Thunderhowl served during the Age of Expansion a Prime who send him to Crystal City, his Mission was to destroy the City for Good. He the Noble Knight, breachend the City Defences, but he was wounded by the crystals and was trapped in a Crystal Prison.
The Knight Salvation came after the Year 2007, who he is freed by Bumblebee and Chromia, in the Group search for a part of Windblade. The noble Knight agreed to aid for helping in the Quest of the Group. After they enter the Throne Room of the Crystalline King, the Group was attacked by a squadron of Crystal Copys of Windblade. Bumblebee used is multiverse Energy to shatter the Crystalline King and saved Thunderhowl, Chromia and the part of Windblade. Thunderhowl returned, after the Quest was completed, to Iacon City with Bumblebee und Chromia, he pledged his loyalty to the current Prime, to Optimus.
