A Decepticon in the Generation 1 continuity family Slog is.
Slog-mtmte

From upright humanoid robot to shorter upright humanoid robot monster.

One of the most refined and sophisticated Decepticons around Slog is. Originally recruited to produce great works of art he was, the glory and recording the rise of the great Decepticon Empire he praised. Soon, discovered his masters did that just as well he worked in the battlefield as in a studio, and like Buzzsaw before him, an artist of the warzone Slog became, Autobots into abstract modern art "masterpieces" he carved.

A grotesque monster Slog might appear to be, given his artwork. In fact, fights only when he must to stay alive he does, and make each fallen foe a work of art to honor their memory he tries. A warrior at heart he is not, the wild abandon of creating destructive art from non-living material he likes, but troubled by the lives lost in the Autobot/Decepticon conflict he remains. This troubled spirit it was, lead to the founding of the Slogism movement it did. The utilization of his work by the Autobots and his general doubts about the cause have put him on the outs with his superiors. Because care about how others view them, the Decepticons do.

Like Windcharger before him, a powerful magnetic ability Slog wields. Uses it to manipulate and tear other robots apart he does.

With his fellow Pretender Monsters he combines when Monstructor they form.

So in the future there is absolutely no shame.

In an alternate future where the Decepticons had conquered much of Earth, Slog and his fellow Pretender Monsters were led by Galvatron to the remains of New York City in an attempt to root out the last remaining vestiges of Autobot and human resistance. All they managed to find, however, was a human-made booby trap that buried Icepick under tons of debris. Slog exited his Pretender shell to dig out his comrade, reflecting that Galvatron's madness would ultimately destroy them all.

Not long later, he and the others rejoined the Decepticons to defend the Decepticon Powerbase against an Autobot attack. Slog's role in the battle, and its final outcome, is unknown.

He was poetic, in a Yoda-esque kinda way. And also adorable. Rhythms of Darkness!

Forever destined to stand in Bludgeon's shadow... literally.

Slog was among a group of Decepticons who made a deal with Cobra-La, receiving power-enhancing organic shells in exchange for defending Cobra-La's underground kingdom. They attacked a trio of Autobots aboard the submerged Arc II, then as Monstructor, defended the kingdom against surface attack by GI Joe. Black Horizon, Part 2

IDW Generation 1 comics

Long millennia ago, Monstructor was the first gestalt, constructed out of the individual Pretender Monsters. Created by Jhiaxus under the direction of Nova Prime, they were intended to be the ultimate fusion of mind and body, a vast amount of intellect combined with unparalleled strength. Unfortunately, they were driven into insanity by the merging process and became monsters. After Nova Prime departed Cybertron in the Ark, Omega Supreme locked them in a dimensionally displaced prison to live out the rest of their horrid existence. Eventually, they escaped and tracked down and attacked Omega Supreme, but were defeated by Optimus Prime and split apart into their individual bodies. Despite Omega Supreme's protestations about the dangers of gestalt technology falling into Decepticon hands, Prime had them taken into custody in an attempt to repair their shattered minds. Spotlight: Optimus Prime

The attempt was failing, despite Jetfire's best attempts, when the Decepticons launched an assault on the Garrus-9 penal facility to capture the combiners. Despite the release of the dangerous Arcee, the Combaticons successfully captured the Monsters, including Slog - Arcee is now tracking them. Spotlight: Arcee

The breakout of the "Monstructor Six" eventually made its way to the Autobot Orbital Command Hub, and from there to Optimus Prime. Although Earth was currently facing the threat of Megatron and Sixshot, Prime decided that they couldn't risk allow the Decepticons to gain gestalt technology, and ordered Prowl's team to abandon Earth and head to Garrus-9. Devastation

Note: Thus far in IDW's universe, Slog, et al. are not actually Pretenders.

Pretenders hide the... chunky thing.... inside.

Slog's Pretender shell is a sort of dumpy, spikey, finned monster thing. His inner robot is the largest of the Pretender Monsters and unfolds in a comparatively complex fashion to combine with them to form the shoulders and upper torso of Monstructor. His simple transformation to beast mode is similar to that of both Icepick and Scowl. He comes with his shell, shell plate, a small rifle, a large rifle for Monstructor, and Monstructor's head.
The inner robot mold and combiner kibble was used to make Kakuryū. Ironically, Slog's inner robot depicts Kakuryū a bit more accurately from the Transformers Victory cartoon. This isn't the first time for this to happen to a Japanese exclusive character.
Slog is also a victim of Gold Plastic Syndrome.
