Leader-1 Homage?

Seriously, the coloration, head shape, and alt-mode make him heavily resemble our favorite Guardian leader. So, should it be added to the notes?--Dynamus Prime 02:04, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Didn't Leader-1 have yellow goggles though? I'm reluctant to note that a gray fighter-jet resembles a gray fighter-jet (it's the most common real-world color!) unless it was intentional-- in which case you'd think his goggles would the yellow, not green. -Derik 02:21, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
However, Bug Bite was an homage (actually, the same character), yet he had a real face and was white instead of yellow.--Dynamus Prime 02:23, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

I think the fact that they did not SAY he was an homage in the explanatory text on the Hasbro page that talked about what inspired the decos all that pretty much ices that theory. Frankly, "coincidental visual similarity" does not equal "homage", and I'm fucking sick of seeing it spewed here. LOOK A MILITARY GREEN VEHICLE HAS AN ARMY STAR THAT MUST BE A HOUND HOMAGE OR A GURREN LAGAN HOMAGE! --M Sipher 03:03, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

I think it's sometimes valid point out unintentional similarities of appearance... but as I mentioned earlier... gray is the most common real-world color for fighters like this, so similarity isn't really notable unless there was intention behind it. -Derik 03:09, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Also, let's face it, if it's an homage to ANYTHING, it's the GIJoe Skystriker, given that one of the other toys in the same set is CLEARLY a fucking Rattler. Whether or not the helicopter guy is supposed to be a Dragonfly is beyond me, but probably pushing it. -hx 19:06, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
