Survive is a Maximal from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation One continuity family.

As long as I know how to love, I'll always be alive.

Survive is almost the polar opposite of Big Convoy. He believes that the only way to achieve victory is to do so as a team. He despises solo actions and has a very unpleasant impression of Big Convoy, who prefers to do just that. Survive desperately wants to have Big Convoy placed under his leadership and retrained as a team-player. The opportunity for this has yet to arise.

His buddy drone is True One, a reconnaissance scout who can communicate wordlessly with Survive using a special sound wave. They have a good relationship, but sometimes fight over honey.

Survive was a drill sergeant and training instructor among the Maximals. Known as the "Demon Bear", he was infamous among recruits for his strict and uncompromising training methods. Survive preferred not to rely upon weapons, and encouraged his trainees to focus on hand-to-hand combat as well. One of his more troublesome students was the independent Big Convoy. Although a formidable fighter, Big Convoy insisted on fighting on his own and would not advance to the leadership position which Survive knew he had the potential to claim.

In time, Survive's now-former student Big Convoy was given command of a squad of trainees aboard the Gung Ho. After some time in the field, Survive was instructed to make contact with the Gung Ho and assess how the trainees had progressed. On Planet Stero, Survive set an ambush for the Maximals by using a fake transmitter to simulate an Angolmois capsule reading. He attacked the field team of Break, Stampy, and Mach Kick, overpowering the crew. Upon announcing himself officially, Survive had Big Convoy and the rest of the crew assemble for his inspection. Survive had doubts about the crew's effectiveness after dismantling them, and threatened to send back a poor report on Big Convoy's leadership.

When a group of Predacons arrived to confront the Maximals, Survive gave the trainees another chance to prove themselves by fighting under his command. He deployed a smokescreen to retreat and regroup in a more favorable battlefield. Heinrad was used as a decoy to lure the Predacons into position for personal combat. Survive ordered the Maximals not to fire their weapons and reveal their position, but Break and the others disobeyed his order when they saw Heinrad taking damage. Survive ordered another retreat, but the Predacons used their teleporter to flank the Maximals. The Maximals tried to comply with Survive's head-first methods, but they weren't used to such a fighting style. Instead, they fell back on Big Convoy's more flexible teachings and won the day.

The Predacons' intelligence officer Killer Punch had initiated the attack because he believed Survive and Big Convoy were at odds with one another, and would be distracted by squabbling. Survive refused to even consider that Big Convoy would speak poorly of him when Killer Punch suggested it, though. Despite their different methods, the teacher thought highly of his student, and likewise. After Big Convoy saved Survive from the Predacon, Survive dismiss the Gung Ho crew with passing marks. He personally commended Big Convoy on adapting his flexible style to leadership, and encouraged him on with his mission. Survive the Hot-Blooded Instructor

And you see me, somebody new.

Survive usually took on the rejects of the Maximal Military Academy and whipped them up to shape. Beast Wars Sourcebook #4

Alongside Tasmania Kid and Cohrada, Survive came with Big Convoy to investigate Shokaract's tower after various Angolmois-related murders. When Shokaract himself soon emerged from the tower and attacked them, Survive fought back, but was quickly killed along with his teammates. The Ascending #3

Fortunately, the Pack managed to use the magic of time travel to interrupt Shokaract before Survive and the others met their end at his hands (except Tasmania Kid, who died regardless). In this new timeline, Big Convoy's team traveled to the Pack's crashed starship and had the situation explained to them. With the Pack and several other Maximals and Predacons on their side, Survive and the others ultimately managed to foil Shokaract's plans. The Ascending #4
