Episode 4 is the fourth episode of War For Cybertron Trilogy: Chapter 1: Siege. It was written by Brandon Easton and Gavin Hignight
Elita casts doubt on Optimus’ plan, which includes fixing a Spacebridge. Optimus appeals to the Guardians for help and Bumblebee receives a high honor.
Megatron takes Ultra Magnus to Tarn-Hauser Gate. More Cybertronias fell at Tarn-Hauser than at any other conflict in history. Alpha Trion sparked a revolution and the Autobots corrupted his message, or so Megatron claims. Ultra Magnus has taken them to Alpha Trion’s memorial, claiming this to be Autobot Command. Megatron asks Jetfire if the Seekers are ready and then asks Barricade if the ground forces are ready. Ultra Magnus opens the door to reveal an empty room. Megatron realizes that he’s been deceived and points his blaster at Ultra, who he kills by shooting a whole in his chest. Jetfire arrives. Suddenly, Ultra Magnus’ eyes light up and the Alpha Trion Protocols release from within him.
Megatron orders Soundwave to find out what it was that left Ultra Magnus and where it went. And so, Soundwave tells Laserbeak to track the anomaly. Megatron then tells Jetfire to take Ultra Magnus to Shockwave. However, Starscream arrives and shoots Jetfire, informing Megatron that he murdered Skywarp. Jetfire admits this is true. He has no desire to be involved in the genocide of the Autobots. Megatron orders Starscream to kill Jetfire, but before he can get the chance, Jetfire shoots missiles at them and flies away. However, Starscream isn’t far behind and shoots Jetfire out of the sky.
Bumblebee awakens completely disoriented from the foreign energy within him.
Optimus tells Mirage that he’ll lead the team to repair the Spacebridge. That’s assuming Ratchet can fix it. The team consists of Sideswipe, Chromia, Ratchet, Impactor, and Mirage. Elita is still very much against Optimus’ plan. She wonders what will happen to Cybertron once the AllSpark is gone. Rather than answering, Optimus puts her in charge of getting the Ark ready. In the meantime, he will try to contact the guardians. The loss of Ultra Magnus affects even them. The Guardians respected Alpha Trion. And because Optimus and Magnus were his students, that respect is extended to them.
Sideswipe, Chromia, Ratchet, Impactor, and Mirage go to the Spacebridge. They’ll have 20 Astro-cycles to get in and repair it before the patrols circle back around.
Optimus visits the Guardians to inform them of Ultra Magnus’ demise. With his death, Optimus presumed that the Alpha Trion Protocols would’ve transmitted to them. He also hopes that now they’ll become involved. Omega Supreme reveal that the Alpha Trion Protocol has not come to them. Nonetheless, Optimus needs their help. However, the Guardians refuse to get involved. And so, Optimus will protect Cybertron without them.
Sideswipe, Chromia, Ratchet, Impactor, and Mirage work to get the Spacebridge up and running. Unfortunately, they are spotted by the patrol. Impactor saves Ratchet from the gunfire, using his body as a shield. Chromia manages to take out all three Seekers.
Starscream assures Megatron that they killed Jetfire. And for that, Megatron grants him command of the Seekers.
Elita and Wheeljack devise a plan to jump-start the Ark. However, they’ll need unrefined energon. Optimus returns and informs them that the Guardians won’t help. He’s now starting to wonder if this is a helpless crusade. He blames himself for starting the war when he opposed Megatron. Wheeljack assures them that Ratchet will get the Spacebridge running. And he’ll have Teletraan-1 online soon. They are interrupted by Prowl and Hound, who have Bumblebee by the arms. He asks Optimus who Alpha Trion is.
Optimus reveals to Bumblebee that thousands of years of Autobot history and knowledge has been transmitted to him. The Alpha Trion Protocols chose Bumblebee and only Alpha Trion can tell him why. Inside his mind, Bumblebee speaks to Alpha Trion, who reveals that the Protocols are a collection of information and strategies designed to protect Autobots in times of great crisis. Their history and collection is only to be passed down to someone that can be trusted to ensure the good of all. Optimus and Magnus agreed that no one Cybertronian should possess both the Matrix of Leadership and the Alpha Trion Protocols, so they agreed to share the power. Bumblebee simply wants peace, which is why he was chosen. Alpha Trion tells Bumblebee that Optimus will experience great victories and great defeats. He must be there for both. Bumblebee returns to Optimus and tells him where to find the Allspark.
The alarm sounds. Optimus and Bumblebee learn from Elita that a lone Decepticon has breached their perimeter. Sideswipe, Prowl, and Hound go to investigate. Jetfire reveals to the Autobots that he’s come to join them.
