Dr. Meridian, also known as Mandroid (not to his face), is a scientist who served in the Autobot-Decepticon war on Earth. After losing his right arm during the conflict, he gained a new hatred against the entire Cybertronian species. Now with a twisted new mindset and a horde of Arachnamechs at his disposal, he seeks to become the protector of Earth and its inhabitants he believes they need, through the annihilation of all Cybertronians. In order to accomplish this mission, he decides it's necessary to become more like them—even if he must sacrifice his mind and body in the process.

Biography[]

Past[]

Dr. Meridian at one point was drafted into the Transformers war. He worked for humans as a scientist to help fight against the Decepticons. At one point his base was attacked by an Autobot-friendly fire, tons of people were killed in the blast but Meridian was saved due to his Arachnamechs. However, Meridan would end up losing his right arm and having it replaced with a metal one. Eventually, the war ended when Megatron reformed, however, Meridan wasn't able to let go of what happened to him and held a grudge against all Cybertronians, seeking to wipe them out so that he can be the "hero" the planet "needs".

EarthSpark, Season 1[]

Meridian first appears in the series, in the two-part episode "Secret Legacy", where he, using his Arachnamechs, was able to figure out about Twitch and Thrash who are a new species of transformers that are from Earth. Meridian would eventually up dubbing them the "Terrans". When Twitch and Thrash are about to be taken away to G.H.O.S.T. Meridian has them secretly kidnapped and plans to experiment on them. When Twitch and Thrash wake up in Meridian's base Meridian tells them about who he is and what he dubbed them, as a response Twitch gives him the nickname of "Mandroid" much to Meridian's annoyance. Meridian intends to harvest the two for scraps but before he can the Autobots attack his base and retrieve the two. Meridian is able to escape and continues to plot his plan to wipe out Cybertronians.

Meridian's next appearance is a brief one in the episode "Traditions", where he is trying to use Hardtop's arm as a weapon. However, he is having trouble with it so he orders his Arachnamechs to bring him more Cybertronian parts.

Meridian makes his final appearance in the two-parter "Age of Evolution", he is seen in his lab where Skywarp and Nova Storm show up after they caused a ruckus at the ceremony. He berates the two for their failure to get anything. However, he is happy that this whole thing has caused Megatron and Prime to be painted poorly by the media. He knows that he won't be able to continue his plan when the Cybertronians are more powerful than him and thus sets his new plan into motion. Meridian uses holograms to disguise himself and his Arachnamechs and pretend to capture Skywarp and Nova. However, when Megatron and Dot arrive he springs the trap and captures both of them. When Dot and Megatron are brought to his base Meridian explains his past to Dot to which Dot reveals she also lost her leg during the way just like Meridian lost his army, she does sympathize with him to an extent but Meridian refuses to step and plans to forcefully remove Megatron's arm so that he can use its power.

Dot is able to stall Meridian for a while and when Meridian catches her again he orders his Arachnamechs to kill her. However, just in time, the Autobots arrive, the Terrans try to disguise themselves as Decepticons but Meriden sees right through it and their fake Deception logo so a massive fight ends up breaking out. The Autobots are able to escape with Dot and Megatron and Meridian brings out a giant mech he had in case he needed it. He then starts firing a massive canon randomly at the Autobots hoping to hit one of them eventually. The Autobots however are able to damage his mech badly enough that it sinks into the water seemingly killing Meridian.

However, Dr. Meridian is revealed that he survived and moved to Philadelphia where he collaborated with the underground Brawl Bot, forcing many Cybertronians to fight each other and take away the spare parts from those who lost. When Bumblebee, Malto siblings and the Terrans are investigating the Brawl Bot operation, he brainwashed a young Terran Hashtag by putting a mind-controlling chip on her, forcing her to fight against her family. Though he managed to mind-breaking her from the inside, Hashtag is able to release herself from his control with the Malto siblings and Terrans supports. Dr. Meridian eventually approached by Agent Croft who recruit him into making more chips and offered him a small doses of Energon and Decepticons prisoners for him as a test subjects.

Now united by their common cause in wiping out Cybertronians on both Earth and their home planet, he developed Ghoids, elite troops G.H.O.S.T which secretly robots capable of overpowering Transformers. It was while spying on Malto kids that he learned about cyber-sleeves worn by Robby and Mo which he believed to be the key to restore his health which deteriorated from his augmentations so far. His attempt to kill the two via. holographic Megatron failed due to receiving blessings from Quintus Prime but, Mandroid nevertheless severely injured robby and learned about Emberstone's existence, leading him to request Croft to retrieve the artifact.

Personality[]

The loss of his arm and deaths of his colleagues during the height of great war between Autobots and Decepticons had since changed Dr. Meridian into a cold, brutal, vengeful and murderous scientist. He enjoyed torturing humans and Cybertronian alike, and willing to resort to anything, no matter how low he had to stoop, to get what he wanted. That included striking down those who are weaker than him or totally defenseless against him, augmenting himself into a monstrous being at the cost of his humanity, and dispose those who outlived their usefulness.

At the same time, Dr. Meridian was a highly intelligent and displayed a knack for technology. It was he who designed and improved Arachnamech and other gadgets in his vendetta against Cybertronians and those who stood in his path.

Despite becoming a bigger terror than worsts among Decepticons with his monstrous final upgrade reflected such fact, Dr. Meridian is still a shell-shocked veteran and tragic figure one can still symphatized to. Dot was able to relate to his pain since she too lost a limb and many friends during the war they participated him. However, he ultimately let his resentments and pain from his losses consumed him and refusing to see the reason whenever given the chance as opposed of motivations to be better than those around him.
