BWNeo Bump card1

Don't make fun of him, he's got Armadilloberger's Syndrome.

Bump is exceedingly reserved in character. He rarely shows any extremities in emotion in any way, be it positive or negative. He believes only in science and considers Cybertronian religions and beliefs to be nothing more than over-hyped fairy tales.

The only time Bump is really happy is when he's retreated into his own private little world of theorems, where he can perform all the experiments he wants without the distractions of others. Though quiet and oftentimes shy, Bump is still good-natured and respectful. Though responsible for many of their greatest weapons, he left the Maximal army when he grew tired of being limited to constructing machines of war. He now works on commission and only on projects that catch his interest. He's quite frugal with his pay and invests it all right back into his studies.

Bump possesses many advanced sensors in his hands and is a quick-draw champion, but has very little actual combat experience.

Fiction[]

Beast Wars Neo cartoon[]

Voice actor: Eiji Takemoto (Japanese)

Bump was a civilian scientist with no taste for warfare, so he immersed himself in researching the desert planet of Tasmo. Despite his civilian status, he brooked no interruption of his work, and would respond forcefully to such interference with his Claw Blaster beam gun and morningstar-like Chain Bomber weapons.

Small things so sad that birds could land

When Big Convoy's Maximals landed on Tasmo in search of another Angolmois capsule, Bump was thoroughly annoyed at the interruption. So while they were away from their ship, he stole pieces of it and took them back to his lab. The Maximals returned and discovered the theft, then followed the tracks left on the ground from the dragged pieces to Bump's laboratory. A brief standoff followed, but eventually, Bump reluctantly agreed to show them the capsule he kept in a storehouse. As he did, the Predacons Guiledart and Sling attacked and stole the capsule. (Curiously, Bump didn't seem to mind this destruction of his property as much as he did the Maximals' landing.) The capsule turned out to be so decrepit that its energy had already transferred to another capsule, which didn't sit well with the Predacons. They were beaten away and the capsule was retrieved when Big Convoy arrived, so their opinion didn't amount to much. After the Maximals departed, they discovered Bump had also disconnected their ship's turbo mechanisms, hindering their pace, and they could only marvel at his sheer power. Bump the Physicist

Beast Wars Neo manga[]

A Maximal with little taste for warfare, Bump instead dedicated a solitary life to the study of minerals on Tasumo for the Maximal cause. He came across a damaged Angolmois Capsule and, fearing a planet-destroying explosion, transferred the energy to another capsule and affixed a device set to explode if impacted in the interests of preventing theft.

When members of Big Convoy's unit landed on the planet with the Seagull and explored in search for the Angolmois Capsule they detected, Bump took the ship's turbo device. Predacons under Magmatron's command also came a-knocking in search for the capsule, and the two factions fought, with Bump refusing to fight. Sling and Guiledart took a temporary retreat, with the latter deducing that Bump would already know where the capsule was and lead them to it. The Maximals soon found out about Bump's theft of the Seagull part, to which the armadillo justified as "moving things around". When he showed them the capsule—the empty one—the Predacons attacked and took it, without Bump lifting a finger. He had little to worry, as the contents were empty; the lack of this revelation prior in addition to Bump's refusal to fight infuriated Break.

After their procured capsule was discovered to be empty, the embarrassed Guiledart and Sling teleported back to the planet to get the new capsule, and another standoff took place. During the battle, the existence of the explosive device was revealed, to the consternation of both sides. Unable to move the capsule without risking their own destruction, the Maximals and Predacons were stuck in a stalemate till both sides attempted to manhandle the armadillo into removing the device. Predacon reinforcements were summoned, and, still, Bump refused to fight. Big Convoy soon arrived, and the resulting firepower from the Predacons damaged Bump's lab, which finally infuriated the scientist into fighting, and the Maximals were able to send the Predacons fleeing. After some compliments about his research, Bump removed the device and the Maximals left him to his studies, overlooking that Bump was still in possession of the turbo device from the Seagull. IDW Beast Wars: The Ascending[]

Bump was hired by Lio Convoy for a rather unenviable task. After helping Big Convoy locate Lio's crew, he was told to use the Angolmois that Ravage acquired from Rartorarta to develop a cure. The unenviable part: He needed to make enough for all of Cybertron.

Sigh. Unicron and his accursed vessel.

After Shokaract was defeated, Bump finished the first batch of antidote. He could start mass-producing as soon as he had a proper lab. However, Megatron had other plans... The Ascending
