Linkage is a comic mini-series available only with each volume of the Micron Legend DVD series in Japan, retailed in 2002. Each 3~4 page comic helps fill in the background of the Mini-Con conflict and some of the story gaps from the cartoon series.
It is important to note that only the initial runs of the DVD contained the comics and bonus Mini-Con toys. Later pressings contained simply the DVD, without the extras.

Overview[]
The story revolves around the Super Stunt Team as they awaken on Earth and fight to free the Mini-Cons from their dark creator. They find an ally in Stella Holley, a human who helps them acclimate to Earth and accomplish their goals. As they recover more of their old friends, they must prepare to take the battle to Unicron, leaving Earth and their new ally behind.
Linkage is notable for weaving a complex background and behind-the-scenes story for the Mini-Cons of the Armada cartoon, while working seamlessly within the bounds of the cartoon. In fact, some fans find Linkage to be quite a bit more sophisticated and enjoyable than the TV show on which it was based. Its clean art and designs also provided something of a contrast with the Dreamwave comics being published at the time.
Having an astonishingly hot, 26-year-old redhead as a central character didn't hurt much, either.
Creative Team[]
The entire series was written, penciled, inked, colored and lettered by long-time Japanese fan-turned-pro Hirofumi Ichikawa.
The stories were eventually translated to English by American fan Doug Dlin.
