rust infection. First Aid congratulated her and left her a 'phone' to call in case she ever did need help.
While he was flying away, First Aid realised something important and ordered her to operate on Swerve's shoulder again; his suspicions were correct, as Swerve had contracted the initial rust infection from a bullet fired by the Autobot spy "Agent 113." Velocity found a data slug in bullet form The One Where They Go to Earththat contained a message from that, among other things, revealed the planet where the supposedly mythical "Necrobot" lived. Velocity was one of the dozen crew members eager to learn more about Censere and went with her friend Nautica (and a recovered Swerve) to check it out. When the Necrobot came out to meet them though, Velocity stood far away while Nautica got close. The Not Knowing
At some point after joining the crew of the Lost Light, Velocity was one of the crewmembers interviewed by Getaway to see if she would stand with them when Getaway launched a mutiny against Megatron. Velocity, having only ever known him as an Autobot, was glad to see him happy and turned down the proposition. She was subsequently made to forget the encounter through Getaway's nudge gun. How Bright Their Frail Deeds Filling in the Blanks
Some time after, Velocity was startled in her lab to see Whirl's holomatter avatar float through. That was part of an incident that saw Cyclonus and Tailgate hospitalised The Lopsided Triangle and the latter suffer a debilitating spark spasm that shot an energy wave through the ship. Velocity was able to stabilize Tailgate while keeping an eye on the still-damaged Cyclonus (who refused to repair his bodywork), but while she kept Tailgate stable she couldn't get him to wake up. Speak, Memory: Part 1Following Sunder's attack, Tailgate did wake up, demonstrating newfound super strength. Velocity determined that his Sparkhad been made susceptibtle to mutation by exposure to the ship's quantum radiation; acute stress-related trauma had caused Tailgate "to evolve" into a new breed of outlier. Speak, Memory! (Part 2)
Soon after the incident, Powerflash and Strafe came to her complaining of sudden burnout. She put it down to bad engex, unaware that this was a side effect of Tailgate's rapid mutation. At Close of Day That was normal compared to Whirl being infected by scraplets disguised as a protoform! She had to fix him up and explain how he'd almost died at the hands of something he thought loved him, but knowing that made Whirl proud of the pests! Silent Light
When a time fissure opened in Swerve's, allowing people to look back at departed crew members, Velocity (and the medical diagnostic drone) chose to look back at her predecessors, First Aid and the deceased Ambulon. Back in the present, she and Thunderclash had a video chat with Firestar. No Guns, No Swords, No Briefcases
On the day that Getaway launched his mutiny, Velocity gave Megatron a checkup after the ex-Decepticon suffered a vivid hallucination; unbeknownst to either, this was caused by the mutineers, who used a psychic lure to trick the loyalists into leaving the ship. Subsequent uses of the Necrobot's weapon caused all of the afflicted individuals, including Megatron and Rodimus to follow the signal to its source. Velocity went with them and was talked by Mainframe into taking Whirl with her. Once they'd returned to the Necrobot's planet, their ship was destroyed, the loyalists were chased inside the Necrobot's fortress by the Decepticon Justice Division, and informed by Getaway of exactly what had happened. How Bright Their Frail Deeds Before the DJD could block their transmissions, Velocity attempted to contact First Aid through the phone he had given her, and in doing so, inadvertently sent a distress signal through to Ratchet, who had given First Aid the phone in the first place. Your Fierce Tears
With the DJD preparing to attack at sundown, Velocity threw herself into her work so she wouldn't have time to think about the threat. At Close of Day Seeing that the Necrobot's dead body had crumbled to dust, Velocity investigated and found a key in his remains. Velocity, Nautica and Swerve scoured the base for what it might open, and discovered a locked room filled with what appeared to be hibernating organics in stasis pods. Returning to the main group with news of their discovery, she listened to Brainstorm's logical reasons to run away anyway and Megatron's emotional speech to stay and protect the sleepers; Velocity, like the other Autobots, chose to stay. The Sun in Flight
When Ratchet and Drift arrived in response to Velocity's distress call, she was confused; as it turned out, the phone she'd been given was a direct line to Ratchet, and her confused description of the old medic as a grumpy old git didn't do much to ingratiate her. Your Fierce Tears Ratchet continued to disappoint her, as she found his brusque nature and overconfidence grating. When he started reading her updates on what he'd missed, she snapped that she assumed it'd be after he'd finished patching up Megatron instead of during. To her dismay, he then spotted something she'd missed: Powerflash and Strafe's ill-effects earlier were what happens to Transformers given an artificial boost, and it indicated they'd been given such a boost by Tailgate's spark. Drift was able to establish a broadcast so that the crew could transmit their goodbyes and provide burial instructions. Velocity, forced to properly think about her imminent death by the conversation, almost doubled over. At Close of Day In the end, she broadcast that she had no regrets and wanted that put on her spark casing, and for her body to be recycled. How Bright Their Frail Deeds Following this, Nautica called her and four others in for, to her delight, the Amica Enduraceremony. Velocity was invited into Nautica's spark for her determination, and agreed. At Close of Day surprise, i'm a car As the Autobots prepared to go out and make a last stand against the DJD and their allies, Tailgate's super-strength caused Velocity to have an idea: if they could artificially induce another spark spasm, the subsequent burst would temporarily mutate them all into super-strong outliers. Thanks to Skids' sacrifice, his mutated spark cased them all to temporarily gain similar super-strength, Rage, Rage and thus empowered, they charged to meet their foes head-on. At Close of Day While the Autobots were able to hold the line against the Decepticons for a time, the upgrade wore off and the Autobots were forced into a retreat.Rage, Rage
Back inside the fortress, Velocity watched as Megatron took up arms once more and battled the DJD, expressing her confusion at the fact that the members of the Division didn't use their real names. The converstion was interrupted when the "organics" the Necrobot had been protecting awoke... and revealed themselves as the "Disappeared," Transformers that the time travelling Necrobot had plucked from across history for safekeeping. Velocity's insistence that someone go out and rescue Megatron from the explosive deluge of antimatter that he had created prompted Rodimus to use the Necrobot's "time case" to do so.
With the Autobots safe at last, Velocity and Ratchet performed checkups on the newly arrived Transformers... until a geobomb, courtesy of the Galactic Council, impacted the planet as part of a last-ditch solution to getting rid of Megatron, Do Not Go Gentle shunting the planet into a parallel universe. Like the other Autobots on the surface, Velocity was unaware of this, having been checking each of the Disappeared for symptoms of timesickness Some Other Cybertron while administering the Lost Light crew with mood suppressants to help cope with Skids' death. Anomie When Anode, one of the Disappeared, heard Velocity's name, she tried to escape, unwilling to fess up to her mistakes on Caminus. Some Other Cybertron
When Velocity realized that Anode was among the Disappeared, she immediately attempted to arrest Anode for her supposed theft, producing a "snowflake" of widowed metal that Anode had stolen and telling her that they needed to talk. Anomie After completing a checkup on Anode—and learning that Anode was innocent, and had merely fabricated the crime as a pretense to leave—Velocity excused herself to administer another round of suppressants. A World Misplaced
Some time later, Velocity and Kaput were repairing Fangry after the Decepticon's run-in with Tailgate when an emotional Anode burst in, searching for Lug. Their confusion over Lug's identity led Anode to realize that she had been hallucinating her dead friend as a symptom of the timesickness. A World Misplaced Together with Nautica, the Autobots took Anode to the "spark flower" containing what remained of Lug's spark. Realizing that the spark could be combined with her fragment of sentio metallico, Anode grabbed the flower and ran back to the Necrobot's fortress, intending to bring her friend back to life. This Machine Kills FascistsWith the Necroworld returned to its proper universe, Rodimus and several other Autobots, Velocity among them, prepared to strike out in search of the Lost Light, using Skip's dead body as a jury-rigged starship. As they worked, Velocity noted that it was odd that Megatron—who had stayed behind in the Functionist Universe—was no longer captain, prompting a crisis of conscience in Ultra Magnus. After Megatron
Three weeks later, Velocity's funerary message reached Cybertron, to Windblade's distress. How Bright Their Frail Deeds
To find the Lost Light, the crew travelled to Troja Major's Howling Town in the hopes of finding a map to Cyberutopia from Nautica's contact Agonizer. Anode, Velocity, Lug, and Nautica trawled the markets, and after running afoul of a Rust Giant, Nautica and Velocity were too happy to let Anode and Lug go off in search of a mysterious smell. Arriving at Agonizer's museum, Velocity quickly realized that Nautica had ulterior motives: she knew that Agonizer didn't have a map, but had come to inquire about another artifact associated with the Knights: the "Resus Cradle." Velocity grudgingly joined Nautica in her trip across the market to meet with Mengel, current owner of the Cradle, and revealed her plan to resurrect Skids from the salvaged brain module she'd been hiding under her eyepatch. An Axe to Break the Ice
Alarmed by Mengel's price for the resurrection and her suggestion that Nautica "sell her friendship," Velocity tried to talk her out of it, only to be rebuffed. Finally, Velocity admitted that Nautica probably resented her for coming up with the idea of the spark spasm in the first place; a fact that Nautica couldn't entirely deny, seeing this transaction as a way to "reboot" their friendship. As Mengel prepared to extract these emotions she was called away on urgent business. Moments later, Transformers associated with the Grand Architect attacked, and while Velocity tried to defend herself, it was Nautica who broke free of her restraints to save her friend. Velocity's mention of choice led her to realize that Skids had chosen to sacrifice himself... but when the pair met up with Anode, Lug, and their friend Wipe-Out, Velocity realized what had happened: Mengel's machine had extracted all the feelings Nautica had ever held for Skids. Chasing the Infinite
Back aboard Skip, the Autobots quickly began getting on one another's nerves in the ship's cramped confines. Tensions between Anode and Swerve led to a prank war, with Swerve roping Velocity into telling Anode that she'd found a second head growing out of Anode's rear. Following an accident with Cyclonus's sword, Velocity helped repair the injured Rewind while Cyclonus and Chromedome argued, chaos that only intensified when Ratchet's body began suffering aggressive depigmentation... and Skip's mass displacement wearing off, causing the ship to start shrinking around them. It was at that moment that Ten spoke up, ordering them all to follow his instructions. Sardines
Ten got the group to redirect Skip to the nearest Mederi facility, but in transit Skip's mass-displacement gave out and dumped everyone into space. The group suddenly awoke to find themselves in what appeared to be a transitional dimension to the Afterspark, believing to have died from exposure to super-compressed space. Metastasis Velocity and the others struggled to comprehend their new circumstances, The God War but ultimately accepted their fate and prepared to ascend into the Afterspark together. Velocity took a moment to compliment Swerve's heartfelt nature after he reassured the others of what was occurring. The entire scenario was soon proven to be a complex illusion created by the Mederi facility. Joined by the Scavengers, who had also wound up there, the group barely had time to process their ordeal before being set upon by a horde of sparkeaters- mutated from the rest of the Lost Light's crew! You Are Here
After a failed attempt to reason with the sparkeaters, Velocity and the others retreated. The group split up, with Velocity being part of the one that barricaded themselves in Mederi's Ward Zero to try and find a cure for the sparkeaters. A Dance Before Dying First Aid prescribed a blast of "concussive medicine", but it was unclear if it would harmful to the sleeping organics trapped in the room with them. The organic-hating Nickel triggered the blast anyway, which Velocity naively assumed was simply her having no choice as they would all die anyway. The concussive medicine managed to purge the sparkeater mutation and return their former crewmmates to normal. Getaway was also defeated and the Lost Light reclaimed, but the group again had no time to process as a massive rift in nearby space opened up. Lūstrāre
Velocity had to drag the frozen-in-terror Swerve away from the sight of the rift and they retreated back to the Lost Light. Once aboard, the ship was pulled through the rift into the Benzene Cluster, now populated by five duplicates of Cybertron. Touching down on one, the crew was quickly taken prisoner by the forces of the Grand Architect. Joined by Froid and Sunder in their holding cell, Froid explained that the multiple Cybertrons were an upscaled God Gun which opened a portal to the next universe over, out from which came Megatron flying point amongst a fleet of starships. Farsickness
After reassuring that he wasn't invading, Megatron directed everyone to the real threat, a massive planet-sized effigy of Primus, one that Chromedome recognized as the Functionist Universe's Cybertron granted a robot mode. When Megatron came to the rescue, Velocity was part of the group that managed to be pulled aboard the Last Light. She tended to the wounded Drift and was stunned when Megatron successfully treated him for a zero point affliction on the spot. After Megatron had caught everyone up on the Functionist Council's schemes, he revealed that "Primus" was still populated by the citizenry of Cybertron. The Return of the King After the rest of the group had managed to free themselves, and discover that Rung was the true Primus, everyone touched down on the last Cybertron for a group brainstorm, hitting on the idea of using twelve copies of the Matrix of Leadership to overload Cybertron's twelve hot spots to wipe out the Functionist Council in Vector Sigma. The Unremembering
Rung closed himself in his quarters and created the duplicate Matrices, at the cost of his own life. Velocity was chosen as one of those who could conceivably open a Matrix and was sent to the Eugenesis hot spot with Krok as her escort. At first, no one could open their Matrix while the Functionist troops surrounded them. Rodimus delivered a rousing speech that allowed everyone to open their Matrix, overloading Vector Sigma and killing the Functionists. Returning to the Lost Light everyone saw that Luna 1's hot spot had been reactivated by Cybertron shunting the energy wave, bearing a final "Don't Forget Me" from Rung. A Spark Among Embers
Velocity went on the "victory lap" aboard the Lost Light before the ship's decommissioning. After agreeing to another potential quantum duplication with the rest of the crew, she attended the Lost Light's farewell party in Swerve's. Afterwards, Velocity and Nautica met up with Chromia for a visit to Earth.
Far in the future, Velocity attended Ratchet's funeral.
And far away, in some distant corner of the multiverse, a quantum duplicate Lost Light materialized with Velocity on it, ready to set sail for an infinity of new adventures. How To Say Goodbye And Mean It: Part 2
Transformers vs. The Terminator[]
Velocity was one of the many dormant Autobots aboard the Ark. Bumblebee and Optimus Prime used Teletraan-I to reactivate Velocity alongside Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Arcee—the only Autobots undamaged by the battle between the Decepticons and the time-travelling T-800 that precipitated their awakening. Optimus and Velocity tracked the Decepticons to Oregon's west coast; once Bumblebee reported that he'd found the Decepticons trashing the Cyberdyne Systems factory in California, Optimus and Velocity joined their fellow Autobots and the Terminator in taking on the villains, unaware that the T-800 had already double-crossed them by remotely bombing the Ark. Enemy of My Enemy Part Three
The three Autobots took on the bulk of the Decepticon forces, and while Arcee battled Thundercracker and Skywarp, the other two Autobots worked together to incapacitate Skrapnel and Bombshell. The T-800 was left badly damaged after Starscream's crash, and although Velocity warned that she lacked the tools to repair him she nevertheless threw him to Arcee, who in turn tossed him directly into Megatron's spark chamber. The Terminator's sacrifice blew the Decepticon leader apart from the inside out; in the aftermath, the Autobots took custody of their Decepticon prisoners and said goodbye to Sarah Connor. When they arrived at the Ark, however, they learned of the Terminator's treachery; though Velocity struggled to process the loss Optimus suggested a truce between both sides until they could find a way home. Some time later, Sarah Connor had gotten a job at Skywatch and used her new connections to keep an eye on her Cybertronian friends, including Velocity. Enemy of My Enemy Part Four
