This article is about the live-action-movie continuity helicopter. For the Cybertron-series helicopter, see Evac (Cybertron).

Evac is an Autobot in the Movie continuity family.

Leapin' lifters, I think they need an airlift!

Evac is fearless in the face of danger, and is wholly devoted to the protection of sentient life; two qualities that make him ideally suited for search and rescue missions. When he received Optimus Prime's signal summoning all remaining Autobots to Earth, he came immediately to help humanity rebuild in the aftermath of their devastating battle with the Decepticons.

Search and rescue robot scorpion not included

As part of the "AllSpark Power" portion of the movie line, Evac is a retool of the Voyager Blackout, transforming into a Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low heavy-lift helicopter in rescue helicopter colors. An aft "cage" compartment can be opened to release a small rescue raft, which becomes a hand-held gun for robot mode. A button on the very end of his tail can be pressed in a geared action to rotate his rotor blades, but this feature really comes into play when the user attaches the Deluxe-class Scorponok figure to the bottom of Evac's helicopter mode via two pegs. A geared shaft linked to the rotor mechanism connects to a geared peg on Scorponok's back. Thus, pressing the button on Evac's tail not only rotates his blades, but also rotates Scorponok's pincers, though this gimmick is actually easier to activate by rotating the geared wheel on Scorponok's undercarriage.
During transformation, Evac's Automorphing gimmick is activated when the user swings down his legs, which in turn flips the chest section his head is mounted upon up and into position. Another, less impressive Automorph is in his legs - If you pull his knees down, his shin armor pops out a bit. The figure's retooling involved a new head and new hands that can hold standard weapon pegs such as the raft which replaced the Scorponok miniature.

Sure, that's the same guy. Whatever.

  • Evac (3D Battle Card, 2007)
A 29-point "rare" character in the 3D Battle-Card Game, Evac "transforms" into a yellow helicopter. He uses the same parts layout as Blackout, "Vortex" and Whirl.

Trivia

  • According to the running commentary of the 2007 movie done by Aaron Archer and Jared Wade at BotCon 2008, Hasbro's creation of Evac was prompted by the (ultimately unused) idea that there would be at least one Coast Guard helicopter featured in the film. They implied that, had it been used, it would have been the helicopter that attempted to move Sam Witwicky and the All Spark out of Mission City.
