Transformers: Rescue Bots is a franchise, containing cartoon and toy line, aimed at audiences aged 3 and above. The play of the franchise focuses on the teamwork of the Autobots and humans in the Rescue Bots animated series that promotes teamwork and cooperation in the setting of rescuing people instead of war violence and fighting Decepticons. It is part of Playskool's Heroes multi-property brand.

The animated television series premiered on the Hub on February 18, 2012. The cast consists entirely of Autobots and humans, and uses such voice actors as Peter Cullen and Steve Blum. But unlike most series, Optimus Prime isn't a main character. He has a cameo appearance in the Animated series.

Toy line

The actual toys in the line are very simple, like the Go-Bots line released by Hasbro in 2004. This is because of the age group the toys are aimed for. Most are Activators style in transformation, or only need a few steps to fully change them in to their robot forms. There are also two fold and carry play-sets in the form of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime's faces.

The larger, non-transformable, electronic figures come with small, poseable figures of the Human characters, another feature in the line, these are also sold separately with their own Rescuing tools.
