Bumblebee at Tyger Pax is an unofficial short story written by Alex Irvine (author of Transformers: Exodus). The story is considered to be Apocrypha, meaning it is considered influential enough to be documented, but ideas and concepts introduced in the story may not hold true for work that is completely canonical.
Synopsis[]
Optimus Prime visits the archivist Alpha Trion, who is recording Cybertronian history in the Covenant of Primus with his Quill. Alpha Trion expresses his doubts that the Autobots can keep the AllSpark from the Decepticons. The two decide that the AllSpark should be launched into space using a failsafe device to keep it out of Megatron's hands.
Optimus Prime breaks the news to his trusted lieutenants. Bumblebee objects, but Ironhide tells him to listen. Optimus Prime assembles a team who will make their way to the Well of All Sparks where the failsafe controls are. On their way there, the Autobots are intercepted at the Tyger Paxbypass. Optimus Prime quickly comes up with a plan to deal with them. Jetfire will create a diversion while Ultra Magnus and the Wreckers provide cover for the Well of AllSparks. Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are ordered to harry the Decepticons in order to slow them down.
Bumblebee and Cliffjumper encounter Barricade and attack. They quickly incapacitate him. Jetfire lures three Seekers into the Wreckers' crossfire, but the Wreckers were under attack by Megatron. Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Arcee make it to the Well. Arcee enters the launch codes since Primes were not allowed to as a failsafe. Fighting continues till the AllSpark is blasted into space. Bumblebee laughs and taunts Megatron. In response, Megatron crushes Bumblebee's vocoder to shut him up, but lets him live.

Quotes[]
"When I was a clerk I never had to worry about lives." "It was never going to be any other way, Optimus. I knew you were destined—" "To trade the caste system for Decepticon tyranny?"
- —Optimus Prime and Alpha Trion.
"And if you’re looking for the AllSpark, you’re going to have to go find it. Arcee fired it off, bam! Gone! Maybe it’s you that failed for the last time. Well, no. Probably not. We’ll set you up so you can fail once more, at least."
- —Bumblebee to Megatron.
"You talk too much, Autobot." "Everybody says that. Coming from you, I’ll take it. Hey, did you see that AllSpark? That was something, the way it flew out into space completely out of your reach—" <Megatron chokes Bumblebee> "You mock me, mech? That is the last time you mock anyone."
- —Megatron puts an end to Bumblebee's Bluestreak impersonation.
Notes[]
- Cameos: Unnamed data clerks, Seekers, and Wreckers.
- Ultra Magnus leads the Wreckers. Rodimus and Springer are members.
- Robot modes are called "protoforms".
- Belief controls the AllSpark, not power.
- Though not officially approved or published by Hasbro, this story was declared to be canon by the Ask Vector Prime Facebook column in 2015. It takes place in Uniend 610.23 Zeta, the universe that began with Exodus and encompasses all of the Aligned novels.
- Ratchet disappears from the story after the meeting with Optimus Prime. He also has nothing to say at said meeting. In fact, only one line from Optimus's narration clarifies Ratchet's presences in the story at all.
Transformer references[]
- Several locations were taken from past fiction. Those include the Hall of Records, Iacon, Kalis, the Well of AllSparks, Six Lasers Over Cybertron, Nova Cronum, the Tagan Heights, Tyger Pax, Polyhex, and Crystal City.
- "Orion Pax" references Optimus Prime's original self from the Generation 1 episode "War Dawn" and was made Prime.
- The basic plot, involving Bumblebee losing his voice to Megatron during the battle at Tyger Pax in which the Autobots launch the AllSpark into space, is similar to live-action film continuity stories from IDW comics such as Movie Prequel #1 and Defiance #4.
