―Megatron about Soundwave in Minus One.

Megatron has a close connection with Soundwave. The two met on Cybertron where they were both Gladiators in Kaon. After some time, they came to respect each other. the faceless 'Con even came close to defeating Megatron, a feat few Cybertronians are capable of. Soundwave became the very first of Megatron's followers that would rise to stop the oppression of Caste System and by far became his most loyal ally. Soundwave is the one Cybertronian that Megatron can truly trust and it is most likely Megatron considers Soundwave as a friend due to the tone he normally addresses him with.

It is clearly shown that Megatron has more respect for him than any other of his Decepticons. Soundwave has always followed his masters commands and has never doubted his judgment which proves that Soundwave is incredibly loyal to Megatron. This loyalty was shown when Megatron was in stasis as Soundwave believed that his master would recover and would not allow Starscream to end his master's life. As of now it is unknown if Megatron found out of Soundwave's banishment to the Shadowzone or if Soundwave ever knew of Megatron's self banishment in outer space.

One could say that Megatron and Soundwave are like Deception versions of Optimus Prime and Ratchet. No matter what, Soundwave never questions Megatron's plans nor does Megatron ever adress Soundwave in any threating tone.

Shockwave[]

"Shockwave! This is quite an unexpected turn. I thought you had perished on Cybertron."
―Megatron to Shockwave.
Megatron & Shockwave

Megatron and Shockwave

Megatron's Second-in-Command of Science, and he was his 'Mad Scientist' on Cybertron. When Shockwave was found on Cyberton by Knock Out, Megatron was surprised, because he was informed by Starscream that he had perished. Megatron welcomed Shockwave back on the Decepticon ranks and Shockwave was seen to hang around the Nemesis for a while. Yet, when Starscream's armada failed to attack Wheeljack, Bulkhead and Miko, Shockwave decided it would be best if they bring one of his latest creations from his lab on Cybertron to Earth. Shockwave brought his Predacon creation to the Decepticon citadel via Groundbridge. Megatron was deeply impressed by Shockwave's "tampering with creation". Shockwave sent his creation to attack the Autobots, but the creature returned after failing its first mission. When the Autobots attacked the Decepticon citadel, Shockwave suggested that they use the Predacon once again. This time, the Predacon was bridged to the Arctic where it swiftly frozed. The Decepticons escaped when Optimus Prime returned in a new body and destroyed the Citadel.

During this time, Megatron and Shockwave worked on Project Predacon in which they were trying to clone an army of Predacon clones to work for the Decepticon cause. The Predacon had returned from the Arctic and was placed uder Starscream's command. Before and after the terrocon attack on the Warship, Megatron commlinked Shockwave about the essentials of Project Predacon. This plan backfired when the Predacon transformed right in front of Shockwave, Megatron, Starscream and Knock Out. However, after Shockwave agreed with Megatron of letting the Autobots destroy Shockwave's lab full of Predacon clones, their plan went to restoring the Omega Lock. Shockwave questioned Megatron of ruling two worlds and Megatron replied that he wouldn't truly rule one world without ruling two. When Ratchet was captured and brought aboard the Nemesis, Shockwave and Megatron used the cortical physic patch to get the information from his head which was that they must help Ratchet finish his work on Synthetic Energon.

In Predacons Rising, Shockwave and Starscream saw Megatron resurrected at the Predacon graveyard. They found out that Unicron had taken over Megatron's body but they couldn't do anything about it. However, Optimus Prime was able to defeat Unicron and Shockwave may have left the Decepitcons like Megatron did. Though Shockwave remains one of Megatron's most loyal decepticons, he does struggle when his master's plans collide with his logical views. He also isn't willing to unessecarily throw his life recklessly for the cause nor when Megatron was murdered.

Starscream[]

Chain of Command Starscream and Megatron
"Do not take me for a fool Starscream!!! I have been wise to your transgressions from the beginning. Not only did you pluck the dark energon from my chest, in a failed attempt to snuff my spark, but you tried to raise your own undead warrior with it. It's not secret that you lost an arm in the process which you've since had replaced."
―Megatron to Starscream.
"Forgive me master! My intentions were true. Please! Please reconsider my termination."
―Starscream to Megatron.

To say that Starscream frustrates Megatron would be an understatement. Optimus may be his arch enemy in terms of ideology and ideals, however, no other character goes more on Megatron's nerve than his cowardly second-in-command. Megatron and Starscream met during the former's ascension to power as a leader, which Starscream willingly joined. Already a commander of Energon Seeker's, Starscream was not born poorly into the Catse System of Cybertron like other Decepticons. Starscream did not see Megatron as grand as others, however, he did admire his power and loyal followers. Sometime after joining with the group, Megatron decided that Starscream was worthy of becoming his second-in-command. Megatron believed the young Decepticon would be one of his finest warriors someday. Their relationship changed completely when Megatron left Starscream in charge for three years. When Megatron returned Starscream wanted the throne again and made many assassination attempts eventually driving him to leave the Decepticon ranks. Not foolish and overly arrogant like his egotistical second-in-command, Megatron understood that Starscream tried to usurp him of his leader position following the SpaceBridge exlposion. Fed up with all the scheming, Megatron never wasted a second to teach Starscream the Decepticon hiarchy, beating him within an inch of his life. Throughout his rouge path, Starscream constantly interferred with Megatron's plans. Megatron eventually welcomed Starscream back into the Decepticon ranks claiming Starscream was more valuable with him than against him. Megatron even told Starscream to not make him regret sparing his life over terminating Dreadwing. Starscream tried to please Megatron from that point on, which he is seen to hang with his master to observe the destroyed Autobot base in Darkest Hour and in Darkmount, NV. Starscream often earned his ire only redeeming himself with his plan to destroy the Predacons. When Megatron was freed from Unicron, Starscream told him he could still win the war for the Decepticons. However, Megatron announced his distaste for inflicting oppression as he told Starscream the Decepticons were over and had to scream at Starscream to silence him before leaving Cybertron.

The question for why Starscream would chose to return to Megatron's ranks after going rogue remains unclear to the Decepticon leader himself too. Starscream's loyalty has been nack and forth numerous times in the show, perplexing both sides of the war. Despite his countless failings, assassination attempts and all around unpredictable nature, Megatron seems to prefer having him around. This was proven when he chose to execute Dreadwing instead of Starscream, most likely because Dreadwing became to independent and strong to control. Though Megatron was more powerful than the Seeker Commander, he doesn't respond as well to a beating as Starscream. The smaller Decepticon remains Megatron's personal punching bag and victim of his unrelenting vocal jabs. Ironacly, Megatron partly orchastrates his own demise by treating Starscream so cruely, forcing the immense hate between the two. The reason Starcscream returned to Megatron in Season 3 is most likely because he has no other options for protection. The fact that an entire episode of the Second Season was deicated to unravel where Starscream's true intentions lie, explains just how conveluded and complex his raleationship with his master is.

Knock Out[]

Plus one Megatron and Knock Out

Knock Out served as Megatron's doctor when he was recovering from the spacebridge explosion. Despite how much he has done for him, Megatron still treats Knock Out with little respect. From his point of view, Knock Out's medical field outweigh what he can do as a warrior, therefore Megatron confides him often to the lab. Though Knock Out does manage to give Megatron the occasional victory, the Decepticon leader urges him to "keep his vanity in check", breaking the narcissist's confidence. He and Starscream had planned to overthrow Megatron while he was in a coma, even in Patch where Knock Out attempted to cut off the link with Megatron's mind with the Cortical Phyic Patch only to be halted by Dreadwing.

In Predacons Rising, Megatron didn't seem to care that Knock Out defected to the Autobots. Knock Out showed no signs of hatred towards Megatron.

Breakdown[]

During Megatron's weakened state Breakdown would occasionally help Knock Out by buffing Megatron's body. Despite this Megatron had shown to hold a rather low opinion of Breakdown. He views the rather meak brute as a clumsy oaf, especially following the loss of is optic. When Breakdown was captured by MECH he refused to rescue him stating that he was unworthy by being defeated by those smaller and weaker than himself. Breakdown offerd his help as a sign of redemption to recovered the Polarity Quantlet, though his master held mcuh doubt in his abilities to handle an Autobot. Megatron however did appear to have some sense of decency toward Breakdown when he learned what Cylas had done with his former officer's corpse and had the man punished for his crimes by giving him to an eager Knock Out to punish.

Airachnid (formerly)[]

"You are a gracious audience my lord."
― Airachnid to Megatron.

At some point between his journey from Cybertron to Earth and his return to the planet, Megatron met Airachnid. She joined his ranks on Earth after she was forced to accompany Breakdown back to the Nemesis.[1] Through her work for him, he promoted her to second-in-command. Megatron started telling her things, such as several of his attempts on Starscream's life and the latter's begging for it. However, as time went on, Airachnid proved to be almost as treacherous as Starscream had been in her position.

One of the most, if not the tipping point for Megatron's realization of her true intentions, was when she opted to leave Megatron behind as he and the Autobots fought Unicron. The latter would have done so, if not for the interference of Soundwave, whom easily defeated her in battle and causing her to yield.[2] Now weary of his current second-in-command being just as scheeming as Starscream, Megatron kept a close eye from that point of.

Megatron and Airachnid

When Airachnid opted to dispose of Arcee herself after she arrived on the Nemesis, Megatron stopped her.[3] After Airachnid's continuous attempts to become leader of the Decepticons, Megatron decided her loyalty for him was false and ordered her to be executed while on a mission accompanied by Dreadwing and Breakdown. This proved unsuccessful, however, as Breakdown was killed by Airachnid and the latter escaped with her life. This angered Megatron, disappointed in Dreadwing's first failed mission and even more that Breakdown's remains were gone. Airachnid would soon challenge Megatron to approach her and he accepted, being greeted by her new Insecticon and successfully defeating the brute. However, he soon found himself unable to continue fighting, with all his energy drained from the fight and was in Autobot custody as she was chased away by Arcee. Airachnid was turned into a Terrorcon by Dark Energon and Synthetic Energon-infused Breakdown and is on one of Cybertron's moons with her army of Insecticons which she is eating one by one.

Despite Airachnid leaving the Nemesis, she may still look up to Megatron the most. One could say that Megatron and Airachnid are like dark versions of Optimus Prime and Arcee.

Dreadwing[]

Alpha Omega
"Lord Megatron. I live to serve."
―Dreadwing to Megatron.

With Starscream and Airachnid gone rouge, Megatron appointed Dreadwing as his new second-in-command. He considered Dreadwing one of his finest officers, despite Dreadwing's overt interest in revenge for his brother, and his strong sense of honor. Next to him and Soundwave, Dreadwing was by far his most skilled, powerful fand loyal follower. However, Megatron would be more disappointed than usual when Deadwing's failed missions outweighed his successes. Though eventually Starscream was welcomed back and Dreadwing was urged by his leader to find a way to cooperate. This would not happen, as he tried to kill Starscream for what he'd done to his brother's corpse. Megatron realised Dreadwing had found out that Starscream resurrected Skyquake and left him trapped in the shadowzone. Megatron also realized that Dreadwing had lost all his loyalty to him and had outlived his usefulness and was forced to stop his former 1st Lieutenant by shooting him with his own cannon. Megatron may have felt a little remorse for killing off Dreadwing, as he tells Starscream in Thirst that no one was given more than one chance to survive except for him. How and why Megatron would chose Starscream above Dreadwing seems strange at first, however, it remained evident that his command over the Seeker was limited ever since Dreadwing prioritized Skyquake's death above Megatron's orders.

Enemies (Formerly)[]

Optimus Prime[]

"Megatron must be stopped no matter the cost."
―Optimus Prime to his Autobots before their fight against Megatron and the Decepticons.
"Megatron! You and I once united to save a world from Unicron. We must do so again."
―Optimus to Megatron.
"Even Megatron has demonstrated on this day. Every sentient being has the capacity for change."
―Optimus noting Megatron's good side.

Optimus and Megatron fighting side by side

When the two were known as Orion Pax and Megatronus, they were very good friends, almost like brothers. They both envisioned a Cybertronian society where the current caste system was gone and Cybertronians used Space Bridges and explored the universe. Despite their differing backgrounds they were each able to gather large groups of followers. Orion dubbed his movement the Autobots (for Autonomus Robots) while Megatronus' movement was dubbed Decepticons by the High Council. Megatronus thought if telling the truth was a deception, he was gladly guilty of doing so. The two presented their ideas to the Council, Megatronus, now Megatron, was rejected after he arrogantly demanded to overthrow the Council and demanded to be named the next Prime. When the council approved Orion's ideas they renamed him Optimus Prime and told him he was now leader of all Cybertron. Megatron, furious that he was robbed of his rightful title believed Optimus had used him for a personal power play. Thwarted of his genuine ambitions for a better Cybertronian society and personal desires as the planet's leader and Prime, Megatron spitefully severed all connections with his brother and the High Council. Driven mad and by his own jealousy, he swore he would make his former friend pay. Primus bestowed the Matrix of Leaderships to Optimus, which granted him the collective wisdom of the Rrimes: amplifying his strength, speed, endurance, knowledge and fighting expertise. After many failed assassination attempts by his Decepticons, Megatron realized only he stood a chance to end his former ally's life and decided he would kill Optimus himself.

Megatron with Orion Pax

Megatron arrived to Earth and fought Optimus once more. Optimus and his Autobots stopped Megatron from bringing an army of zombie Cybertronians to Earth. During their fight, Megatron stated Optimus would of made a fine Decepticon, to which Optimus replied that he choose his side before blasting Megatron away. Optimus was very shocked when Megatron had survived the space bridge explosion. After Raf was injured by Megatron, Optimus vowed to end his old nemesis once and for all. Optimus and Megatron squared off near a volcano site where they brutally fought. Optimus seemed to get the upper hand in the fight and came close to terminating Megatron with his sword but the dark energon inside Megatron gave him the boost to stop Optimus's sword, break it, and brutally inject it into Optimus's right shoulder. Megatron got the better of Optimus and had pinned Optimus to the ground before making a killing blow. Just before he could kill Optimus, the Autobots came in time to save Optimus and escape Megatron's wrath. Eventually, Megatron saved Optimus from getting stepped on by one Unicron's gigantic manifestations and helped him to his feet. Megatron offered to team up with Optimus and the Autobots to put Unicron into stasis, despite his previous encounter with Optimus who wanted to extinguish his spark. As Megatron led Optimus and the Autobots to Unicron's spark chamber, they were attacked by Unicron's anti-bodies. During the attack, both Optimus and Megatron simultaneously worked side by side in destroying some of the anti-bodies. When they reached outside of Unicron's spark chamber, Megatron was nearly being controlled by Unicron into destroying Optimus, but Megatron merely saved Optimus from being attacked by one of the anti-bodies. As Optimus follows Megatron through Unicron's spark chamber, he was momentarily disabled by the dark energon blast the came from Unicron's spark. Megatron, who was also hit with the same blast, was being controlled by Unicron again to terminate Optimus with Megatron's blade. Megatron was able to pull back his blade but it wasn't enough to stop Unicron from controlling his entire body. Optimus ended up sacrificing the Matrix of Leadership's energy into Unicron's spark, thus placing the ancient being to stasis. With their alliance over, Megatron saw the opportunity to pull out his blade and walked towards Optimus. Optimus asked "Where are we Megatronus?", to which left Megatron surprised. Realizing that Optimus reverted to being Orion Pax, Megatron lied to him about the Autobots, who came on in, were their sword enemies and told him to go as Megatron provided him cover. Back at the warship, Megatron prevents Breakdown from attacking Optimus and welcomes "Orion Pax" to their cause.

Megatron had began filling Orion's head with lies that the Autobots held Orion captive, who were led by their warlord Ratchet. Megatron showed Orion the images of Cybertron after the war, which left Orion to be shocked and furious at. When Megatron was finished with telling Orion about the Autobots and Decepticons, Orion vowed to Megatron that he will overcome Ratchet and the Autobots. When Megatron checks in as Orion decoded three entries from the Iacon database, Orion informs that latter about ancient cybertronian technology being sent to Earth, possible weapons. Orion is also puzzled and informs Megatron that the absence of Starscream, who was Megatron's second in command. Megatron lied to Orion as he stated that Starscream was dead. After a commotion that involved Starscream actually making a face to face contact with Orion, Megatron checked on Orion and Orion soon asked him why he told him Starscream was dead. Megatron mentions that Starscream turned against the Decepticons and went to the Autobots before leaving Orion to his work, which Orion stated as his lord wishes.

Later on, Megatron visits Orion to check on his progress on Project Iacon. Orion stated he was a little rustier than he thought, which left Megatron to show Orion that activities that Orion was researching. Orion began to question Megatron on why is he portrayed siding with the Autobots and why Starscream had called him a Prime. Megatron merely tells Orion to go back to work, but Orion deletes his work in the archives. Megatron laughs and showed Orion that his work was recorded and documented. Megatron gets two guards to watch Orion while he attends to another matter and threatened to kill Orion on the spot if Orion did not comply. Orion, who killed his two guards with built in hand weapons that he was unaware he had, faced Megatron near a spacebridge chamber where Orion simply informed Megatron that no matter what, his sympathies lies with the Autobots. Orion takes out his swords and charges at Megatron, which he was quickly defeated. However, the sudden appearance of Arcee who jumps at Megatron saved Orion from being killed. After Jack helps Orion restore the Matrix of Leadership in Orion's chest, Orion was reverted to Optimus Prime. Optimus trounces Megatron and escapes back the base with the other Autobots.

Alpha Omega Optimus vs Megatron fight

Optimus fighting Megatron in Egypt.

Optimus fought Megatron in a Star Saber battle in Egypt over an Omega Key. Optimus was shocked by Megatron's new right arm that he had stolen from the tomb of a Prime, further signalising how far gone Megatron had gone in is search for power. Both of them fought each other with their opposite Star Sabers and exchanged quick battle banters, which Optimus's sword was soon destroyed by Megatron. When Smokescreen revealed he had survived from Megatron's previous attack, he aided Optimus in battle by using the phase shifter and they both escaped back to base with the Omega Key.

Regeneration screenshot 101

Megatron threatening to kill Optimus's human allies.

In a battle on Cybertron for the Omega Keys, Optimus repaired his Star Saber with the Forge of Solus Prime and battled Megatron with his Dark Star Saber while the Autobots managed to get all the keys from the Vehicons. When the Autobots found the Omega Lock, they were confronted by Megatron who ordered them to surrender the keys as the Decepticons brought their human allies in containers. After a quick exchange, the Decepticons used the Omega Lock to restore a building on Cybertron and when Megatron used it on Earth, Optimus sprung into action. He was able to get the Star Saber and battled Megatron in a short battle that he had cut off Megatron's new right arm in the process.

Rebellion screenshot 85

Optimus 2.0 punching Megatron

When the Autobots, along with Ultra Magnus, were captured in an attempt to take down Darkmount, Optimus Prime flew in a new body to beat Megatron. When Megatron recovered, he was enraged and chased Optimus around Darkmount. They both chased each other and Optimus soon managed to get him into Darkmount's fusion cannon's supply, thus successfully destroying Darkmount.

In a last battle against the Decepticons for Earth, Optimus and Megatron faced each other. During their fight, Bumblebee was about to bring Optimus the Star Saber but failed as he was shot mid in the air by Megatron. Enraged by his scout's death, Optimus brutally beats Megatron until Megatron was able to get his Dark Star Saber and was about to finish off Optimus as well. However, Megatron was surprisingly killed by the revived Bumblebee. When Bumblebee killed Megatron, Optimus showed little signs of sadness as he watched his enemy and former friend die as his lifeless body fell to Earth. Later, Megatron was revived by Unicron and his body was used as a vessel for Unicron, which Megatron declared to have lost all taste for inflicting oppression on others, much to Optimus's surprise. Exchanging a final look of regret and respect for his old brother, Megatron decided to fly into exhile, banishing himself from his home planet. Before flying in the Well of AllSparks, Optimus even stated that Megatron has demonstrated and shown the capacity for change.

Megatron, was clearly jealous of Optimus, even when Optimus was selected as a noble candidate to be a Prime and clearly fears it after seeing Optimus wielding the Star Saber. Megatron no longer lets his jealousy get the best of him and he turns to a new path.

However, despite his animosity toward him, Megatron still considers Optimus an old friend and a worthy opponent. The only Cybertronian to equal his might and ambitions in his eyes is Optimus. Their millenia old war has made them as intertwined as one can become. In Optimus' perspective, he once considered Megatron to be his brother before Megatron became a Decepticon warmonger. At the end of the series and free from Unicron, Megatron finally understands what it is like to be oppressed and sees that Orion Pax's original train of thought was the correct path. Optimus even stated that Megatron has demonstrated the capacity for change, something which surpprised him, after an enternity of fighting. In their old friendship, Orion Pax and Megatronus acted like true brothers.

Ultra Magnus[]

The second-in-command of the Autobots is a highly capable warrior, which Megatron knows. He sees him exactly as Optimus' right-hand/successor and the clear commander in Primes' absence. However, after shortly battling and defeating him, Mgeatron noted that while he is skilled he is far ffrom Primes' equal. Megatron's hatred for Ultra Magnus is mainly based on his general contempt of the Autobots.

Bulkhead[]

Megatron thinks little of Bulkhead, dismissing him as a brawny brute with little brain. He does still admire the Autobots' strength. He was glad at the first belief of Bulkhead's demise, clearly showing that he sees him as a solid enemy soldier.

Smokescreen[]

Megatron met Smokescreen, when the two tried to acquire the Star Saber. Smokescreen earned Megatron's ire when he refused to cooperate with Megatron during the former's interrogation. The two met again, when Smokescreen took the Omega Key while Megatron was making a speech shortly after the battle in Egypt. Megatron grew to hate Smokescreen even more when he saved Optimus Prime from certain death. When it was discovered Smokescreen was, or at least was a clue, to the final relic he was brought onto the Nemesis. Megatron has Soundwave capture Smokescreen and used a cortical psychic patch to get information and then ordered Knock Out to patch in Smokescreen's mind for the location of the Autobot Base. Megatron's desire to kill him increased even more when he escaped with both the Omega Keys that the Decepticons had acquired. Further adding to the Decepticon leader's hatred of him, Smokescreen forced Megatron to watch as the Spark Extractor, ironically a Decepticon weapon, killed all of his soldiers after verbally one-upping him one more time.

Bumblebee[]

"The Autobot scout. The punishment for trespassing my domain is your destruction!!!"
―Megatron to Bumblebee.
"Megatron!!! *stabs Megatron with the Star Saber* You took my voice. You will never rob anyone of anything every again!"
― Bumblebee to Megatron.

After tearing out Bumblebee's Voice Box in the War for Cybertron, Megatron regretted not killing him, but that regret came too late. Megatron had used Bumblebee's mind and body to resurrect his real body, thus allowing him to live in his proper body. In Deadlock, Megatron shoots a desperate Bumblebee, trying to throw the Star Saber at Optimus. Bumblebee's chest is on fire, dies mid in the air, and falls down into the Omega Lock pool. However, the Cybermatter revived him and Bumblebee stabbed the Star Saber through Megatron's chest and spark, killing him at last and avenging every bot that was killed by Megatron.

"Bumblebee's voice returns and becomes faster and kills Megatron."

This would be brought up again by a resurrected Megatron, whom seemed very bitter about the encounter. However, after being freed from the torture inflicted upon him by Unicron, Megatron seemed to have forgiven Bumblebee as no signs of anger were seen towards him.

Ratchet[]

"Oh no Megatron. I am your doctor of doom."
― Ratchet to Megatron.
Persuasion Ratchet and Megatron

Megatron rarely saw Ratchet due to the fact that he's almost always at the base and is the least combat inclined Autobot. Ratchet thought he could take on Megatron while under the effect of the Synthetic Energon. He addressed Megatron and referred himself as his "doctor of doom" before punching Megatron against a wall but was taken down by Megatron and was later saved by the Autobots. Knock Out managed to take a sample and later experimented with it. Megatron used Ratchet's nickname "Doctor of Doom" when he was manipulating Orion Pax into their cause, but Orion found out Ratchet and the Autobots were good and the Decepticons were not. When Soundwave captured him for the Synthetic Energon formula, he was told by Megatron to help him or see his teammates suffer the consequences. Megatron however holds a low image of him, as shown in "Stronger, Faster", where he laughs at the other Decepticons fears of him and calls him Prime's "watchdog" or "lapdog" in a mocking tone. However, he seems to respect his scientific abilities as shown in Persuasion and Synthesis. Ratchet refers to Megatron as a "barbarian" due to Megatron almost destroying Cybertron and for crushing Bumblebee's voice box.

Unicron (True enemy)[]

"Silence worm!!!"
―Unicron to Megatron.
"You dare to deceive me and have both of us destroyed!!"
―Unicron to Megatron.

At first when Dark Energon emerged from the volcano on Earth Megatron attempted to manipulate Unicron into an alliance to obtain more power, but the chaos god saw him as useless, which prompted Megatron to team up with Team Prime to destroy him. However, when on the verge of losing, Unicron himself attempted to get Megatron to obey his commands to stop Optimus, but Megatron vengefully declared that no one controls Megatron, but he was controlled by Unicron from the Dark Energon he had within his body.

"Surprise!!!"

Years later when Megatron died and Unicron was awakened, he used Megatron's body as a vessel to reach a reborn Cybertron. Though Megatron believed it to be mutual benefit, Unicron informed Megatron that he was in control. This made Megatron resentful, even attempting to use Predaking to wound Megatron's body enough to expel Unicron, regardless of the damage done to himself. For this, Unicron put Megatron under eternal suffering which when he was expelled changed Megatron's way of thinking, knowing the true taste of oppression and had lost his taste for inflicting it.

Predaking (formerly)[]

My pet

Megatron first encountered Predaking when Shockwave brought it to him. Megatron became impressed by the strength of the beast. He assumed the returned Optimus was Predaking at first. Predaking's success convinced Megatron to create a new army of Predacons. When Predaking returned, it was sent to on a mission with Starscream to recover a bone, which it did successfully. This led Megatron to pat him on the head for his success. When he discussed Project Predacon with Knock Out he was not aware of Predaking's increasing sentience.

During a visit to the laboratory, Predaking revealed his intelligence and ability to transform to his master, much to Megatron's shock and horror. He briefly interrogated Predaking before learning that the Predacon had amnesia and therefore had only recently learned of his sentience. He affirmed his loyalty to Megatron, but when he took his name and requested to lead the Predacons, Megatron was evidently frightened by such a request, telling him his vision had no limits as a means of concealing his fear. Alone with his officers, Megatron stated that although Predaking was loyal at the moment, he would eventually betray them upon learning how strong his species were compared to the depleted Decepticons. With the loss of the Insecticons and over half the Vehicons following the catastrophe in Thirst, Megatron knew he no longer possessed the strength to stop a potential revolution and decided, albeit reluctantly due to the fact that all this effort had resulted with him getting nothing, that the Predacon clones had to be killed before they escaped the facility and fell under Predaking's command or else his army(and potentially the entire Cybertronian race) would be slaughtered by the resurrected, sentient clones. Shockwave backed it, but Knock Out raised the objection that if Predaking saw or learned of the act, he would be unstoppable. Starscream's suggestion to pin it on the Autobots was happily agreed with as it guaranteed Megatron out of Predaking's anger. Arranging for Energon to be exposed, Megatron sent Shockwave to the cloning lab to purge his lab of materials, and enough Vehicons to trick the Autobots into the mine. Megatron's hope was that Predaking and the Autobots would destroy each other. Although this plan succeed, Predaking survived, and Megatron vowed to him that the massacre would be avenged.

When reconstructing the Omega Lock, Predaking requested that upon the resurrection of their home, the Predacon species should be resurrected for Predaking to lead against their shared foes, causing Megatron serious paranoia. He eventually decided to send Predaking to the Arctic to aid his raiding party. When Predaking simply intented to battle Optimus, Megatron lost his patience with the boastful Cybertronian. He furiously informed him that their numbers were increasingly dwindling. Predaking calmly stated that he would fight twice as hard, although Megatron stated it be done in his dragon form. Unknown to Megatron, Predaking became a robot and battled Optimus. He would have killed his foe had Megatron, alerted by Shockwave that the collider was in danger, ordered him to secure it. This was not to Predaking's liking and frustrated beyond belief, shot the blast that he intended to kill Optimus with into the sky. Upon securing the objective, Predaking learned that Ratchet had been brought to the warship. Megatron's confirmation had Predaking draw his blaster and had him announce his intent to kill him to make up his failure for killing Optimus. Megatron convinced Predaking to wait until Ratchet was no longer needed and turned him over to the Predacon King when his usefulness ended. What he did not count on was Ratchet revealing the true murderer of the clones. This led to Predaking rampagin through the Nemesis' corridors in a blind rage. Predaking was a powerful Cybertronian, however, Megatron knew even he stood no chance against the power of the Dark Star Saber and went to retrieve it. To his surprise, the Predacon cut him short and demanded anwsers. Upon granting them, Megatron stated he would now finish the termination. Fearing neither the Cybertronian nor the beast, the gladiator of Kaon was more than willing to take Predaking on without additional aid. A battle between master and servant ensued which nearly ended in Megatron's death. Starscream shot a missile into Predaking's back which enabled Megatron to shoot the beast out of an airlock. Before doing it, Megatron said that had Predaking chosen to battle him as a beast and not as a robot, he would have won.

Following his death, Megatron assumed Predaking was also dead. Upon discovering he was alive, Megatron realized that Predaking could inflict enough injury to his improved form to convince Unicron to leave, and therefore had the god approach Predaking, not informing him of their grudge. Nevertheless, this failed. His upgraded body equalled that of Predaking in robot mode and The Dark Energon-infused weapons fabricated by the god penetrated the Predacon's otherwise inpenatrable durability and took him down with only a couple of hits. Following his freedom from Unicron, Megatron abandoned the ways of evil. Megatron may have let his grudge against Predaking go and Predaking may have forgiven his former master.

Jack Darby[]

Megatron had encountered Jack in Rock Bottom where Megatron was trapped in between rocks while Jack took a drive in a drill to find his friends. Jack found Megatron trapped and Megatron suggested Jack should use the drill to kill Megatron, but Jack denied when Megatron stated Optimus would do the same. Jack stated Optimus would not at that moment and drove away. In One Shall Rise, Part 2, Jack prevented Raf from fighting Megatron when he came into the Autobot base. Jack glared in a stern look at Megatron when Megatron mentioned remembering Jack. In Darkest Hour, Megatron stated Jack was worth two Omega Keys since he was entrusted with the Matrix of Leadership.

Rafael Esquivel[]

In Out of His Head, Raf tried to stop Megatron (who was controlling Bumblebee inside Bee's body) from reviving his old body. In One Shall Fall, Megatron deliberately shot at Bumblebee with Rafael inside his vehicle mode. He was quite pleased at doing so, even when Raf's life was at risk. In One Shall Rise, Part 2, Rafael tried to confront the Decepticon leader when Megatron entered the Autobot base. Megatron taunted on how Rafael survived from his previous ordeal. In Deadlock, Rafael seemed content when Optimus reported that Megatron was killed, though Megatron was resurrected by Unicron later on in Predacons Rising.

Agent Fowler[]

Agent Fowler worked with the Autobots in trying to stop Megatron's plans numerous of times. In Darkmount, NV, Agent Fowler was contacted by Megatron. He ordered Fowler to prevent any military branches from interfering with his citadel otherwise he would have to use Darkmount's fusion cannons to destroy any populated area that Megatron picked, such as the nation's capital. Megatron tried to trick Fowler into believing the Decepticons merely wanted to coexist with the human race, peacefully. In Deadlock, Agent Fowler was pleased to hear Megatron was killed, though Megatron was resurrected by Unicron later on in Predacons Rising.
