  • As per this site's policies, copying from other sites isn't allowed.

    • Of course but with all do respect, how can this wiki have any hopes to improve or share something with others without promising knowledge? On top of everything I am unable to edit anything of TFwiki.

        Loading editor
    • There's nothing stopping anyone from making an article about Earth Wars, but copying and pasting everything from TFWiki is, as I say, banned under the policies of this site. Any new article should be written from scratch, not copied from somewhere.

If you can tell me what your username is on TFWiki, I may be able to help with the latter problem.

        Loading editor
    • It is really hard for me to making any thought by thought or whatsoever. I do not have a username, so I do not known how to get into or log into TFwiki.

        Loading editor
    • Yes, you have to sign up for an account to edit there, much as you do here.

Anyway, as I said, copying isn't allowed here, and if you continue doing it, an administrator may block you from editing.

        Loading editor
    • I know that, but it is just so hard trying to find an alternative way so that an administrator would not.

        Loading editor
    • Nevertheless copying from other sites is considered plagiarizing. It is not too hard to write the same article in different words, so that it isn't considered plagiarism. So please stop plagiarizing or we unfortunately have to block you.

        Loading editor
    • I was not even trying to plagiatizing, I want to help improve the wiki in the way I find easy and simple.

        Loading editor
    • The text shown in your version of the Earth Wars article and the one on TFWiki is exactly the same and the latest edit on that article of TFWiki was one week ago. This falls under the definition of plagiarism. If you write something on the internet you want credit for this and plagiarism violates this policy. Here you can see your version and the one on TFWiki: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Transformers:_Earth_Wars?oldid=425599, http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:_Earth_Wars, http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/index.php?title=Transformers:_Earth_Wars&action=history

    • Is there any easier way to give information to this wiki (and not thinking of creating information on your own thoughts), if you guys do not want anything you think or find Plagiarism? Because you see, every wiki website I had ever went and traveled to had very bad, false, and wrong information. I want to give out information that is the truth. Trying to think it out on my own, would lead me to making the same thing as those bad-information givers that is worst then Plagiarism.

        Loading editor
    • Are you playing the game? Then add your first hand knowledge.

        Loading editor
    • First of all, I am not playing any at all. And second of all, first hand knowledge is not been one of my best advantage points since the FANDOM users would put wrong stuff in the wikis then right ones.

        Loading editor
    • Then research official or trustworthy sources if you wish to improve the page

        Loading editor
    • At the most possible thing to do, any and ever should there be more FANDOM users coming about putting in bad information or putting random stuff (besides of a certain thing that I had a discussion with the first guy who mad this thread). Then, it is vitally important to always give this out for the means for a better future for our wikis. Always.

        Loading editor
    • The game has an official wiki, so we can source from that, and when I source, I don't mean completely copy word for word like you have done with your edit.

        Loading editor
    • In a word, I meant, always tell any and everyone who is doing editing or wanting to create a wiki of their own, Always tell them to "research official or trustworthy sources if you wish to improve the page" if there is any means in the future to avoid the bad gestures.

    • The Combaticon disambiguation article you copied from TFWiki is a good illustration of why copying is a bad idea - the disambiguation articles on this wikia use a different layout, and many of the articles have different names, so a bunch of the links in the article you copied were pointing to the wrong places.

I have taken the liberty of fixing it as best I could, but in future you should create the pages yourself and not copy them from other sites.

        Loading editor
    • That time I was Not trying to copy anything. I swear. The Combaticon disambiguation needed a page, so I was trying what I know from the past, not copying anything, seriously.

        Loading editor
    • If you were not trying to copy anything, it seems odd that the article you created matched the one on TFWiki word for word and had links to pages which exist on TFWiki but not here.

        Loading editor
    • Look, this kind of thing is a long story for me. But I was just trying to do that page out of everything I can think and remember of, nothing more. And that is all I know, really.

        Loading editor
    • The Volcanicus article you created was somewhat blatantly copied and pasted from TFWiki as well.

        Loading editor
    • Not necessarily nor intentionally, but I can seem to recall other parts of this wiki that looked like it was copied and pasted from TFWiki before I came along. And on top of things already told you that I have no experience of how to think of creating pages on my own. So with all do respect, there must be other ways or solutions that can hep editors creating an official character page and help improve this wiki.

        Loading editor
    • Some parts will look the same because TFWiki essentially split from this wiki around ten years ago and no one has made much of a change to them in that time.

Even if copying the text from another site was not against this wiki's policies, by not crediting the original authors as per the terms of the CC-B-SA license, you are claiming authorship of the text, which is dishonest and unfair to everyone who put hours into writing the original page.

        Loading editor
    • I was not trying to claim authorship or have interest in it. I just want to find a faster easier way to help create new pages for characters and improve the wikis.

Plagiarism isn't an "faster easier" way. Research is the only way. I already provided you a link to the official Earth Wars wiki.

    • Furthermore you are meant to create character pages with this layout, it loads automatically if you click the "Character" button beneath the "For new pages, please click the button that describes the type of page it is:" message when adding a new page.

    • Use that template and fill in the sections you have info for.

        Loading editor
    • Thinking it out to fill in for info is not my strong suit...

That notice is at the top of the editor when you create a new page. Unless you were on mobile. No excuses.

        Loading editor
    • I am not making excuses! Every time I try to think out ways for info, there was always either: 1. taking too long to think I end up with headaches, lost track of what I was supposed to be doing or end up falling asleep
or 2. the people of their wikis end up banning me for putting in false information.

        Loading editor
      1. Still doesn't justify plagiarism despite multiple warnings from multiple users.
      2. Then don't add false information. When you source from trustworthy sources (e.g. like the Game's official Wiki), this is less likely to happen.
