Jolt is not always in Volt mode, he was in robot mode when the autobots returned to base after Optimus's death, and again after Jetfire dies, to put jetfire's parts on Optimus. --bumblebeeprime09 18:28, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

What Do We Do About Obama, Swine Flu, and Recession?

In the movie, it was mentioned president Obama was moved to a bunker when the military declared the situation code delta. How does this affect the movie continuity and specific dating of events, including interference with real world politics? In Simmons' butchery, they go into the freezer where there are pigs, and Sam makes a comment about the swine flu. At college when Alice is trying to manipulate Sam in bed, he tries to change the topic by mentioning the economic recession (or at least I think it was there, but it was definitely mentioned somewhere when Sam was trying to change the subject of conversation). Such tie ins to the real world never occurred before in the prequel. --Darth shohet 01:33, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Reception

The reviews are in. Ouch.

It made $417 million in less than a week, the critics can go **** themselves

First, anything can make money, doesn't make it good. Bay's work is uniformly awful, always. Secondly, SIGN YOUR TALK PAGE COMMENTS! Jeep! 00:23, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I concur, however I firmly believe that only the viewer can decide what's best for themselves; That's why I don't read movie reviews for any reason other than the screenshots included with them. Xeno the Hedgehog 03:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I enjoyed it simply because I love Soundwave, and the fact that the Matrix was involved. And Alice was ALMOST as hot as Mikaela I like stuff asploding. I'm kinda irked that Soundwave was a satellite the WHOLE DAMN TIME, and that Sideways died really quick, but hey, at least Megs' head is SLIGHTLY more bucket-like than before. Lol, I've spent $145 on ROTF toys already.--KaotikusNemesis 14:45, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Current information includes:

  • Producer Tom DeSanto has envisioned a storyline introducing the Constructicons.[1]
  • Writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are recruiting Ehren Kruger to help them write the screenplay. Michael Bay and producers Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are also returning.[2]
  • The producers expect that with a bigger budget and the special effects worked out, the Transformers will have a larger role and more screen time.[citation needed]
  • According to the 2008 ShoWest edition of Dolby News, the film will be in 3-D.[3]
  • Michael Bay has claimed that the studio is putting out deliberate misinformation, to obscure real leaks.[4] (Like our jobs weren't hard enough.)
  • A key character will return and "attempt to settle a score".[5]
  • Roberto Orci confirmed that there is no '2' in the title of the sequel.[6]
  • Aaron Hill is confirmed to play a supporting in the film.[7]
  • During San Diego Comic-Con 2008, Simon Furman claimed that a character based upon The Fallen would be in the film.[8] A day or two later, IDW Publishing writer Chris Mowry corroborated the claim in an interview with MTV Splash Page, calling "The Fallen" the main villian of Revenge (Arcee was also confirmed in the same interview, but the reference to her was mysteriously removed shortly after publication). [9] Less than a week after this, however, Michael Bay reiterated that everything leaked thus far is part of their misinformation campaign and that only a handful of people involved with the production of Revenge have seen the script, contradicting IDW's interviews where their representatives confirm that they have the script. Additionally, Bay claimed the only truth about the film was Sam going to college.[10] Curiously, on August 5th 2008, after a fan posted on Michael Bay's forum pointing out the contradiction, all references to the Fallen were removed from the aforementioned interviews, as well as any references to IDW Publishing having the script.
  • When questioned about whether the Transformers would have more flat surfaces and have less internal machinery exposed compared to the designs from the first movie, Roberto Orci answered with an emphatic "YES".[11]
  • An official behind-the-scenes video from the first day of shooting (June 2, 2008) at the former steel plant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was posted on Wal-Mart's public website in early September of 2008. The video shows police cars with Chinese markings, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson shooting an action sequence together with other actors and extras dressed as soldiers, and an Audi R8 being chased by three differently-colored motorcycles, all three of them equipped with drivers wearing the same outfit.[12]
  • The first theatrical trailer for the film is expected to be released with Star Trek (co-written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman), which is set to be released in the United States on May 8, 2009. [13]
  • As confirmed by Variety, a short teaser trailer of 31 seconds was released in the net on the SuperBowl on February 1. [14]
  • In a recent interview it Roberto Orci; Bonecrusher and Brawl/Devastator will not be coming back in the sequel. [15]
  • In the recent issue of Empire, it has been comfirmed that the Pyramid of Giza scene will be set at the near end of the film and that the pyramids have a connection with the Transformers, the pyramids will be a key feature to the decepticons plans. Devastator will make an appearance in the pyramid scene. Bay has also stated that Megatron will feature in Transformers: ROTF and that scenes in Transformers: ROTF will also be set in Paris, Jordan, Luxor, Oman and Shanghai.
  • Roberto Orci has confirmed a Pretender will appear. [16]
  • Roberto Orci has confirmed Megatron will return for the film.
  • Frank Welker will reprise his role as Soundwave. [17]

Errors
  • Note: It is entirely possible that Michael Bay could not give a large metal-plated transforming ass about blatant errors of reality within the film, given that its premise revolves around large robots tearing shreds off each other while booming explosions occur everywhere. As such, the following list of errors should not really be examined with too much seriousness.
  • Megatron tells Starscream that the Decepticons aren't going to "hide" from the humans anymore. But when did Megatron ever hide? He came back to life, immediately starting fighting Autobots in broad daylight in a major city, died, came back to life, and immediately started fighting Autobots in broad daylight again. Sure, someone may have told him offscreen that the Decepticons had been in hiding before finding him inside the Hoover Dam and again during his two-year underwater entombment, but it's an awkward line given Megatron's past actions. In addition to that, both of these thirty-foot tall intelligent, alien, death machines are having this casual chat about revealing themselves to the humans whilst standing atop a building in the middle of a DENSELY POPULATED HUMAN CITY. That renders the entire "Robots in Disguise" concept a little moot.
  • After takeoff, the Predator magically loses its propeller engine and somehow gets a rocket engine. Michael Bay probably jumped out of an exploding helicopter, ripped off the propeller, shoved a jet in its place, then cushioned his fall with the shock wave of an explosion. Then the Predator exploded afterwards as well.

Cast

Okay, it starts getting my nerves. Please beware there are several thing easily to be confused:

  1. There is only Arcee's pink, blue, and purple component in the film. No Chromia or Flareup in the film. Arcee is a multi-component Transformers in this film.
  2. Unless there is any official material to update, it's Buffalo MPV Decepticon, not Bonecrusher.
  3. Reedman is the combined form of the Microcons.
  4. Grindor is not Blackout. (I hope this issue is taken care of.)

I'll revert any edit which go against with thing mentioned above. --TX55TALK 16:06, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

I get the whole Arcee thing, but if we were going to refer to more than one Arcee, should we say "Arcee moved up while Arcee took cover" or "Arcee moved up while Chromia took cover" or "Pink Arcee moved up while blue Arcee took cover"? Teh lolz! BPL 20:33, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

A question to Transformers fans

Helo friends recently I posted a call to transformers fans to boycott Revenge of the Fallen in order to protest the ending of Transformers Animated. I'd like to say that thousands of members of the transformers fan base rushed to stand behind me and that the protest brought animated back. Well not really. In reality nobody was really gung ho about protesting. However as I and many others prodicted Rotf bombed in the box offfice ok so maybe bombed is too strong a word but it didn't exactly do a scectacular job it actually didn't do much better than the first one it might have done worse than the first. Spill.com gave it the raiting of a low rental and the movie preview critic predicted even before the first preview was aired that it would be all flash and no substanance and thats all it is visualls and no story or charecter development now I want to ask you a question do you think it was all worth it having Michael Bay pis on our childhood memories and filmmaking talent and using transformers to do it and do you think it was right to end TF Animated do you fans do you.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.47.191.114 (talkcontribs).

Give it a rest. ROTF and Animated were both awful. Jeep! 21:21, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Are you high? ROTF is a huge sucess. It's the 10th highest grossing film ever, and has already made more in a month than the first film made in the whole time in it was in theatres. - 81.156.242.149 01:00, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Box office success doesn't equal to the success of film itself (such as story, filming...), just like Indiana Jones 4, though I like it (I mean Indy 4). --TX55TALK 01:42, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

I totally agree with you TX55 just because it made so much money doesn't meen the quality of the story or charechters was good. these things are the soul of any good film. Also I would like to ask you transformers fans what do you want from a good transformers movie without Michael Bay or the current writers what kind of story charecter directors and writers would their be.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.47.191.114 (talkcontribs).

Radioactivity Response

In the article's trivia, it says that Transformerss are radioactive. Just because Frenzy was radioactive doesn't mean that all the transformers are.

Maybe Simmons used radioactive material when he was dealing with Frenzy in "The Veiled Threat". Jokerfan45 21:30, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
