I've done it, anyway, on the principle that we give articles to things that we have absolutely nothing on. ([[Autotots]], [[Unicrons]], [[Rorza, the Rocket-cycle Racer from Rigel III]]...)

Revision as of 06:47, 12 January 2008

You know, I'm hoping they make a toy of this guy, simply because it's delightfully silly. Granted, I'd rather have Signal Lancer, but still... --Nemesis Primal 13:39, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

I know it's silly but I've thought the same thing. I'd love a "Dewbot" in the movie line. Bought in a second. And think of the repaint potential...--ZacWilliam 16:52, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
This article needs more Pepsi Convoy referances

Movie appearance

I've heard some of the early reviews mention ol' Dewbot among the allspark created characters--Carrion 04:23, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

there was indeed a Dewbot in the movie, not identical to the game version, but a Dewbot nonetheless.--Carrion 20:51, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

As he clearly is a different dewbot, I think the one in the actual movie should have a seperate page!

Yes, I say this just because I want a Dewbot disambig. Is that so wrong?

I don't think there's enough to say about either for them to warrent seperate pages. Both arre Dewbots, that's what, matters. Subsection of this page should do.--ZacWilliam 00:05, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Actually no, both are Mountain Dew Robots, Dewbot (near as I can tell) is the name of the specific MDR in the game.  ;) -Derik 20:28, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Move to Mountain Dew Robot(s)

Given the non-Dewbot MDR in the film, and Dew City and such, I think this article should be moved from Dewbot to Mountain Dew Robot or Robots. That way it can comfortably cover all Mountain Dew related Transformers fiction. --Steve-o 20:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm down with that. --M Sipher 20:17, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm comfortable with that, ti will have to be restructured, but that's not a problem. Robot singular BTW.-Derik 20:27, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I agree. Mountain Dew Robots would be more ideal because both are Mountain Dew Robots, but the movie version is clearly not the same as the Dewbot in the game. --Kyouraku-taichou 20:40, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
I worked on the Replaced By Robots Team that created the game version of the Dewbot, and no, they are not the same. The team was supposed to be given the model for the Dewbot, but after waiting weeks and not getting it, they eventually had to just create a new one that looked close to the movie version. If I recall correctly, all they had to go on was a hi-res photo from the movie, but I could be wrong. -- KDR 10:56, 29 December 2007
Really? Booh, I think we were going on it being capitalized in the internal game resourced (Uh, decompil'd it.) Oh well, I guess Dewbot has to go into the Unnamed Characters category.
Any chance you could hook us up with a nice rendering of the game-model? *smiles all hungrylike* -Derik 04:28, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Derik, where you get anything about the character being unnamed? Because he uses "the Dewbot" instead od "Dewbot"? --Steve-o 02:15, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't... know. That's somewhat troubling. -Derik 02:59, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Since we have an article called "Pretender" when there are lots, "Mountain Dew Robot" for article on the two of them is right. -Rotty 20:33, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Do not move - Keep it where it is. Make a separate page for the movie one if you want to and use a disambig if necessary.Evan1975 19:07, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Do you have a rationale for that stance? --Steve-o 23:08, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm good with the move, but if Dewbot gets a toy, he goes back here and the other stuff stays there.--chiasaur11 19:08, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

No. Just plain no. They are two characters. Not one. This page stays.--Autobotx1010 21:56, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Hold on; if you're saying they are two different characters then saying the page stays doesn't make sense because they are already grouped together. So, I'd believe you would want an entirely new article to be made; not keep it as it is. --Kyouraku-taichou 02:01, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Hold the phone! I put this post on another talk page! Click on the "article" button at the top of the screen. Now click "talk" again. It`s a totally new talk page! Sorry , you guys must`ve read my post after this festival of wierdness!
I think we agreed awhile ago that this thould actually be three articles... it's just that no one has gotten around to splitting it yet. -Derik 02:25, 19 August 2007 (UTC)--Autobotx1010 19:27, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
There is no point in having three articles. There isn't much to say say about Dewbot, and nearly nothing to say about "Dispensor". It's a much cleaner decision to put all the Mountain Dew stuff in a single article. Who that looks up Dispensor is really not going to want to read about Dewbot at the same time? --Steve-o 14:50, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Mountain dew

I thought it was spelled Mountain Dew? -- SFH 03:47, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Cine Fex Magazine feature.

The latest issue of CineFex magazine (with Optimus on the cover) is out on newstands and includes a wonderful clear decent-sized pic of the movie's MDR in bot mode. I didn't have the cash to pick it up to scan it, but it's a great shot if someone else wants to.--ZacWilliam 20:32, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Uh...

Shouldn't this page STILL be "Mountain Dew Robots"? Since it is not SOLELY about Dispensor? --M Sipher 06:16, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Since Dispensor is getting a toy and a official name and all, I'd suggest splitting this into a page for him, and another for the Capture the Cube game stuff. --KilMichaelMcC 06:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
