:Stuffing titles with keywords is an old trick, and most search engines are wise to it now. Google will see we have "Transformers 2" in the title of every page and ignore it. The wiki is a collaborative project that only works when we're maximing the visibility of the site to all Transformers fans. It has come to my attention that the title of "Teletraan 1" has suddenly vanished from the site logo. And in its place has come.... "Transformers Wiki". Hey ho! [http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page Guess who else goes by that name]!

This move smacks of desperation, and frankly, I don't blame anybody here for feeling that way. I don't know how much community has arisen here since the mass exodus of 2008, but it doesn't look like much. Most attempts to keep the place going have not been terribly successful. The number of articles here has barely grown in... what is it now, 8 months? It's gone from maybe 6,800 at the time of the split, to 7,100 today. Meanwhile, over at the new place, we're rapidly closing in on Article #9,000 - and that's despite the various setbacks and disasters we've had along the way.

I bring this up not because I want to see this site give up or anything, but because -- as Derik pointed out a few months ago -- this site is currently drifting rudderless, and it's drifting along a path that the new site has already forged. This site is currently trying to do what TFWiki.net already does, and in the absence of the community that exists there, it's failing miserably.

I would much rather see the site choose a direction of its own instead. And there is a clear and even EASY direction it could follow, one that would answer long-standing complaints about TFWiki.net from certain quarters of the fandom: Play it straight. Rework this site as a non-humor-inclusive wiki. Make it an actual ALTERNATIVE to TFWiki.net, rather than a slowly-shriveling duplicate husk, coasting on the legacy of a community that has departed.

Of course, I doubt this will happen. Frankly, I think the people who do this complaining don't have the cajones to stand up and actually do anything about it, let alone come together to form a community and take collective action. But, in case I'm wrong, consider this a gauntlet thrown down.

I edit for spelling and grammar... sorry that my dictionary is set for British English... That is the language I was taught in... It was disabled at this wiki because it was being abused in a way that is against our policies. ProtectSite was not meant to be used non-stop in that fashion. It is for short time protections (that is why it has a short time limit), that other solutions cannot handle in a feasible/reasonable way. I'm a frequent user at Tfwiki (who before it went up, went here) and I thought I should mention to you guys: they seem to be starting to advertise the new War for Cybertron, transformers game on their main page. At one point they were doing so with Transformers Animated. :I actually prefer the ones where they are in a standing pose. For example, Live-Action-Film Optimus Prime, to me, commands more respect in the image where he is standing than he does in the photo where he is in a battle pose. The standing position also allows the viewer to more easily look at the character in question and mentally reverse engineer them, as nothing is obscured. Furthermore, an action pose isn't always necessary to portray the personality of the character in the image. When you look at decepticons such as RiD Scourge, his color scheme and red-eyed glare tell all that there is to say. The same could be said of TFU The Fallen.
