I assume this page will also (eventually) reference Linkage and the Fan Club comic? --ItsWalky 20:11, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

That seems reasonable. -Derik 20:49, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Linkage is briefly covered in the midst of the "2010" events. And conflabbit, I meant to include the Fan Club comic, but then Lost came on and I forgot about it in the rush to get it up and watch the TV. - Chris McFeely 22:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Also, the two Fan Club text stories that take place during and after Cybertron, come to think of it... --ItsWalky 03:32, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

I've got at least 1 US source stating 2010 on Armada, worth including?

And 2013? Really? That makes absolutely no sense. Kicker has aged more than 3 years from his flashbacks that occur after Armada! *stamps foot* Goddamnit Japan! -Derik 21:09, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, no, the point is that in both America and Japan, both series are separated by ten years. 2013 is just the date that you get (and the date the timeline on the Takara website shows) if Armada takes place in 2003 (which the website also states). But in America, it takes place in 2010. What source do you have on that, by the way? I KNOW I read it in several places way back when, but I'll be buggered if I can remember ANY of them at this point. - Chris McFeely 22:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Armada sticker book says it explicitly IIRC. It was the mass-market (episode, comic, book...) source we had confirming any date for Armada. (I guess now we know why Rad was paranoid about the Russians, it seemed so silly back in 2003...)
Ahd er- I missed that Armada had a different date in Japan, silly me. -Derik 22:07, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Wait a second, didn't the Minicon exodus happen ONE million years ago? I know that was in the DW comics, and I coulda sworn in was said so in the cartoon as well... -Greboguru 23:13, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Rodimus's exodus timeline?[]

If Rodimus left Cybertron 8000 years ago, and Unicron disguised himself as Cybertron's moon 10 MYA... when exactly did Rodimus fail to come to the rescue of Alpha Q's planet, whose destruction put the attacking Unicron to sleep?

Also, where is the 8000 year date from? -Derik 22:57, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

The 8000 date, like all the pre-2010 dates, comes from the timeline on the Takara site. But, again, you wanna read a bit more carefully there, Derik - Unicron's attack on Planet Q comes between Armada and Energon. That was something that a lot of people theorized about at the time (m'self included), because the chronology really didn't seem to line up, and then this website timeline came along and went "Hey, you guys were right, this actually didn't make any sense before, so the way you said it happened is right now." - Chris McFeely 23:04, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I sewear I remember the "8000 years ago" date for Rodimus's departure being in the cartoon itself. --KilMichaelMcC 01:14, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Supalrink or Energon? I'm only up to ep 27 of energon, it might be restated later. -Derik 01:34, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Energon. My memory may be faulty, but I could have sworn I heard the 8000 number .... *checks Wiki* Ah, there it is! The Legend of Rodimus. Except it was said to be "8000 eons" rather than years. --KilMichaelMcC 01:47, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Did it say years in Japan? because I'm uncomfortable with it sitting at 8000 if not. (the events it referred to always seemed so much further back in time than that-- there was another Megatron that left with him!) -Derik 02:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
*finishes download of superlink episodes 11 & 22*
Okay- Japan says 8000 years, it also says that Rodimus Convoy was a great Autboto hero from the 'first era.' (Probably an alusion to Japanese dynasty chronologies) but then makes a much clearer delineation that it's skipping forward in his story as Kicker asks specifically about the 'journeyed to the future bit,' which took place 8000 years ago. That makes quite a bit more sense-- Hot Shot's hero worship is probably from his earlier prominence, before he did his Fortress Maximus impression. (I feel like, though still young, Hot Shot was not a dead rookie 8000 years ago, but I can't pin down why.)
The extra Megatron and Optimus is a dub perverion... could we ignore it without making it an error if we willfully twist Primus's words to say that he's talking about Optimus Prime and Megatron int he final act of Armada- and paralleling their decision to join together to the Omnicons evolution? It's still wonky as hell- but another mech named Megatron 8000 years ago makes no sense at all. -Derik 02:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Maximus cominbers[]

I didn't watch the cartoon, so forgive me if this question is stupid, but the Maximus combiners went to sleep before the faction split? Don't they have faction symbols on them? —Interrobang 01:18, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Would it matter if they did? Since when do these shows have that kind of internal consistency? :) --ItsWalky 02:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
It could just mean that the badge had some sort of older symbolic significance. See Cybertronian_Empire#Trivia for a similar occurance. It's not like the Nazis came up with the Swastika, or the state of Israel with the star of David. (I wish I had two less polarizing examples off the top of my had, but I don't.) -Derik 02:56, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Bad choice of language on my part. Fix'd. - Chris McFeely 18:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
