Megatron's Law

The Nemesis hovers over the Erta Ale volcano in the Danakil Desert. On board, Megatron's temper is as fiery as the volcano. Furious at the fact that they keep being bested by the Autobots, Megatron has decided to create the ultimate army by weeding out the weak elements in their forces. Starscream is shocked as Megatron leads him into a cavern, where a large number of cages have been set up. In each, a pair of Vehicons is battling to the death. Megatron declares the place a gladiatorial hall. Starscream scoffs at the idea that Decepticon will kill Decepticon, but he is quickly shackled and thrown into a cage where he faces Fearstorm.

Starscream protests that the Decepticons can't be made to fight each other, but Megatron informs him that the shackle on his wrist is designed to explode ten minutes after the start of the fight if he hasn't unlocked it using his opponent's spark. As Fearstorm attacks, Starscream manages to evade the larger Decepticon, and observes that the volcano's magnetic pull is preventing him from transforming. Dismissing Megatron's assertion that this is a battle of brawn, Starscream uses Fearstorm to get to the top of a nearby cage, and breaks off one of the barbed bars. After Fearstorm's next swipe, Starscream uses the barb to impale Fearstorm's arms to the ground. Once he's relieved himself of the shackle, Megatron welcomes Starscream back to the bridge, and gives him his first job, to reinforce the holding cell bars.

Featured characters

"Every mission against Prime and his infernal do-gooders has failed! Why? Because, quite frankly, they're better than us!"

Megatron makes a startlingly humble admission.

"Soooo... Megatron has finally become tired of his poodle! Ha!"

"I am forced to admit that was not a bad effort, Starscream."

Megatron is so generous!

  • Starscream mentions that the volcano's magnetic field prevents transformation—in "Operation Bumblebee, Part 1", it's shown that both transformation and the ability to deploy weapons are tied together, which explains why the Vehicons aren't shooting each other in this story. In "Crossfire", Starscream is still able to fire his missiles despite the lack of a T-cog, so it's unclear why he can't use those here.

  • The feature on Scraplets does not limit itself to the Prime cartoon's depiction of the critters, including plenty of info drawn from their appearance in Marvel comic: specifically, their ability to infest Transformer bodies and replicate within them, and the power to merge into a vaguely humanoid form.
