An untitled Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover film is in development at Paramount Pictures. It will be the eighth installment in the live-action film series, and will serve as a sequel to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

An eighth Transformers film was first announced by Stephen Davis, Hasbro’s executive vice president and chief content officer, at the MIP Junior Conference 2015.[1][2]
On February 15, 2022, Paramount Pictures officially announced Transformers: Rise of the Beasts would be the start of a new trilogy.[3]
On June 13, 2023, Steven Caple Jr. revealed he was in talks to direct the film.[4] Caple Jr. was later confirmed to not be returning.[5]
On April 11, 2024, the film was officially announced during Paramount's CinemaCon panel.[6]
On May 30, 2024, it was reported that Chris Hemsworth was in talks to star in the film.[7]
