- Sonar is a Decepticon from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film series continuity family.
If there's one thing Sonar loves, it's leaving the Autobots soaking wet. There are so few of them able to pursue him into the deep ocean that he spends his time taunting them from just off shore. He can't help but laugh at his victims.
Like Depthcharge, he is a naval tactician, and an expert in marine combat. On Cybertron, he ferried goods to Decepticon forces through the Energon seas.

Sonar was among the Transformers captured by the Initiative and brainwashed into fighting on their side. Nefarious #6 He rejoined Starscream's Decepticons and was part of the assault force sent to Philadelphia to retrieve the rogue Decepticon scrap drone Brains. Sonar briefly battled Bumblebee, who was helping to protect Brains, but was suddenly felled by an energy blade from un unseen combatant later revealed to be Mirage. Rising Storm #2
Later Sonar was among the Decepticons that were trying to retreat after NEST showed up. Rising Storm #4 However, he was eventually killed by a team led by Lieutenant Witwicky while hiding in the Long Island Sound at some point after the Philadelphia battle. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/07
