Games?

I'm just asking, should the Movie games be counted? 76.169.169.60 05:38, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

I would vote against. Those are more a statement about how games work than about Optimus Prime. JW 12:21, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

So, the Transformers The Game's Decepticon campaign doesn't count? Thanks for the reply, though. 76.169.169.60 00:49, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Please indent your replies.
And, yes, that would be my vote. It's the nature of a game, where one can play both sides, that the guys on the other side are gonna die. It's not intrinsically relevant to the "Optimus dies" trope. JW 01:10, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Megatron's deaths

I've been wondering, since we've got this article out, should we make one on the deaths and resurrections of Megatron? Let's face it: Old Buckethead's been offed a few times in career as well, often for the same reasons (except maybe the Christ one). Should we document those as well? -- SFH 21:31, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm open to a The many deaths of Megatron article, sure. I can think of three or four without trying too hard. JW 21:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
This subject could almost have it's own category, "The Many Deaths of BLANK." Also, why is Optimus Primal included on this page? He's not Optimus Prime. What do people think of him getting his own "The Many Deaths of..." article?--Suzyprime 23:07, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I'd much prefer Optimus Primal stay here. He's an Optimus, and was the leading character in his show, so I think he best fits here.
As for "The many deaths of BLANK", the thing about Optimus Prime is that a half-dozen different Optimuses have all died. Similarly for a handful of Megatrons. But, in the case of (say) Dirge, there's only one Dirge who died a buncha times, so we can cover that on his page. Similarly, the only Jazz who died is the one from the 2007 movie. Optimus and Megs are the only major cross-continuity characters who have a tradition of dying. (That I can think of.) JW 00:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Does Unicron count?--Apcog 02:03, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Based on how I understand it, I would say no, since Unicron is just one single entity who travels across the multiverse. -- SFH 02:49, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
What about Starscream? He died in G1 and was exorcised from several hosts, and the Unicron Trilogy Starscream died at least twice, didn't he? - Semysane 06:08, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Maybe we should have a segment at the end like this-

While Optimus Prime is not the only one to die and be reborn like this, he has done so by far the most. Other characters who have done this somewhat regularly are Megatron (list of Deaths and Rebirths), Dirge (list of deaths), Starscream (list of deaths and rebirths).Shadow Mask Prime 12:59, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I had originally added information on Starscream's deaths to his disambig page, but it was felt that it made that too messy. I was thinking of starting a seperate page, but wanted to make sure it wouldn't be deleted as unnecessary. I think Starscream is more interesting than Megatron. If Megs dies, he tends to do it at the end of the series. Starscream not only dies mid-series, but has a tendency to become a ghost/immortal. (In fact, the only Starscream who hasn't died as far as I can tell is the movie one. He has to be pretty close to Optimus in terms of deaths.) If no-one objects, I'll start the page tomorrow. Death Of Ginrai

Now I know he isn't actually Optimus Prime, and only a [s]Pretender[/s] wannabe, but looking at the episode descriptions for Victory, it looks like God Ginrai goes through the exact same process as every other Prime like character, dying then coming back, with a new [s]toy[/s] body, the only difference here being his new body is not very Prime like at all, and he doesn't seem to be the real leader at this point. We have Primal here, so surely we can squeeze in Ginrai's Death too? Shadow Mask Prime 12:44, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Nop, he is Jinrai not Optimus Prime. Though the darn RTM dub names him Optimus Prime. --TX55 12:55, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Not even if we state he is not actually Optimus Prime to avoid confusion? Say...
While he is not an actual Optimus Prime, God Ginrai, a "GodMaster" who looks like Optimus Prime (his toy was PowerMaster Optimus Prime) also goes through a similar Death and Rebirth in the Japan Only series of Transformers Victory. His Reborn form looks nothing like Optimus Prime though.Shadow Mask Prime 13:37, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

crocodile

Do we mention the time when Optimus was changed into a crocodile?

Alligator. And I'd say no, because he wasn't dead. --KilMichaelMcC 19:37, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
