Are the "books" mentioned in the caption ACTUALLY from something or are they somply made up as a joke? If the latter I would suggest changing it as it's potentially missleading which is a no-no in our humor. --[[User:71.235.142.128|71.235.142.128]] 14:26, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Argh. Why is this pasted from the Wikipedia article? A wikipedia article that's flagged for improper wiki formatting? This needs a total rewrite, and is useless in its current form. --ItsWalky 18:22, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

I swear up, down, back, forth and sideways that I once read that the second copy of the Covenant was not on the Nemesis, but was stolen by Tarantulas before leaving Cybertron, who then left it on the Nemesis, where Megatron found it. Am I going nuts? - Chris McFeely 00:22, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Doesn't ring any bells to me. The only thing we're told is that there's two copies, one on the Ark and one on the Nemesis. Anything beyond that has been left alone, I'm pretty sure. --ItsWalky 00:26, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Mmn, it's just that they never actually say that the second copy was on the Nemesis from the start. Primal says "One copy was aboard the Ark," so that's clear-cut, but when Megatron speaks of the second copy being on the Nemesis, he mentions it as part of a list that also consists of the Predacon control console and the transwarp cell, both of which are the work of Tarantulas, as if the Covenant being there was his doing as well. I have no idea where I actually READ that he pilfered it, but for whatever reason, that's what I've believed up until now without giving it much thought. - Chris McFeely 00:30, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure where Tarantulas would get a CoP, though, or why he would even have one. It's G1 Megatron who has the Covenant of Primus boner (at least, in Dreamwave continuity, and it's implied he took his name from it as well), so it makes sense to me it was there to begin with. --ItsWalky 00:35, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Hadn't thought of G1 Megs's connection to the book... makes sense. Damn, though, I just wish I could figure out where the fudge I read that! - Chris McFeely 00:39, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Aaaand since I was quote hunting for the answer below, the full quote re the covenant is: "Excellent! Even after his demise, the spider's treachery remains my best asset. Observe! A refurbished ship with a transwarp cell. A Predacon control console. And, best of all, a Covenant of Primus!" He's totally crediting Tarantulas with the Covenant being there. - Chris McFeely 00:54, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Did Megatron (BW) name himself after the verses int he CoP? others and the impression that he needs in cell after generation one Megatron Who had named himself after the covenant of primus . -Derik 00:44, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

this will teach me to attempt to use my voice recognition software on the WIKI . -Derik 00:46, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
In "Nemesis," Part 1, Megsy specifically says, "It was from these tracks that I took my name." He chose to name himself after the god-like figure of destruction the book spoke of, who he would ultimately turn out to actually be. It's probably more widely-believed that he took it from G1 Megatron, though, and Dreamwave didn't help that when they had him change his name after reading the information on the Golden Disk, as he if was changing his name after reading about his predecessor. It is, of course, much more fun to think that G1 Megatron took the name from the Covenant as well, so it was actually HE who took BW Megs's name, rather than the other way around. - Chris McFeely 00:52, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
But how did BW Megatron know about that passage if the only copies of the Covenant were on Earth? I always kind of assumed that it was a time paradox with BW Megs taking his name from the original Megatron who in turn took it from the Covenant passage written about BW Megatron (...wow that's confusing), but considering Beast Wars' take on time travel I'm not so sure that makes sense.
Both copies weren't on Earth. There's no indication of what happened to the Covenants between G1 and BW - the one from the Ark may have been taken back to Cybertron, and he read it from that. And as has been discussed a while back, the other copy was not aboard the Nemesis, having been on Cybertron until it was brought back by Tarantulas, so Megs could have stuck his nose in that one, too. - Chris McFeely 22:06, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Caption source?

Are the "books" mentioned in the caption ACTUALLY from something or are they somply made up as a joke? If the latter I would suggest changing it as it's potentially missleading which is a no-no in our humor. --71.235.142.128 14:26, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
