A timeline for the events of the [[Movie (franchise)|2007 live action film]] Transformers continuity.

  +
Also, this timeline is best taken with a grain of salt, since half the info here contradicts information from other sources, leading to some confusing gaps and holes in dates, times, etc.

==Prehistory==
  +
* Before Time Began: There was “The Cube”.
  +
* ??BC: The Cube’s power results in the creation of the planet Cybertron, along with a race of robotic lifeforms. These sentient machines create a peaceful and just civilization on their homeworld.
  +
* ??BC: For two generations, “brothers” Lord High Protector Megatron and Optimus Prime co-rule Cybertron. Prime acts as the just leader, while Megatron serves to be the strength and strict side of the equation.
  +
* ??BC: Megatron eventually comes to desire the All Spark's power for himself, envisioning Cybertron becoming the head of an intergalactic Empire. When Prime opposes this plan, Megatron engineers a rebellion army of his own called the Decepticons. In order to stop his evil brother, Prime creates the Autobot group with the intention of permanantly defeating the Decepticons, and a planet-wide civil war for control of the All Spark begins. During the course of this conflict, the innovation of ‘Transforming’ technology is invented.
  +
The civil war culminates in the Battle of Tyger Pax: while the main Autobot forces hold the Decepticons back at Simfur, a smaller team under Luitenant Bumblebee buys those in Tyger Pax the time they need for their leader Optimus Prime to secretely launch the All Spark into a wormhole deep within space. Megatron leaves Cybertron to follow it, but not before angrily damaging Bumblebee’s vocal processors; thus, Bumblebee temporarily loses the ability to speak.[1]
  +
* ??BC: After "countless solar spans", Megatron tracks the All Spark to Earth, but the planet’s gravitational pull damages his telemetry, causing the Decepticon leader to crash-land into the Antarctic ice, and is lost…[2]

==1800's==

* 1807 AD: Former-Decepticon Mainframe flees Cybertron after attempting to unseat Megatron in a coup, he eventually settles on Earth. Note: this event is irreconcilable with the main timeline.
  +
* 1897 AD: The National Arctic Circle Expedition commanded by Captain Archibald Witwicky discovers a great metallic "devil" buried deep beneath the arctic ice. A curious Archibald fiddles with the electronic devices, accidentally activating Megatron’s navigation system. The coordinates to the location of the AllSpark on the planet Earth was burned into the explorer’s glasses.

* 1898 AD: Captain Witwicky, now blind and raving, is confined to the Boston Secure Hospital. Two Victorian-style strangers with an interest in the "unusual" listen to his story, and decide to cover it all up while embarking on a government-sponsored expedition to investigate. These men are the precursors of Sector Seven. Witwicky's personal effects are sent on to his family.

* 1899 AD: Proto-Sector Seven erects a dome above the partially excavated "Mega-Man".

==1900's==
  +
* 1913 AD: The All Spark is discovered by (now-named) Sector Seven, located underwater in Colorado.[3]

* 1924 AD: Captain Witwicky is still alive and locked up in the wonderfully un-politically correct Psychopathic Institute for the Long-Term Insane in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

* 1935 AD: In Utah, a Sector Seven base is secretely built deep-within the Hoover Dam to study the alien cube. Plans are made to transfer the Mega-Man to this facility very soon; Fall, at the latest. For reasons unknown, this plan is delayed for

* 1938 AD: Captain Witwicky dies on August 13th, and is succeeded by his son Clarence, continuing the Witwicky line.

* 1969 AD: Sector Seven, headed by Walter Simmons, attempts the first test flight of an “Ice Man” (as the Mega Man is now nicknamed)-derived spacecraft (Ghost 1) using the Apollo 11 moon launch as cover. At the same time the first attempt was made to relocate the Ice Man himself from the Arctic to southern Nevada to be better studied alongside the likewise mysterious "cube". Signs seemed to point to Sector Seven beginning to shift from being a secret US military operation to a non-military "black ops" program. Two Transformer spaceships, the Autobot’s Ark and the Decepticons’ Nemesis, clash over the Ghost 1 in a distant solar system and learn of Megatron's (and possibly the All Spark's) location on Earth, though not the location of Earth itself.
  +
Shortly after around this time, S7 begins to refer to the Ice Man as Non Biological Extra-terrestrial-1 (N.B.E.-1).

* 1977 AD: August 15th. The Big Ear radio telescope detects the WOW! signal. Sector Seven designates the sender (Optimus Prime) as N.B.E.-2. This designation was later be reassigned to Bumblebee, possibly under the belief that he was the same being.

* 1982 AD: Starscream is caught on video around the world; Laos (March 12, 1982), India (April 22, 1982), and Estonia (May 9, 1982) before transforming on camera in Sacremento, California (June 16, 1982). The subsequent Sector Seven Incident Report issued on July 17, 1982 issued a directive to inact “Operation Hungry Dragon”.
  +
* 1983 AD: March 15th. To control the previous year's leaks[4] about the N.B.E.’s, S7 Industries engineers the creation (in partnership with the Japanese toy company Takara and the American Hasbro) of a toy/cartoon show franchise about giant alien robots that disguise themselves as Earth machines and technology, which will allow S7 to actually go public with their current known-information concerning the Transformers…but in a fictional context, thus reducing the level of confidentiality while disguising the “truth” in the form of a media cash-cow. This operation is codenamed Hungry Dragon.

==2000's==

* 2003 AD: A facility in Colorado uses the Hubble Space Telescope to photograph Bumblebee landing on Mars. They then track his landing on Earth in Virginia. However, he manages to slip their detection by adopting a local alt-form. Meanwhile, in suburbia, the latest in the Witwicky family line, Ronald Witwicky, passes on Archibald’s priceless equipment and effects to his callow young son, Sam. Reggie Simmons takes command of the operation to track down N.B.E.-2. Decepticons Starscream, Blackout, and Barricade arrive on Mars, hot on Bumblebee's trail.
  +
This happens to be the same time that the Beagle-2 Mars Rover lands on the red planet, and the Decepticons gladly destroy the machine…but not before the device sends back video footage of it’s last moments, revealing the menacing silhouette of a Transformer. Sector Seven forces NASA to cover up the incident by having them report the mission a “complete failure” to the public.
  +
* 2007 AD: US Soccent Air Base in Quatar, Iraq, is suddenly attacked by a mysterious Black Hawk helicopter that transforms into a trigger-happy robot. The base is utterly destroyed, and all but a few desperate soldiers are slaughtered…
  +
In suburbia USA, the teenage Samuel James Witwicky tries to auction off his ancestor’s effects in a show-and-tell class, almost costing him an A grade which he needs to sucker his father into buying Sam his first car. The two drive to a crappy low-rent car sale run by Bobby Bolivia (like the country, ‘cept without the runs), and Bumblebee (disguised as a battered antique 1976 Camaro) cleverly manipulates the sale so that he is purchased by the Witwickys.
  +
The survivors of the Quatar attack fend off Scorponok while the military comes to the rescue. The Transformers’ weakness to sabot-rounds is revealed, and the ammunition is loaded onto all weapons.
  +
Playing bodyguard for Sam from the Decepticons, who want the glasses of Archibald that tells where to find the AllSpark, Bumblebee summons his fellow Autobots to Earth and, after explaining the situation to both Sam and his crush Mikaela Banes, they all are confronted by Sector Seven agents, who suceed in capturing a helpless Bumblebee. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Defense John Keller is informed by S7 agent Tom Bannecheck of the truth concerning the Transformers. Keller, Sam, Mikaela, Bumblebee, C William Lennox, Seargent Epps and two computer hackers are brought to Hoover Dam, where they are shown the frozen N.B.E.-1 and the AllSpark.
  +
The Decepticons arrive to free their leader and steal the cube, but Bumblebee takes the AllSpark and he, with the other Autobots and his human allies, flee to Mission City. An epic, devastating battle explodes in, around, above and within the streets of the city. Megatron kills the Autobot Jazz, and is defeated by Sam Witwicky when the boy crams the AllSpark into the exposed chest, frying Megatron’s circuits with raw energon and killing him.
  +
The Autobots decide to stay on Earth, and the remains of the beaten Decepticons are dumped deep into the ocean. Starscream, the treacherous second-in-command of the Decepticons, however, escapes alive and retreats into space…
