Tarantulas is so awesome he makes me crap my pants!

Could we limit talk pages to relevant conversation, please? - RolonBolon 23:12, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Pre-earth form Question

hey i was wondering If all the origonal cast of beast wars had pre earth modes based on cybertron and energon toy models , which toy was tarantulus based on ALL The others i have worked out but i cant recognise his.

Can anyone help me

The folks in the comic book Dawn of Future's Past who didn't get exclusive toys were not based on any existing toys. Tarry, Terry, and Scorponok were just made up, their forms being modifications of their Beast Wars forms. In Trent Troop's Theft of the Golden Disc animation, they were Cyb Ransack, Energon Skyblast, and Cyb Shortround, respectively. --ItsWalky 14:27, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Not quite true, Scorponok's pre-earth form was based on another stinger-bot, Megatron (BW) on Red Alert in his missle truck form, and Waspinator on a slight Retool of Thundercracker from the Cybertron series

I didn't know where else to place this question, so I did it here. I've been thinking of doing an article on Tarantulas' lair, yet he had two lairs during the series: one underground near the Darksyde during Season 1, and one that he found during Season 2 and used for the remainder of the series. Should I do individual articles on each, or combine them under one article? -- SFH 18:46, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

I think it should be a subsection of Tarantulas's page, personally, but if it does end up being separate then they should definitely be one article. - Dark T Zeratul 19:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Origin controversy

I recognize that everybody has their own different scale of valuing author intent, and also that various articles on this wiki come down on different sides of that (i.e. Transmutate's gender). I tried to be very conservative in my edit. --Thylacine 2000 14:43, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Tarantulas' Origin

This may sound stupid of me, but has anyone already pointed out that Tarantulas (and maybe the Tripredacus council) maybe be decendants of the Quintessons? Just a thought.

It's more a matter of the fact that they could be decendant from ANYONE really. The only thing we know is they aren't descendent from the Ark Decepticons. There's really too many other posibilities to list each unless there's something that specifically hints in its direction.
It's not just "Ark Decepticons" that we know they aren't descended from. When Tigerhawk tells him that the timestorm from destroying the Ark would wipe out his entire races, Tarantulas responds "only those descended from Autobot or Decepticon." That's a much broader group. --KilMichaelMcC 03:31, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
This is one of those tricky little bits where we're given so little information, and all of it vague, that IMO the best approach is just to provide all the relevant quotes verbatim and let the reader make his own conclusion. -- Repowers 03:41, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
IIRC, didnt' Rattrap (or Rhinox) not fuzz out during Optimal Situation, and Bob Forward said in an interview this was deliberate because they always thought of them as older, and thus they wouldn't vanish from reality when Megatron enacted his 'shoot your grandfather while time-traveling' plan? Was this fan-speculation, or did he actually say this somewhere...? (It provides a counter-example to compare to, of someone else who was also not affected.) -Derik 03:46, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Rhinox did fuzz out in "Optimal Situation". But I remember I didn't saw the scene Rattrap fuzzed out. Maybe it's just because the animator forgot to draw. But maybe this will become retcon or something else, for example, Rattrap will appear along with Optimus Prime and call Arcee "Great Ant" during pre-Beast Era in the BotCon Comic years later (er...). We just know about Rattrap is probably the oldest member of Axalon's crew. We don't know how old he really is. --TX55 04:41, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

How is he based on Ransack?

He looks nothing like him in Dawn of Future's Past panel. The Big Q 19:30, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Ooops... hehe. My mistake. The Big Q 19:31, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Another posibility is that he, and the council, were products of the Quintesons in an attempt to take Cybertron back.
