Transformers Devastation is a 2015 fighting game developed by Platinum Games and published by Activision. Although its aesthetics and story are heavily inspired by that of The Transformers television series, the game is in fact a prequel to the Transformers: Combiner Wars comic.[1][2]
Gameplay
Transformers Devastation is a hack-and-slash game much like Platinum's other games such as Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising. The game is very fast-paced and you can choose from Optimus, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock.

Development
It was first announced at E3 2015. Developed by Platinum Games, Transformers Devastation uses an engine similar to their Bayonetta 2 game. There is cel-shading to mimic the hand-drawn style of The Transformers television series.
Promotions
In February 2016, Sony released limited edition PlayStation 4 consoles, each bundled with a steelbook copy of Transformers Devastation. Each of these consoles is white in color with their left-sides decorated with a huge metallic Autobot insignia, the Transformers Devastation logo and the PlayStation logo.
Reception
On Metacritic, Transformers Devastation received "mixed or average" reviews on PC holding a metascore of 74/100.[3] It also received "generally favorable" reviews getting a metascore of 77/100 on PS4[4] and 75/100 on Xbox One.[5] On whatoplay.com, it receives an aggregate score (playscore) of 8.25 on PC[6] and ranks 5th place on its "Top 10 PC Hack and Slash Games of All Time" list. It also receives a playscore of 8.06 on PS3,[7] 8.11 on PS4,[8] 7.65 on Xbox 360,[9] and 7.98 on Xbox One.[10]
