The heroic Rebel Alliance, commonly referred to as just "the Rebels", is a faction driving an organized rebellion against the Empire. They have a base called Echo Base and are numerous enough to have their own fleet of starfighters.
Known Rebels include Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and R2-D2.
