Trent was at the lake, hanging out with his undoubtedly popular buddies when Sam Witwicky came along with his not so spankin' new car and weird, tree-climbing friend. When questioned, Sam said that they were there to climb a nearby tree. Trent remembered that Sam tried out for the football team the last year and failed. Sam countered, saying that he was "researching" for a book he was writing. "What's it about? Sucking at sports?" "No, it's about the link between brain damage and football." Needless to say, Trent was about to cave in Sam's face until Mikaela cooled him off.
