The ship of Optimus Prime's crew carries an emergency shuttle, presumably for use as an escape pod in the event of, oh, say, crashing into a planet.

When Ultra Magnus reported to Optimus' crew that Starscream had escaped from the Cybertron Elite Guard's ship; Prowl decided to use Teletran-1's sensors to try and locate him. Finding a moving AllSpark trace on the Moon, he took the shuttle - against Bulkhead's advice - to attempt to locate him.
While in transit, Optimus and Ratchet ordered him to turn the shuttle around, but Prowl refused to listen. Shortly afterward, it was destroyed by a Starscream clone. A Fistful of Energon
