After detecting a UFO crashing on the far side of the Moon, the Americans and Soviets entered the space race to reach the Moon and unlock its secrets. Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were among a mere thirty-five people on Earth who knew the true purpose of the Apollo mission.
Following their fateful transmission, the Apollo mission feigned a period of interrupted radio communications. This gave Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin twenty-one minutes to investigate the spacecraft without the knowledge of the general public. They returned to Earth and disclosed their findings to their superiors, and for decades no one learned of their mission.
Many years later, however, recovery of Cybertronian materials from a Soviet site brought to light what happened on the Apollo mission. Buzz Aldrin's knowledge was declassified, and he had the privilege to meet Optimus Prime and the other Autobots at NEST's headquarters. Dark of the Moon
