Okay, this is super-raw, but I didn't want to let that image of him get lost in the server somewhere. I know there's a bunch of stuff he's done that I don't really know anything about for certain - he WROTE a good portion of Generations, right?

Many thanks for getting this article going. I've completely lost track of exactly how much Fumihiko-san's done when and where when it comes to TFs. I'm a little unsure of how "official" his work with Takara has been, but I can't say for sure it's all been UNofficial, either. I'll have to ask him. However, he recently suffered a loss of one of his secondary storage places; a fire broke out at a spare apartment he was using for storage, and a lot of things were smoke- and/or water-damaged, so he's been busy dealing with that. (More stuff survived than he expected, but he still lost a chunk of stuff, mainly packaging.) I'll see if I can get him to check out this article and provide feedback.
Also, there may be a better reference to cite for his BC 04 panel, but I don't have time to check right now. Other suggestions are welcome, of course.--Apcog 16:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

- (I actually had the impression that he had done a foreign toys panel at a very early BotCon... it wasn't BC96, though, because I just checked the convention program, and that only mentioned a "Foreign Non-Toy Items" panel by Tony Preto. Italicizing Toy Line Names[]
For all the articles I've read and/or edited, I'll be darned if I've ever seen toy line names such as "MicroChange" or "Diaclone" italicized. I'll have to check the style guide, I suppose, and perhaps do specific searches. Regardless, it's nothing I've seen done elsewhere. If it were the case, the word "Transformers" would be italicized a LOT more than it is now in the wiki...--Apcog 21:58, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- Titles of toylines, comic series, and cartoon series should all be italicized. There are a lot of instances of things not being italicized the way they should be, but, that's just life. Not everyone remembers to do it. Of course, not every instance of the word "Transformers" should be italicized. Depends on whether it's being used as a title or not. In a sentence like, "I own hundreds of Transformers," I would read that as a noun referring to the toys, not as the toyline title. (I'm sure Hasbro would prefer that I say, "I own hundreds of Transformers brand reconfigurable toys.") --Steve-o 02:49, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

- Comics and cartoon series titles, I'm familiar with italicizing. Toy line titles, no. (I also wouldn't make "toy line" one word, but that's another matter entirely.) Naturally, when I said "Transformers" would be italicized a lot more in this wiki, I was referring to all the current instances of its unitalicized use as a toy line title. I would hope I haven't been so snarky as to imply by default that I was talking about ALL uses of the word...
- Anyway, the upshot is that while I don't agree with the stylistic choice of italicizing toy line names, since I've generally not seen it used elsewhere, if it's the "official" choice of the wiki style guide, I can adhere to it. (But if you start insisting that it should be italicized when used just as a noun, I'll call "shenanigans".)
- I remember some of Hasbro's rules for fan-art sale, but it was more along the lines of "Don't use 'Transformers' or any other Hasbro-trademarked, TF-related term as part of a fan-art description. Don't use "Transformers" by itself as a noun to refer to the toys, use 'Transformers® brand action figures.' That doesn't cover italicizing per se, of course. Mind, Hasbro has its own particular rules for the typographical treatment of its trademarked TF terms, usually placing them in ALL CAPS, which I don't see elsewhere unless it's specifically quoting a Hasbro-written piece of text.
