Prime-toy Firebolt

Firebolt (ファイアーボルト Faiāboruto) helps the Autobots with his ability to go boom-boom and vroom-vroom. He's part of a group of Mini-Cons known as the Arms Microns, due to their weapon alternate modes.

  • Autobot Firebolt Clear Yellow Version (Arms Micron, 2012-01-15)

The first version of Firebolt made available is identical to the Power Core Combiners Mini-Con Pinpoint. He transforms into a double-barreled cannon that can be held by any figure with a 5mm post-hole in their hand; this configuration is different from Pinpoint's. He was given away free to children attending the World Hobby Fair in Osaka on January 15, 2012.
He was later also given away at TakaraTomy's booth at the Next Generation World Hobby Fair Summer '12 in Fukuoka, Japan, on June 30 and July 1, a bonus with the early combined purchase of AMW-seires Microns Gabu, Baru, and Dai.
This mold was also used to make United Sparks.

  • Autobot Firebolt (Arms Micron, 2012-03-01)
An opaque gray and black redeco of Firebolt was later made available in Japan as a bonus for those who pre-ordered Prime AM01 Optimus Prime online from March 1st through March 30th 2012, through one of four different web sites: Amazon Japan, ToysЯUs, Bic Camera, and Yodobashi Camera.

Notes[]

  • It seems highly likely that the Pinpoint/Firebolt mold's engine configuration is the reason for the retooling of United Rodimus Prime to have a 5mm post on his engine block and a hole under his arm, though Firebolt is marketed as a Prime toy, not United despite likely being intended as the original G1 version.
    • This is also most likely the explanation for the aforementioned specifically-Generation-1-series "Sparks" toy.
  • Firebolt is also one of several Japanese toys to have the "Autobot" prefix attached to his name for reasons we haven't yet figured out.
  • His instructions do not specify what franchise he belongs to, using just "Transformers", albeit in the same font as the Japanese Prime line. The instructions also show his gun mode as being held by United Kup (but then again so do Prime Pinpointer's instructions). But between the "Arms Micron" designation and all the promotional materials labeling him as a Prime toy and all the promotional photos of him being held by Prime Optimus... well.
  • This mold in the gray-body coloration originally appeared as an (unnamed) version of Artfire's Targetmaster partner Nightstick in "The Fierce Fighting on Planet Nebulos".
