A kid's game

Does it seem to you that this wikia seems a bit too...casual? Jokes are littered all over the text and most notably, in picture captions. It's not bad or anything, just seems informal and uncomfortable. And it seems like my username carries over to other wikias, yet not this one. Would that mean this is not an "official side wiki?" Then again, my username only carries on two wikias...but I've only checked five wikias in terms of my username, not counting wikipedia itself...but the other one that doesn't have my username is definitely a strange branch of the .wikia.coms...though it is probably the best wikia I've ever seen. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.124.184.88 (talk • contribs).

That... has been questioned over and over. The site is written in various required factor with relax style in captions and several articles. informal and uncomfortable? It depend on users' feeling. "The funny" is a collective term, like 'herd of sheep,' so its treatment will actually vary depending on use. "The herd is over there," or "the herd stays here" is correct, but "the herd are ewes" is clearly correct while "the herd is an ewe" is clearly not. Similarly, The Funny can be crap, but it cannot be a piece of crap, any more than the herd can be an ewe. -Derik 08:23, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

The funny is staying, of course, in any way at any measure. It's always one of the unique style of the site. I know some people will say this is immature, stupid, juvenile, making the site informal, self-disrespecting (to the site) ...blah blah blah. Well, the style would be unique if TFWiki.net wasn't also doing it. Thus meaning you have two wikis doing the exact same thing, which is completely pointless and useless.

It would be in the better interest of this wiki here to do things differently in order to, well, differentiate itself from TFWiki.net. It would also help attract more editors, as those folks who like the funny have almost all left to TFWiki.net. Meanwhile, there are a number of knowledgeable folks who didn't contribute to the original wiki because they disliked the funny, who would be willing to come back here and contribute if this wiki now took a more serious bent.

Caption bastard isn't quite a problem. The real problems which the site is facing are those who don't know how to edit on Wiki system, those who were gave {{correctenglish}}, new page bastard, upload bastard/{{tagyourpics}}, or layout bastard. And last but not least, who don't know the rules/standards, such as scoop bastard, out-universe writting in the fiction section, non-official products, and those who post comments in the articles. These are the real problem what the site is facing. In short: Editors' quality. And I can't imagine what _disasters will happen after the movie's premiere. --TX55^TALK 03:21, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Tips on fixing this DREADFUL site

Ok this site is really fucked up! Everytime I try to type something in on the search bar it refreshes the page. Also, I'm really pissed off about the funny things writen on thumb pictures. I want to see facts on them saying what the picture is about! The site despritely needs pages for toys. When I go to the toyline page and click on "Leader Class Optimus Prime", it brings me to Optimus Prime's profile page. I recommend you fix this. Another thing that must be fixed is the lack of information given to certain pages. I hope this has helped to fix the site, and I hope to see some changes soon.

Dear sir or madam. This is a wiki. You may be unfamiliar with the concept, but everyone is able to make changes to a wiki simply by clicking on the "edit" link. Whenever you have to type a lowercase T into the search bar, replace it with an uppercase T. The funny captions aren't going anywhere; you'd know that if you would actually read the top of this page, where it says THE FUNNY STAYS. There aren't pages for any of the toys, only small sections on the page, and that's how it's going to stay. There's nothing to fix, because nothing's wrong with that. If you want pages to be expanded, you have to take the reins and actually do it by yourself. You can't expect to be able to just sit around and tell everyone what to add to pages, you have to do it on your own. And honestly, this is a well-run site. Aaaah, but you see, therein lies the problem. Previously, there were enough rabid TF nuts to fill the wiki out with actual content on top of caption jokes. But now, as this trivia section clearly shows, the users that remain here are just dedicated to dogpiling unfunny "jokes" while not taking much care of ACTUAL content.

But see, the jokes and captions are the tone set by the previous staff and editors, their sense of humour, their style, which they took with them to tfwiki.net. Given this wiki currently has none of the original staff or the regular contributors who wrote 95% of the content here, I would suggest this wiki find its own path and its own tone. It does neither wiki good if people regularly confuse one with the other.
