So, do we call the clone a seperate character? But for Rampage's death, he would have... remaiend so, but it becoems complicated with DB posessing his own clone, and the two never really... existed side-by-side enough to require seperate pages... And yet- by Wiki standards we seem to consider clones seperate dudes. -Derik 08:01, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

TM2 Dinobot is a separate character. I don't think it's complicated at all, regardless of his totally unexplained personality change in the finale. --KilMichaelMcC 08:16, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

*lick* -Derik 09:17, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

For Dinobot's TM2 entry, notarize that it's a Predacon clone created by Megatron, and decidedly not the original. In it's story background, simply say that 'Originally, an episode was planned which showed Rattrap uploading the original Dinobot's memories into the clone. This episode was not made, however, leaving a serious plot hole for the final season of Beast Wars, and the handling of the Dinobot TM2 character.' --Vanguard

*scratches head* Soo... if you make a new body for Dinobot and load his memories into it off a data backup, it's a new character. But if you make a new body for Optimus Prime... -Derik 17:40, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Point being is that we never actually SEE Dinobot II's memory implant (aside from a very well done fan-comic), so he's still a completely seperate being (a literal twin brother), as far as the cartoon's involved. --Vanguard
No one ever "made a new body for Dinobot," Megatron created a clone of the original that would be loyal to him, and gave it life with half of someone else's spark. --KilMichaelMcC 19:08, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
What he said. --ItsWalky 19:12, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh! Liek prowl and Chip! Why didn't you jsut say so? -Derik 20:04, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

How would the *other* Dinobot clone fit in? You know, the one that he ate?

I would give "Double Dinobot" a new page. P.S. What about a line or two about the Cyber-Raptors?X-BoB58 00:46, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

IIRC, Dinobot's nontransforming clone was officially named 'Clone One.' -Derik 01:01, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Character entries

They should be written "in universe," without breaking the fourth wall. Meaning no "But Jhiaxus how do you live, I thought you died in G2 #11." Never reference the name of an episode out-right. However, you can put the little footnote links to episode pages instead, as I have demonstrated. --ItsWalky 16:33, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Ah. I see, I'll make sure to do that in the future. Tantrum 17:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, but am I the only one who thinkks ldans died to an hero sounds awful

No. That's the joke. --EricMarrs 13:29, 24 January 2007

Yes, but it doesn't suit the feel of the article

Attention, Kitbashers!

I've noticed through several kitbash websites that A lot of people like to kitbash Dinobot's head, making it much more show accurate. Is there anyone who is willing to do this for a commission? If so, contact me via my discussion page. King Starscream 04:01, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Protection (Main Caption)

We should probably get this article protected so people will stop changing the main caption. -- Hunter-113 12:47, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Needs moar Worf captions. Dinobot is Worf.

I personally think the main caption is a needlessly obscure reference to a totally obscure fanfic, and should be replaced by something, y'know, funny, instead of being treated as sacred. Opinions? JW 20:48, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Anyone? JW 13:00, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
But that fanfic is funny. The entire thing is comedy gold! --FortMax 17:14, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
I'll stipulate that, but the question is whether the joke makes sense to a sufficient number of the readers of this wiki. JW 17:25, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Not all jokes around here are by consensus. There's a ton of 'em that I don't get at all, but I assume someone does. -- Repowers 17:27, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
On the one hand, a wiki is nothing but consensus.
More to the point, the quote in question may be contentious enough to warrant its replacement. I.e., it may be dragging the article down. However, I'll grant that, unless there's a lot of support for changing it, and someone suggests a brilliant candidate, it should probably stand. JW 17:34, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
But the problem is that anyone hardly knows it, even the fans. I saw it after i was wondering why the caption was a link...unless i'm missing something here.--Grand-majin 17:24, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
The quote is from a very well-known bad fanfic, and there is a link to that fanfic right there with the quote. We don't generally pick our captions on the basis of what is understandable by the most people, but even if we did, the fact that there is a link right there means it has more explanation than a great many of our jokes. It may be a relatively obscure fanfic now, but nearly anybody who used to read will know of it, and that's not exactly a small group. --Steve-o 03:22, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I submit that the percentage of current readers of this wiki who were readers of back in the day is probably smaller than you imagine. Still, I'll let the matter rest, since some of the bastions of this wiki clearly love the silly thing. JW 03:30, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Mc Dinobot now a new character, kinda

The IDW profile book actually gave MC Dinobot a story, wich is neat, but where does that info go? He was apparently a second failed attempt (between Double Dinobot and Dinobot II) by Megs to clone Dinobot. IDW puts him as a subsection of Dinobot II. We give D2 and Double Dino each their own pages, so do we now give him one too? Thoughts?--ZacWilliam 18:47, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

on a totaly unrelated note, megatron sure likes to clone the guy, does he?--Grand-majin 17:26, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

About Animated...

You know, it's funny? We now have a BlackArachnia in the new Animated... I've been hearing rumors (through this site, actually) about Waspinator coming into this... I could actually come to enjoy Animated with these BW crossovers if Dinobot was also invited to the party somehow, too. Wishful thinking, I suppose. Of course, if that happened... *sighs* you'd have to also bring in Rattrap, I suppose. Part of what made Dinobot so remarkable, almost legendary in TF history aside from his sense of honor... is the verbally-adversarial friendship between Dinobot and Rattrap. It actually reminds me of Spock and McCoy from Star Trek. Next to G1 itself... Dinobot is the one and ONLY thing about Transformers, that I truly miss. I feel safe in assuming that a restriction against outside ideas would be written such that there is no loophole for anonymous suggestions. It would be "No suggestions period".
Also, even as an anonymous user, you still are granted a user Talk page for correspondance. Please read yours. This sort of discussion that you've started is not what article Talk pages on the Wiki are for; they are for discussing improvements to the site. --Sntint 17:27, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

An Hero

I have no problems letting the quote stay as it is - it's not specifically bashing a person out of spite, it's just using an internet meme. A relevant and funny one! Shawn (talk) 00:52, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

But it's not a reference to a 4chan meme. Did you look at the link??? This is all about a young kid who wrote a Beast Wars fanfic about Dinobot, and got ridiculed by Walky and company for it simply because he was too young to write a good story. And that qualifies as a personal attack.
"Meme" != "4chan". "Dinobot's Old Technology" (which was written by MG-Dinobot, not Echowarrior as you seem to think) is one of many memes that are specific to the Transformers fandom. Other examples: "HE TELL ME!", JaAm, and Superman is a Dick. (The latter one is now all over the place, but it started in the Allspark's comic forum) --FortMax 15:48, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
