Fun Publications Shattered Glass continuity[]
Goryu and the other Dinobots scattered after Wheeljack's disastrous attack on Optimus Prime. He attacked Cliffjumper while the red Autobot was wrestling with Slugfest. Cliffjumper and Sideswipe outsmarted him after a brief battle. He was fitted with a restraining bolt and brought into Decepticon custody. Dungeons & Dinobots
Starscream, checking in on the Dinocons, was alarmed to discover that Slugfest and Overkill were missing. After a thorough search, he asked Goryu if he'd eaten them. Goryu, taken aback, answered that he certainly had not eaten them, at least as far as he could remember. As it happened, he hadn't eaten them; they had been overlooked due to transforming into cassettesand burrowing into their nest. The Decepticons soon discovered that the Dinocons, including Goryu, now all had embers and the ability to transform. Do Over

- Goryu is modeled after the Masterpiece Grimlock toy, with his color scheme and head armor being based on the Pretender shell of Victory's Goryu.
- The code "D-322" etched into the armor on Goryu's hip is a reference to Goryu's Japanese ID number
