AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]

Does any one here use google chrome? Try it now! The main page is utterly unavigatable! I even had to post this using IE because the talk page button DIDNT EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you wonder why everyone left to make tfwiki....86.161.186.240 16:10, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

You blue screened my computer, nice job id10ts86.161.186.240 08:57, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Oh Wikia, now do you see why we left?81.108.237.26 12:30, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

A link to the newer site[]

Could a link to the newer, better, more reliable TF Wiki be posted on the main page to let people know of its existence? I've been going to several sites and found out that many people still come to this site looking for info, when they ought to be going to the newer one since its info is more up-to-date and this site's info is... well, this site's info is good but, let's face it, a lot of it is outdated, incomplete, unfinished, and not as reliable as it could be. I know that it may drive away several of this site visitors, but most of the experts who ran this site before the move have already left a long time ago. So, could there be a line of text that would say something like "We encourage you to also visit our more up-to-date TFWiki site for the best Transformers information." and have it link to www.tfwiki.net. --Sabrblade 01:00, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't know how to say butta... if I were a normal user, maybe I would agree. I go for both site, too, but if we put the link on the main page, wouldn't there be less and less contributors? --TX55TALK 05:20, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
I'd say you are right. A link like that could draw people away from this wiki, which isn't fair to those building it up. Unless, of course, it's a fully reciprocal agreement... how about TFWiki adds the same size link to their main page saying "You can also visit http://trasformers.wikia.com for the original Transformers wiki!" ;) -- sannse (talk) 16:33, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
I think Sabrblade is half-right. There should be a permalink explaining how the original TF Wiki community left for TFWiki.net, and this is therefore no longer the original wiki, but instead now a separate wiki. No judgements necessary on which is better, just an explanation on what happened.
I get really, really tired of having to explain the situation to people who don't understand why there's two TF wikis that have near-same content, or that the original community left and thus is not responsible for information posted here.
I can understand you wanting to retain editors, but doing it by hiding the true nature of the situation is, at best interpretation confusing, and at worst interpretation dishonest.
(Aside: Although, TBH, I think Sabrbrade has a point. If you really want to attract editors, the right/honest way to do it is by going into the outside TF fandom and recruiting those people who are knowledgable about TFs and dissatisfied with how the old community did things. Don't try to attract editors by having the casual visitors just looking for TF info think this is an up-to-date, actively-maintained wiki when it's currently not. I'll settle for just the basic information notice idea at this point, though.) --72.79.223.89 08:30, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Now that I've had some sleep, let me explain my reasoning further.

1. Right now, the only people providing explanations on the situation are people who are disgruntled with Wikia... which means that this sort of post> (http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?p=901755#p901755) is fairly typical of the type of explanation that ends up being given.

If you folks explain here how the original community left and this is now a separate site from them, that means you get to word it in a way that doesn't make you look bad. (It also gives you some brownie points in terms of having more honesty about the situation than is currently being displayed.)

2. The only way this wiki is going to thrive as opposed to sitting on life support is if you can get a critical mass of people who are very knowledgable about and dedicated to Transformers. Casual editors are helpful to an already thriving wiki, but can't sustain a dying one on their own.

And, let's face it, any dedicated editor who likes the way the original community did things has no practical reason to stay here when they can go ahead and work with/continue working with the original community. And it's obvious that the number of folks who've stayed behind out of altruism or because they like Wikia is woefully inadequate.

Therefore, IMHO your best tack to take on finding editors is to go after those folks who are knowledgable about and dedicated to Transformers, but didn't like the way the original community did things. If you can let these people know that the original community left and they're now free to shape this wiki the way they've always thought a TF wiki should be run, you'll have a higher chance of getting them to actually do so. However, that's never going to work as long as you're making it seem like this wiki still has any ties to the original community. (I'd get rid of the humor policies, for one. The only way this wiki is going to thrive is if you do things differently than the original community did. After all, think about it - why would anyone bother spending serious time on a wiki that's a mostly-dead psuedo-copy of the way the original community does things, when they can just, you know, go to the original community's actual wiki and get the "real thing"?)

Explaining about the leaving/separation benefits you in this regard as well (provided that the TF fans still here follow it up by doing some active recruiting on the forums, since people who disliked the old wiki probably don't currently visit here, since they have no reason to think things have changed).

So, to sum up - having an accurate explanitory notice likely benefits both you and the casual TF fans more than it does us TFWiki.net folk. --96.240.220.134 18:45, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Pictures of the Fallen and Devastator from the Movie[]

I'm sure this could be useful somewhere 71.119.52.252 02:50, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Featured article[]

It's been "Murdered puppy" since November 3rd. Has anyone got a good suggestion for a replacement? Maybe Ravage (G1), since I hear tell he might be relevant to some movie or other which is coming out at some point. --Tetrap 21:34, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, the TFWiki has Deathsaurus up as their's, so that could be a possibility. --Sabrblade 22:05, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Their Deathsaurus article is more complete than ours, and we probably shouldn't highlight that... --Tetrap 22:18, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Funny?[]

With all due respect to the management, can we keep the clean funny and tone down the dirty funny?Wiriamu 23:36, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

The current level of funny here is about PG-13 at the highest, it'd even pass for a UK PG. Really don't see any reason to tone it down, any cleaner would be Wikipedia-level clean. Jeep! 00:46, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

What you call funny, I call sickening. I'm not opposed to adding a bit of humor, but do you have to be sick about it? Real Transformers fans come here to learn, not to be bombarded by crude humor.Wiriamu 22:17, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

What is this in reference to? surely it can't be that bad.Xeno the Hedgehog 22:36, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

I personally will admit that some of the humor here is bad, but not that bad. Most of the humor here is either PG-13 or lower, which is acceptable. Hardly anything here is higher than that. I say, clean humor: fine, slightly-crude humor: bearable, R-rated/X-rated crude humor: I could do without. --Sabrblade 19:49, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Can we show a little decorum, please?[]

Look, I understand that Teletraan I is a little more laid back than most sites. But, as one who comes here to learn more about the Transformers universe and enjoy revisiting that which I already know, I've got to ask: can we not show a little decorum? If we're going to be funny, let's be clean funny, and show that this site is not edited by a bunch of perverts. Is it really that hard not to make sex jokes, innuendo, or comments about certain characters' body parts? Wiriamu 21:58, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Do you realize that you've made this same arguement twice? Moreover, do you realize that you've made this arguement twice without any actual evidence? There aren't any jokes that have enough sexual material to justify complaining about this twice. Or even once. You need to stop talking about this until you can find something that actually says something as completely and totally sexually explicit as you are saying it is. Revenge of the Fallen release in cinemas[]

Don't you think we should and in the reminded of the UK release of Transformers 2? According to a poster I read, it will come in 19/6/2009 (Or 6/19/2009 as americans use it that way). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mr. Serious (talkcontribs).

...What? Felancer Prime 12:04, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Yep, it's out in the UK now. 194.83.232.2 13:44, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

I think he was referring to the weird grammar in the first sentence when he said, "...What?". --Sabrblade 13:51, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I was referring to the weird grammar in the first sentence. "Don't you think we should and in the reminded of the UK release of Transformers 2?" does not compute. Felancer Prime 13:59, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Setup[]

Is it just me or is there something really wrong with the front page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TransRyan (talkcontribs).

I've fixed the problem. :) --TX55TALK 14:45, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

search function.[]

the search function isn't working. I try to type something in and it just sends me back to whatever page I'm on whenever it wants. Why?

I'm having the same problem. --Sabrblade 14:39, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Same here. --Gsdlova
I'm having a similar problem. If I type a lowercase T into the search bar, it refreshes the page. Felancer Prime 23:57, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
I have that problem too. I hate it EHeroFlareNeos 04:21, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
I believe this problem has been resolved. Very well! Gsdlova 20:43, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

ROTF Franchise[]

How about adding ROTF as a separate franchise on the series list istead of "sequel" as it has it's own toyline and everything. Teh lolz! BPL 20:49, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Because it's not a separate franchise. Jeep! 20:53, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually, it kinda is. Like how Beast Machines is to Beast Wars and how Energon is to Armada. Two franchises with one being the direct sequel to the other. --Sabrblade 21:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
I see it more like the G1 franchise - there were several series, all with their own toys, and a film, again with toys, then a whole bunch of new stuff with the Japanese series, and the associated toylines there, and everything right up until Zone and Operation Combination. All one franchise. So I'd argue RotF and the 2007 film are the same franchise. Jeep! 21:14, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
But using the Japanese G1 franchises as examples, isn't it possible for there to be a sort of "franchise within a franchise"? Something like a "sub-franchise" (for lack of a better term). --Sabrblade 21:25, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
I was thinking about the fact you can't access other parts of the ROTF franchise, such as the toyline and comics. Teh lolz! BPL 21:54, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Main Page Notice[]

The "Revenge of the Fallen is now out" notice thing is kinda old. Perhaps replace with something about the ROTF DVDs coming out? Teh lolz! BPL 14:34, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
