The way Blitzwing at the beggining wanted to choose the jet in a curious face and a tank in a cross face and then he chose both in crazy face is that if he is calm, he can only transform in jet mode, if he is angry, he can only transform in tank mode, but as Mad Bliztwing, he can become both. BBTS has pics of jet mode and robot mode up on their Blitzwing preorder page now. Can we use pics from them? [http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS15597&mode=retail&picture=aux1]--[[User:Inevitable Betrayal|Inevitable Betrayal]] 13:16, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Revision as of 13:16, July 3, 2008

Considering the way his Angry face talks, might it be worth it to replace the Letterman reference with an Arnold Schwarzenegger reference? --Detour 19:21, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Works either way for me, but Letterman's just who I thought of first. Of course, as you note, with the whole Teutonic accent thing (NB: I haven't seen the episode yet, but that's not a big spoiler for me), Ah-nold might be a closer comparison. The idea of a feverish Letterman strikes me as funnier, though.--Apcog 20:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Good point, but Arnold also has a gap in his teeth. I think the ressemblance to Arnold was intentional, much like that Rainier Wolfcastle fellow. --Detour 20:37, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Point taken, especially now that I've watched the scene myself--Apcog 23:32, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Are we all agreed that the term "Schizophrenic" should be included in this description? Bento180 01:46, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Schizophrenic doesn't actually mean multiple personalities, so no. --KilMichaelMcC 02:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Toy Feet

Okay, whenever we get a pic of his robot mode, I nominate it be captioned: "i hAv FEEEET!11 yAy!"--Apcog 23:32, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey where is his vehicle mode? Do you have any proof that he is a triple changer?(EDD! 01:07, 5 January 2008 (UTC))

Yes. --ItsWalky 01:10, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Well where is it then? I will pay you $9999999999 dollars if you can show an image of him in his two vehicle modes.(EDD! 01:12, 5 January 2008 (UTC))

They were seen at BotCon, so the pictures aren't publically available. - Chris McFeely 01:13, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Trivia section

For the sake of wiki integrity (I'll wait while you snicker), I'd recommend establishing a citation ASAP for that interview mentioning the idea for the character who can transform into anything. Also, while it's kind of interesting, I think the whole tie-in to three-faced representations of Buddha/Hindu deities is really tangential at best.--Apcog 15:34, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Okay, citation's in. (Thank you, Walky.)--Apcog 15:45, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
"I think the whole tie-in to three-faced representations of Buddha/Hindu deities is really tangential at best" How do you feel about the Man-E-Faces and Ashuraman stuff? It's equally relevant. JW 15:58, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Man-E-Faces is a toy with a three-face switching gimmick. As such, it is just slightly more relevant to another toy with a three-face switching gimmick than, say, Hindu mythology.--RosicrucianTalk 16:11, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Do we want to open the door for every instance of "this toy has a gimmick like this other non-Transformers toy"?
Or, if the three-faces thing is unusual enough to warrant an exception, the fact that it appears in two of the world's oldest religions, with 1.3 billion followers between them, might bear mentioning. Just saying. JW 16:22, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Thing is, the three-face spinning gimmick's not turned up very much in toys--certainly not Stateside. Man-E-Faces and this upcoming Blitzwing are the only ones I know of to use it. In addition, Man-E-Faces was specifically mentioned at Hasbro's Comic-Con International panel last year as a design inspiration. While the three-faced deities have been around longer, I'd say their influence on the design of Blitzwing was far more indirect. Ashuraman earns an honorable mention as one other toy per se with the gimmick. As a compromise of sorts, Ashuraman WAS more directly influenced by the Hindu deities/three-faced Buddha, as it was produced for a Japanese market, where such influences on toy designs are more common. (It IS named Ashuraman after all.)--Apcog 16:45, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
My vote's with Apcog on this. A toyline that started in the 80s drawing influence from anther toyline that started in the 80s? Not too big of a leap. Toy company designers deciding that their Gestopo commander crazy German guy is going to draw influence from a Hindu god? Uhhhhhh... I think we'd need a cite on that. -- Repowers 16:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, given all that, let me try a rewrite. JW 16:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
"Thing is, the three-face spinning gimmick's not turned up very much in toys--certainly not Stateside. Man-E-Faces and this upcoming Blitzwing are the only ones I know of to use it." Somewhere, an Alpha Quintesson toy cries. —Interrobang 03:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
KICKER KICKER MY FACES KICKER. Ahem...yes, I forgot about AQ.--Apcog 20:25, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

No Toy?

I read somewhere that either blitzwing wasent getting a toy or that he was gonna be a botcon exculsive, i know that would be realy stupid, because not everyone can get to botcon, but it is true that we havet actualy seen any TOY pictures. Pleese tell me its confirmed he is getting a toy Editoroflife 00:30, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

He is confirmed. People have seen prototypes. There just isn't anything officially released that we can put up as a picture yet.--RosicrucianTalk 00:33, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
that's the first I've heard of a prototype existing. all I knew about was the concept art.--Carrion 02:49, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank Primus for that! anywhere i can see a prototype for myself? Editoroflife 00:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, we're starting to see leaked toy shots now so there's no doubt he has a toy with the face switching gimmick. [4] --RosicrucianTalk 18:18, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Faces

Are you sure his head spins like Quintessons?(MARV 2000 23:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC))

Yes, actually there are pictures of Blitzwing's toy on TransformersAnimated.com, that shows both of his alt-modes, robot-mode and all three faces! --IguanaNik 12:03, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

should we mention that his angry face seems to feature Dull surprise--Skyglide 01:23, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

triple image

Wondering if that should be swapped for one featuring pics form his earth days, since they're more detailed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.2.183.174 (talkcontribs).

Names and Faces

I notice there are a number of edits going on now that name the calm Blitzwing as "Icy", the angry one as "Hothead", and the crazy one as "Random". Are these official, or was there just some sort of consensus discussion? Just curious.--Apcog 17:48, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

I've asked Mudtallica about it. -- SFH 17:50, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
And he says that Sipher says that they're the official names. -- SFH 17:51, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

"cheat"

To further clarify on what i mean by that last edit: Similiar to Bumblebee,it LOOKS like the toy model cheats, while the show model uses the same cheat. The best example can be seen in Lost and found when he scans the tank. The tank he chooses already has the true holes on the side, just like the toy.86.87.28.191 20:09, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

I noticed one thing

The way Blitzwing at the beggining wanted to choose the jet in a curious face and a tank in a cross face and then he chose both in crazy face is that if he is calm, he can only transform in jet mode, if he is angry, he can only transform in tank mode, but as Mad Bliztwing, he can become both.
