A War, for the purposes of this category, is a prolonged conflict consisting or more than simply a series of consecutive battles. Though wars will often include such sequences (the final conflict of the Armada franchise, for example, is known as "The Unicron Battles,") the term "war" is generally reserved for the larger logical units.

World War II includes The Battle of the Bulge. World War II has also been said to include the Pacific War and the "War for Europe", discrete sub-divisions complete enough in themselves to be defined as "wars" occurring within a larger war.
