Certain Affinity is an American video game development studio based in Austin, Texas, with a second studio in Toronto, Canada. It was founded in 2006 by Max Hoberman, an ex-Bungie employee, along with other industry veterans.
The studio is primarily known for its extensive co-development work on major gaming franchises, including:
* Halo series: They have contributed to numerous Halo titles, such as Halo 2, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Halo Infinite.
* Call of Duty series: They've also worked on multiple Call of Duty games.
* Other notable titles: Their work includes contributions to games like Hogwarts Legacy, DOOM (2016), Left 4 Dead, and World of Tanks.
Beyond co-development, Certain Affinity has also developed some original games, such as the real-time strategy game "Age of Booty."
In October 2024, Certain Affinity was acquired by Keywords Studios, an international technical and creative services provider to the global video games industry. Despite the acquisition, the studio continues to be led by its existing management.
