The name or term Jolt refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Jolt (disambiguation).

Jolt is a young Autobot described as a troublemaker and a bit of a snob but loves to battle Decepticons. He seems to have fondness of Earth's nature and a habit of saving energy explaining why he chose an eco-friendly car as a disguise. He is armed with two electro-whips. Jolt lures his enemies in close to deliver a crippling blow with his electro-whips.

Hungarian name: Sokk ("Shock")
Mandarin name : 搖擺 ("Shake")

Fiction

Revenge of the Fallen film

"Ratchet tells Jolt what to do with Jetfire's parts."
―Jolt, electrify! Transplant those afterburners!

He is charging his electro-whips menacingly when the Autobots were confronted by Galloway and some soldiers after returning with Optimus Prime's corpse.

When the Fallen forces the humans to find Sam Witwicky and turn against the Autobots, Jolt was seen captured in a net by the human police with Ironhide and Ratchet.

Jolt later travels to Egypt with the other Autobots when they were deported by the U.S. Government. He is seen shooting Decepticons behind Sideswipe.

Later, he connects his crackling electro-whips to a newly resurrected Optimus Prime with Jetfire's corpse, creating an electromagnetic field that transfers Jetfire's parts onto Optimus's body, temporarily upgrading Optimus into a Jetpower Optimus Prime so he can defeat the Fallen.

Nefarious

Along with Bumblebee, Knock Out and Landmine, Jolt was part of the team sent to counter Soundwave's attack on the power plant. He was also present at Galloway's rant about the damaged caused.

Later, he was on the NEST cargo plane transporting the captured Soundwave. He survived the crash caused by Buzzsaw and helped the other Autobots transport Soundwave by road. When Dirt Boss attacked the zoo where Soundwave is, Beastbox attacked Jolt. But after an intervention from Bumblebee, he survives the encounter.

Later in Inyokern, California, Jolt, Bumblebee, Knock Out, Landmine and the others meet up with Optimus Prime, Ironhide and Sideswipe. They now have Soundwave secured and under interrogation. Nefarious issue 2

He later takes part in the assault on the secret base in Crater Lake, Oregon and supposedly survives the battle. When Shockwave escaped, he killed Jolt and Elita-One. Rising Storm issue 4

Revenge of the Fallen toyline

  • Jolt (Deluxe, 2009)

Jolt transforms into a Blue Chevrolet Volt car. In robot mode, if the knobs on his arm are turned, his electro-whips will flip out. His MechAlive happens when his waist is turned, causing gears in his stomach move the opposite way. The picture on the back of his box appears to portray his electro whips as his middle fingers. Oddly enough, the Autobot insignia on Jolt's torso is the classic design, rather than the movie design featured on the other RotF figures.

  • Jolt (Deluxe, 2011)
Accessories: Mech-tech plasma repeater/cannon.
Part of the second wave of MechTech Deluxes for Dark of the Moon, he is a completely new mold featuring quite a complex transformation. Apart from the dull colours he is quite movie accurate, well, from what screen time he acctually had.

Lost Age (Age of Extinction) toyline

  • Jolt (Deluxe, 2014)
Accessories: Electro-whips

A redeco of the Dark of the Moon figure in Jolt's usual colors, this figure comes with larger electro-whips more accurate to his on screen appearance.

Notes

Well, at least I'm not Wheelie.

  • He doesn't have any lines in the film. This is most likely because he was a last-minute addition to the film.[October, 2009]
  • It was originally rumored that Anthony Anderson, who was Glenn in the first film, would be voicing Jolt instead of reprising his role.[citation needed] However, these rumors proved false.
  • His namesake wasn't much of a talker himself to begin with either.
  • His name could be due to its resemblance to Chevrolet Volt, the car he had chosen, as it rhymes with it.
