"You can count on us to keep the peace."
―Bumblebee [src]
"Let's rev up and roll out!"
―Bumblebee [src]

Bumblebee is an Autobot warrior and the former scout of Team Prime, as well as the former guardian of his human friend, Raf Esquivel, in Transformers: Prime. Bumblebee was a very important member of Optimus's team during the Great War and was with Optimus for the longest out of any Autobot, excluding Ratchet. Bumblebee went with Optimus, Bulkhead and Ratchet to Earth in an attempt to stop the Decepticons from draining the planet's energy and taking it over. At the end of the war, Bumblebee was the one to kill Megatron, the very same Transformer who took away his voice since the war. However, Megatron was revived by Unicron shortly after, who used his body as a vessel to attack Cybertron. With Optimus missing in action at the time and Ultra Magnus badly wounded, Bumblebee became temporary leader of the Autobots. Optimus returned and defeated Unicron with the help of his team. Before Optimus became one with Primus, Bumblebee promised Optimus that they will keep the peace in his memory before Optimus left. Optimus gave one last smile to them before going into the Core. When the Sparks burst from the Well, the team watched as the sparks fly out to bring life to their home again, including Optimus's ownspark.

Years after the war finished, Bumblebee became a high ranking police officer, but was still praised as a war hero, with a partner police cadet Strongarm, but he began to see visions of Optimus leading him back to Earth with Strongarm, street punk Sideswipe and Mini-Con Fixit where they discover a crashed Decepticon ship with numerous fugitives at large. A dinobot named Grimlock, who was a prisoner on the ship, teams up with them as well as humans Denny Clay and his son Russell. Bumblebee takes leadership in his new team to hunt down the Decepticon fugitives on Earth. On some occasions, Bumblebee would mess up on his battle cries, which would make his team laugh or not impressed. In Battlegrounds, Part 2, after Bumblebee and his team, along with a revived Optimus Prime, seemingly defeated Megatronus, Bumblebee found a phrase that impressed everyone.

Biography

Bumblebee was born as one of the last generation to be created from the Well of Allsparks after it had ceased producing life. During 'The Great War', Bumblebee joined the Autobots where he fought alongside Optimus Prime and several other comrades during the centuries-old skirmish.

At an unknown point, Bumblebee took part in an operation to track down Overload, a Decepticon spy whom had managed to destroy a selection of Autobot installations. Bumblebee attempted to apprehend him, tragically however he was brutally overpowered by the physically-superior Decepticon; however, Overload was eventually captured by his leader, Optimus and placed into stasis.

Bumble Bee captured at Tyger Pax

At some point during the war, Bumblebee was captured by Decepticon forces at Tyger Pax, upon where he was brutally interrogated by Megatron though the young scout valiantly refused to reveal any information which ultimately resulted in the Decepticon leader destroying his voice box  and was subsequently left to die. However Bumblebee was later discovered by Autobot troops and was evacuated to a triage facility where he was stabilized by a field medic Ratchet where he was able to communicate (via beeps and tones), though was unable to repair his voice box and thus was rendered mute.

After Arcee had been captured and interrogated by Arachnid, immediately after the death of Tailgate, Bumblebee, alongside Cliffjumper, managed to invade her personal lair and managed to save Arcee and escort her to safety.

After the near conclusion of the war which had ultimately reduced Cybertron to become uninhabitable, Bumblebee personally joined Team Prime alongside Optimus, Ratchet (and presumably where he met Bulkhead) and thus evacuated the planet via The Ark. Together they travelled across the galaxy for thousands of years until they eventually reached Earth.

Mini Series

Human allies

During a scout for Energon, Cliffjumper was placed in a difficult battle and taken to the Decepticon warship. Bumblebee was in a different timezone, and unable to arrive until after he was captured. Bumblebee met up with Arcee, Ratchet, Bulkhead and Optimus Prime and searched the area for any clues regarding Cliffjumper's previous presence. However, Arcee was able to find one of his horns, indicating he had been killed during the battle. Bumblebee was present for the Autobots' gathered mourning of their ally's death. Arcee struck out on her own and wound up with a human, Jack Darby. During a chase between her and two Vehicons, Bumblebee interfered and charged at the two. As he continued to aid Arcee, he was forced into robot mode when the Vehicons chose to fight them. During the battle, he met Raf Esquivel and ordered him to run alongside Jack, in an attempt to evacuate. Despite his and Arcee's best efforts, the pair proved ineffective and were nearly defeated until the arrival of Bulkhead. Bumblebee went back to the Autobot base and told Optimus of his and Arcee's antics, alongside the latter. After Optimus ordered their human allies to be brought to the Autobots' base, Bumblebee went to retrieve Raf and brought him back.

Last signs of Cliffjumper

After taking the humans to the base, Bumblebee and Arcee went with Optimus and Bulkhead to find where Cliffjumper's signal had popped up at. After arriving at the signal, Bumblebee and the others discovered an Energon mine taking place by the Decepticons. Bumblebee and the other Autobots held off the Decepticons while Arcee went to recover Cliffjumper, who's body had been sliced in half by Megatron. After returning to the base and Arcee's falling out, Bumblebee was the first one to be worried about her, immediately asking if she was okay.

Leaving with Arcee

Bumblebee spent time with Raf, discovering that he had excellent driving skills on Raf's computer games. Bumblebee went with Arcee out on patrol and left Raf at the base with Bulkhead. After Bulkhead went off to go rescue Agent Fowler back from the Decepticons and was promptly joined by the humans, Bumblebee was forced to drive there.

Rescuing Fowler

The next day, Bumblebee discovered that he was a lot better than Raf at computer games, though Raf blamed it on Bumblebee's greater experience in driving. When they reached the base, Optimus and Ratchet left on a mission, placing Arcee in charge. Arcee promptly went out on patrol, taking Bumblebee with her and leaving Bulkhead in charge. As they drove through the Nevada desert, Bulkhead reported that Fowler had been abducted by the Decepticons. When it turned out there was no one left at base to bridge them back, Arcee and Bumblebee were forced to drive there.

Bumblebee and Arcee arrived at the Decepticon ship in time to rescue Raf and Jack from a pair of Decepticons. They quickly located Bulkhead and Miko, also moving through the ship, but after it became obvious that the humans were in too much danger as they fought their way through the ship, the Autobots cleared out a room for them to hide out in. They eventually reached the brig where Fowler was being held, and Bumblebee and Bulkhead burst through the main door while Arcee slipped in through a top vent.A standoff ensued, until Fowler distracted Starscream long enough for the Autobots to start firing. Starscream thusly chased off, the Autobots took off with Fowler and rescued the kids on the way out.

Space Bridge battle

Once the Autobots had located the whereabouts of the Decepticon space bridge—Earth orbit—Optimus, Bulkhead, Arcee and Bumblebee used the GroundBridge to reach it. They were spotted by Megatron and Starscream, who sent a force of flying Decepticons to attack them. While they battled, Ratchet determined a way to destroy the space bridge, so Bumblebee, Arcee and Bulkhead went to implement the plan. They committed the necessary act of sabotage before Megatron fired on them. Bumblebee collected Arcee on his way to jumping into the GroundBridge and carried her back to base where she recovered enough to stand on her own.

Season 1

Skyquake

Prime hand on Bee

Bumblebee helped Raf with his science project, building a small replica of a volcano while they discussed how Bumblebee had not yet risen to the rank of Warrior. As Optimus pointed out, Bumblebee still had much to learn before he could reach that level. Optimus also noted the lifespan of Cybertronians are much longer than that of humans. Optimus subsequently picked Bumblebee to go on a mission to investigate Decepticon activity, but warned the smaller Autobot to hold back.

When Optimus came to blows with Skyquake, Bumblebee decided to disregard the earlier order and charged into battle. Though he was no match for Skyquake, he and Optimus led the Decepticon into a trap and seemed victorious, until Skyquake scanned Fowler's jet. Bumblebee managed to end the fight by jumping onto Skyquake's jet form and causing critical damage, jumping to Fowler's jet as Skyquake crashed to the ground. After some repairs, Optimus commended Bumblebee on his performance.

Scraplets

Bulkhead and Bumblebee discovered a strange pod in the Arctic which they brought back to base. When the kids arrived at base, Bumblebee was keen to play some videogames with Raf, but he and Bulkhead were roped into helping Ratchet repair the GroundBridge, which broke shortly after Optimus and Arcee used it to go to the Arctic. The cause of the problem was revealed when Raf found a Scraplet, which started gnawing on Bumblebee's arm. Raf killed it with a crowbar before it could do much more damage, but Bumblebee ended up having to search the base with Raf for more of the Scraplets. After finding quite a lot of Scraplets, they returned to the control room, where another mass of them overwhelmed Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Ratchet. Though the kids were able to get rid of the attacking Scraplets, Bumblebee was out of it for the rest of the incident, and ended up on a repair bed, being tended to by the kids.

Wheeljack

When Wheeljack landed on Earth, Bulkhead, Arcee and Bumblebee turned out to welcome him and arrived in time to see him trash some Vehicons. The Autobots celebrated their new friend's arrival, and Bumblebee and Raf danced The Robot to Miko's guitar playing. He also stood around a lot while Bulkhead proved that "Wheeljack" was a Decepticon spy and the real Wheeljack turned up. After everything was resolved, the Autobots had another party to welcome the real Wheeljack, and Bumblebee got to bust out some more dance moves. He and Arcee turned out with Bulkhead to see Wheeljack off when the Autobot returned to space.

First MECH encounter

Bumblebee took part in the Autobot convoy to transport Fowler's Dynamic Nuclear Generation System across the US countryside. When MECH attacked them, he bashed into one of the cars they were using, flipping it over. The Autobots successfully passed the D.N.G.S. over to a train, but were shortly after confronted by a squadron of flying Vehicons, and were forced to return to their robot modes to fight. Bumblebee got to try out some boxing moves on a Vehicon, but while the Autobots were occupied, MECH made another attempt to obtain the D.N.G.S. which was foiled by Optimus.

When an Energon Harvester was located in a museum, the Autobots surrounded the building while the kids went in to steal it. Knock Out and Breakdown appeared at the front of the museum to attack Optimus, and as Breakdown charged at the museum, Bumblebee and Arcee attempted to stop him. Bumblebee was hit by a missile, sending him tumbling, and then by Arcee who'd just missed catching another missile. He, Arcee and Prime later attempted to track down the Decepticons before the Harvester could be used, but they ended up coming to Bulkhead's rescue after he found and stopped the Decepticons himself.

Street racing

When Arcee refused to go street racing with Jack, Bumblebee was more receptive, though they asked Raf's permission beforehand. Unfortunately also participating in the race was Knock Out, who started firing on Bumblebee. After calling base and letting them know what was up, Bumblebee used an oil slick to slow down Knock Out, and hid under a bridge. They would have escaped detection had another human, Vince, not confronted Jack about apparently pulling out of the race, and Vince was subsequently captured by Knock Out. After Arcee and Bulkhead arrived, the three Autobots pursued Knock Out to a storage facility, where Bumblebee and Bulkhead were ambushed by Breakdown. While Arcee chased Knock Out, Bumblebee held his strength against Breakdown before getting defeated, although Bulkhead came to Bumblebee's rescue when he slammed Breakdown with a street lamp. Meanwhile, Knockout was stopped by Optimus, who rescued Vince before requiring some explanations later on.

Venture to Nemesis

During a mission to recover any living Autobots from a crash, Optimus Prime fell under the infection of Cybonic plague and was treated at the base by Ratchet. Bumblebee later was present at the Autobot base as Optimus laid infected. Alongside Arcee, Bumblebee went to retrieve a possible cure from the Nemesis, hoping information on it would be in its database. As Arcee scattered through the ship's computer, Bumblebee spotted a comatose Megatron laying down. As the two stared at the unconscious Decepticon leader, Ratchet concluded that Megatron may know the cure and told the two to enter his brain through Cortical Psychic Patch. Though Arcee had mixed feelings, Bumblebee was more than willing to comply. As he entered his mind, Bumblebee encountered Megatron as he attacked and defeated an illusion of Optimus Prime.

After he defeated the Autobot, Megatron set his sights on Bumblebee. Knowing his own strength, Bumblebee did not try to attack the Decepticon. However, Bumblebee soon realized he was immune to his attacks as the commander struck him several times, only for Bumblebee to continue to phase through. After failing to eliminate the Autobot, Megatron realized that Bumblebee was not an illusion and started to question how he had entered his mind before concluding that he had usage of Cortical Psychic Patch. As Megatron questioned Bumblebee more, he told the Decepticon leader of his near-death experience as well as Optimus Prime's current state of being. As Megatron laughed, Bumblebee began to convince him to help Optimus, citing that he would never be able to defeat his enemy and would only be able to kill illusions of him.

Megatron was more than willing to comply, showing Bumblebee a brief glimpse of the cure before taking it back and telling him to release him from his current state of being. However, Ratchet simply was able to get a screenshot of the cure and ordered Arcee to disconnect Bumblebee. As Bumblebee awoke from his conversation with Megatron, he and Arcee were spotted by Starscream. The two escaped and soon enough, were able to return to the Autobot base, but after Bumblebee brought time for Arcee to shoot Megatron's condition when being exposed. Their mission successful, Optimus Prime was given the cure and fully healed. As the latter woke from his ordeal, Bumblebee was given a standing ovation by his fellow Autobots and their human allies.

Mind games

Bumblebee began to experience visions of Megatron, causing him to stop dead during a basketball game with Bulkhead. After Megatron forced him to crush one of Ratchet's devices, Bumblebee told Ratchet about the visions, and Ratchet induced a power down to give Bumblebee's mind time to recover. Bumblebee reactivated, under the control of Megatron, and, retrieving a piece of Dark Energon from an old battlefield, bridged to the Decepticon warship over the Arctic. Although Ratchet and Raf tried to stop him, even managing to get Bumblebee to reassert control for a few moments, Bumblebee successfully brought Megatron back online and transferred his mind back to his body. Free of Megatron's influence, Bumblebee beat a hasty retreat with Ratchet and Raf. Later at base, Ratchet checked Bumblebee was completely free of Megatron, and the small Autobot thanked Raf for coming to help him.

GroundBridge mistake

After a Dark Energon signature was detected, Optimus took a team including Bumblebee to investigate. They instead found Starscream trying to resurrect Skyquake. During the ensuing conflict, the Autobots discovered their human friends had followed them to the battlefield, and the three kids were caught in a freak GroundBridge accident, causing them to disappear. The Autobots returned to base to try and locate their friends, but it wasn't until Bumblebee suggested trying to ring the kids that they found Miko's cellphone, and the kids were able to send a text to it. Ratchet subsequently engineered a portal to rescue the kids from the other dimension they'd become trapped in.

Attempt to rescue Breakdown

When Breakdown was captured by MECH, Bumblebee and the others were more than happy to leave them to it, but Optimus insisted that they rescue the Decepticon to avoid Cybertronian technology falling into MECH hands. The team arrived in Kamchatka Peninsula and Bumblebee spotted some vehicle tracks, but they opted to follow the energon signal Ratchet had detected instead. After they escaped the bomb that the trace led them to, the team tracked down Bulkhead in time to chase off Starscream and some Vehicons.

Arcee and Bumblebee were in the middle of a fight with some Vehicons when Arcee got a call informing her she had to be in Jack's garage ASAP. After checking if Bumblebee could handle it, Arcee left. Evidently he was able to, as he was later in the Autobot base when Jack and Arcee turned up with June Darby.

Airachnid encounter

Bumblebee was part of the team that investigated the wreck of a crashed Decepticon ship and found Airachnid and Starscream. He guarded the bound Starscream while the others decided what to do with the Decepticon. Prime, Bulkhead and Bumblebee went to check out the rear half of the ship, crashed some distance away, and were ambushed by Airachnid who had found an experimental weapon named the Immobilizer. She froze Prime and Bulkhead, but Bumblebee managed to trick her by kicking up a dust cloud with his guns, and then pretending to be frozen after she fired the Immobilizer into it. Once she turned her back, he crept up and sucker punched her before blasting the Immobilizer. After she fled, Bumblebee went back to find Arcee, and interrupted her when she was about to offline Starscream. They returned the pieces of Immobilizer to base, along with Bulkhead and Optimus, and Ratchet was able to repair the device and unfreeze their comrades.

Bulkhead intelligence boost

Bumblebee accompanied Prime and Arcee as they tried to retrieve a Cybertronian data cylinder before the Decepticons did. Ultimately the Decepticons made off with the cylinder, and later Bumblebee listened as Ratchet told them the cylinder's contents had ended up in Bulkhead's brain, though the Autobots were excited to find that the equations being scrawled by Bulkhead were a set of formula for synthetic energon. Unfortunately it later turned out that the data was eating Bulkhead's brain. Bumblebee and Arcee accompanied Optimus on an unsuccessful attempt to get the cylinder back from Megatron, and they ended up fighting a bunch of Vehicons. Later they came to Miko and Bulkhead's aid to save the pair from Knock Out and Breakdown, and were present when Miko managed to rouse the comatose Bulkhead with her guitar.

During a mission to stop Knock Out and Breakdown who were transporting energon, Bumblebee, Prime and Bulkhead were separated from Arcee. They caught up to find that Ratchet had already finished off the Vehicons. Impressed by his new strength with the use of Synthetic Energon, Bumblebee and the others considered Ratchet to be their secret weapon against the Decepticons. While Ratchet trained with Bulkhead, he knocked his teammate out of the room and in front of Bumblebee and Arcee. Ratchet soon found himself telling Bulkhead that he was stronger than he used to be, before asking Bumblebee if he wanted to fight him as well. Bumblebee objected to the notion by putting his hands up as the Autobots soon detected another signal.

Ratchet opted to have Bumblebee remain at base while he and the others went for the signal. The mission resulted in a strain between Ratchet and the others due to his newfound ideals, prompting Optimus to tell him that he was confining him to base. As Bumblebee prepared a GroundBridge for him, Ratchet began to walk through before being followed by Bulkhead, who he knocked out of the way as he got out and drove off. The Autobots met Bumblebee at base, without Ratchet, who they could no longer detect. That all changed when Ratchet found himself on the floor after trying to duel Megatron. Bumblebee stayed at base again while the others went to get him and was happy to see him back.[1]

Injured Raf

Bumblebee was taking Raf to play with Raf's remote-control car when he was called on to join the battle at a military base. Unfortunately Megatron found them before he could drop Raf off, and Bumblebee was hit by a blast from Megatron's cannon. Though Bumblebee himself was mostly unaffected, Raf was gravely injured. Bumblebee arrived at the battle and had to be restrained from attacking Megatron so he and Arcee could take Raf back to base. Bumblebee watched helplessly as Ratchet and June Darby tried to save the boy. At one point, the frustration became too much, and he knocked a chunk out of the wall with his fist, but Arcee talked him down, and eventually Ratchet worked out that an energon infusion would save Raf. Bumblebee gave some of his own energon for the procedure, which was ultimately successful.

Unicron rising

After the other Autobots saved Optimus from Megatron, Bumblebee bridged them back to base. June decided to take Raf to the hospital, and didn't intend to bring him back, so Bumblebee had to sadly watch them drive from the base. When it transpired that the Dark Energon volcano was causing global disasters, he went to find June and Raf, and managed to save them from a tornado by grabbing the front end of their car. After he returned to base with them, the assembled Autobots and humans worked out that Unicron was at the center of the Earth. He and the other Autobots began investigating the sites of the earthquakes Unicron had generated.

Saving Prime

Though Optimus ordered the other Autobots to remain at base, Bumblebee, Arcee and Bulkhead joined him anyway. They fought increasingly larger stone Unicrons, until they encountered a huge one which Bumblebee thought might be the real thing but Prime told him wasn't. He and Bulkhead zoomed behind it to try and blast it, but it knocked them both aside as if they were nothing. To their surprise, help came in the form of Megatron who blasted the giant before it could crush Prime, and offered to help them fight Unicron. When Optimus gave the trio the choice of whether to accompany him and Megatron to Earth's core, Bumblebee opted to go for Raf's sake. He, Arcee and Bulkhead greeted Megatron to the Autobot base by aiming their guns at him. Before long, they stepped through the GroundBridge once again, this time into Earth's core.

Losing Optimus

As they made their way through Unicron's internals, they encountered antibodies which aggressively attacked them. When during the fight Bulkhead almost fell to his doom, Bumblebee grabbed his arm and held him long enough for Optimus to help. He, Bulkhead and Arcee remained outside Unicron's spark chamber to hold off the antibodies, but after Unicron's defeat, they entered to find Optimus had lost his memory. Megatron blasted at them, knocking them to the floor. Bumblebee saw Optimus run towards the GroundBridge and Optimus paused to look at Bumblebee. Bumblebee was sad and beeped in sadness.

Optimus left and Megatron followed back to the warship. The trio had to GroundBridge back to base without their leader.

Season 2

Reemergence of Orion Pax

The Autobots puzzled over how to get their leader back but made little progress. When Fowler warned them of an attack on a military base, Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Arcee went to try and deal with it, but Knock Out and Breakdown succeeded in getting away with the power source they needed.

Bumblebee and the others fruitlessly searched for the space bridge until the breakthrough came in the form of information from Starscream. Using said information, the Autobots stormed the mine containing the space bridge and secured it so they could send Jack and Arcee through to Cybertron.

Ratchet, Bulkhead and Bumblebee monitored Jack's progress from the Earth end of the space bridge. When Megatron arrived to take back control, Bumblebee was grabbed by the head and tossed aside. Luckily it all turned out, and Bumblebee and the others returned to base with Optimus Prime restored.

Bumblebee's T-Cog

During a mission to retrieve a Cybertronian artifact, Bumblebee followed Megatron into the Decepticon GroundBridge and snatched the Spark Extractor right out of his hand. Responding to another signal, Bumblebee was ambushed by MECH, who took his T-cog. Unable to transform, he became more and more testy despite the attempts of Raf to cheer him up. Bumblebee finally talked Bulkhead into taking him along on on a mission to find another artifact, only for his lack of a T-cog to become a liability as he tried to chase Knock Out. The pursuit ended when Bumblebee plunged out-of-control off a cliff.

When he came around back at base, Optimus restricted him to base. After an attempt to transplant Ratchet's T-cog into him was aborted, Bumblebee was pointed in the direction of the MECH base and opted to go on a one-bot assault. Though he floored Starscream and MECH in the process of getting the cog back, the vital component was blasted by Starscream. After some repair work by Ratchet, the T-cog was reinstalled in Bumblebee, and his ability to transform restored.

Wheeljack returns and Dreadwing's arrival

Bumblebee and the others came to Wheeljack's aid when he returned to Earth to battle Dreadwing. Loose Cannons Bumblebee was part of an Optimus-led mission to an abandoned energon mine in South America, where they found Megatron fighting an Insecticon. When the fight was finished, the Autobots surrounded the exhausted Megatron, but were prevented from finishing him off by the arrival of Dreadwing. Though they trashed a bunch of Vehicons, Megatron and Dreadwing escaped them.

The appearance of Nemesis Prime

When Fowler was attacked by a truck resembling Optimus, Bumblebee caught his car as it plunged from a bridge. Returning to base, they established the truck was a MECH-created clone of Optimus, and began searching for the MECH base. Bumblebee found the hideout, but after alerting the other Autobots, was knocked out by Nemesis Prime. Following Optimus's defeat of MECH, the Autobots returned to base for repairs. Nemesis Prime Bumblebee went with Optimus and Arcee to investigate some activity and found Airachnid sending out a swarm of Insecticons. He and Optimus ended up having to fight a bunch of them and won. They got to return to base with Airachnid, whom Arcee had stasis-locked.

Hunt for Relics

After the Nemesis crashed, Bumblebee took part in an attack on it with the Spark Extractor, only to be put into stasis by its weapons. He recovered back at base when the kids disabled the ship. Flying Mind Bumblebee was sent to New York City with Arcee, Jack and Miko to look for one of the Iacon relics. In the subway, they ran into Knock Out and an Insecticon, the latter of which temporarily floored Bumblebee. He recovered in time to pursue Knock Out, catching up with the Decepticon and getting the relic back. The relic turned out to be a phase shifter, which saved Bumblebee from being hit by an out-of-control sweeper train. After they chased Knock Out off, Bumblebee and Arcee were introduced to Vogel.

Bulkhead's near death experience/Smokescreen's arrival

They returned to base to find Bulkhead critically injured after his mission, and Bumblebee and Arcee helped get the Wrecker to the medical bay. Hurt During Bulkhead's recovery period, Bumblebee arrived back at base to find Miko was upset at her friend's lack of progress. Out of the Past Bumblebee was part of Optimus's team investigating a crashed escape pod when they encountered Smokescreen. When Raf discovered the presence of Red Energon on Earth, Optimus, Arcee and Bumblebee headed to a dock to retrieve it, only to run into Starscream and the Apex Armor. Bumblebee and Arcee attempted to scale the crane but were attacked by Starscream, and Smokescreen had to come to their rescue using the phase shifter.

End of MECH

When Fowler notified them that a Project Damocles satellite had been stolen by Breakdown and Silas, Optimus took a team including Bumblebee to a military base in the hope of securing the satellite control codes before the Decepticons could get them. Instead they found themselves facing both Decepticon troopers and the orbital death ray itself, controlled by Soundwave. The Human Factor During an energon hunt, Bumblebee tried to stop Smokescreen harassing a human, resulting in them both getting their picture on the net. Bumblebee later accompanied Optimus on a search for another Iacon relic, which turned out to be a Decepticon hoax, and helped secure the Star Saber.

The Omega Keys

He, Arcee and Bulkhead were happy when they learned they might soon be able to return Cybertron, but quickly realized there would be a downside in that they would have to leave their friends on Earth behind. Alpha/Omega Bumblebee was sent with Arcee to retrieve one of the keys, but they encountered Knock Out. Bumblebee was significantly damaged by the Resonance Blaster before the Decepticon got away with the key, and had to undergo repairs when they returned to base. After Smokescreen escaped the Nemesis with two of the keys, the Autobots received a message from Starscream offering a trade for the final key. Bumblebee guarded the base with Smokescreen and Arcee, but Starscream was able to steal their three keys anyway, thanks to his Red Energon.

As the Autobots equipped themselves to go to Cybertron, Bumblebee took the polarity gauntlet from storage. During their battle with the Decepticons, he used it to reclaim the Omega Keys. The Autobots subsequently found the Omega Lock, only for the Decepticons to unveil their trump card in the form of the three kids as hostages. As the Autobots had a stare off with the Decepticons, Bumblebee was forced to hand over his Omega key in exchange for Raf. Bumblebee took the young human out of the hands of Soundwave. As he did so, he happily assured Raf that he was safe as he looked through the glass at the former while walking back to the other Autobots. After Megatron gained all four of the Omega Keys, the Autobots were surrounded by several Vehicons.

After Optimus destroyed the Omega Lock to prevent Megatron destroying Earth, Bumblebee returned with the others to base, only to find that the Decepticons were attacking it. As he and the others prepared to face off, Optimus Prime concluded their only chance of survival being a tactical retreat. As the Decepticons continued to barrage the base, Bumblebee and Raf were GroundBridged away from the base to an unspecified location in the US mainland to avoid capture.

Season 3: Beast Hunters

On the run

Bumblebee and Raf roamed around the country as the two evaded recognition by a Vehicon. Following Raf's approval, Bumblebee transformed into robot mode and looked to see if any Decepticons were near, hiding behind a tree while doing so. Raf concluded that while the two were nearly caught, Bumblebee's recent change in paint job saved the two. Raf exclaimed that while he understood Optimus's decision to separate the group to make them harder to find, he questioned how the two would be able to contact the others. While Bumblebee simply wanted the two to continue to head to Jasper, Rafael was reminded of Megatron's fortress.[2]

Finding Ratchet

Upon heading to Jasper and Raf was looking on the conspiracy website, he headed for Woodlands Park Junk Yard in search for Ratchet. Though meeting up with him, he and Raf could not persuade him on joining them to look for the Harbinger for a base of operations. Unable to get the Harbinger's ship computers up and running, Ratchet came in and saved the day by assisting them in getting everything online and hacked the operating codes to get the GroundBridge up and running.

Arcee admiring Bumblebee's new paint job

At the same time, he spotted a flag ship that belonged to Ultra Magnus, reuniting with the gang, minus Optimus and Smokescreen. He was complimented by Arcee and Bulkhead on his new color scheme, with Arcee saying that if she reversed her colors like he did, she would be pink. Bumblebee and the others were introduced to the commander's weapon locker.[3]

Rebellion

Bumblebee and Arcee were sent into Darkmount as the Stealth Team. Bumblebbe was equipped with a new gun and a forcefield, while Arcee had a laser device. The two killed all the Vehicons blocking their path only for more to come behind them. They were escorted outside and about to be executed only for a reborn Optimus Prime to arrive, save the Autobots and destroy Darkmount. Bumblebee was reunited with the all of Team Prime back at their new base where Agent Fowler praised them.

Beast Hunters

When the Decepticons began hunting for Predacon bones, Bumblebee, Smokescreen and Optimus went to Texas. Smokescreen asked Bumblebee if he might ever want to be a Prime, but Bumblebee said all he wanted was to have warrior rank and he would only take it on a restored Cybertron, despite having the credentials. Despite the trio fighting off the Vehicons, Soundwave and Shockwave they still lost one tiny piece of the Predacon bone to the Decepticons. The Autobots later stormed a mine hoping for Energon, unaware they were pawns in a plan that has Project Predacon to be terminated with Autobots to take the blame by the Decepticons.

Ratchet captured

Bumblebee took offense at the fact that Smokescreen said his broken voicebox was his signature as he still missed the sound of his voice. He took part in missions to stop the Decepticons from stealing Earth technology. The Autobots secured the last target, the Solaris Particle Collider, only for the Predacon to come and take it from them. When they returned to base, they learned Ratchet was taken by Soundwave. They launched a probe to find Ratchet, followed by Optimus. Though the probe was destroyed, Ratchet sent coordinates of his location and the Autobots stormed the Nemesis.

Final battle

Stealth Team was ordered to secure the rebuilt Omega Lock, but Smokescreen abandoned them to complete his own mission. Despite resistance from Starscream and his armada, the two made it to the control room and Smokescreen returned with the Star Saber. Bumblebee climbed down the Lock to give to Optimus, but as he jumped he was shot numerous times by Megatron. He fell into the Cybermatter below, which revived him, and his voice box as well.

R.I.P

Megatron meets his end...at least for now.

In the meantime, Optimus began to lose his battle against the threat to society that Megatron had proved himself to be. While Megatron had his back turned, Bumblebee yelled out Megatron's name with his restored voice. Shocked to hear the voice he thought to have ridden, Megatron turned around and Bumblebee used this opportunity to stab Megatron straight through his spark with the Star Saber and promised that Megatron will never rob anything from anyone, like his voice. With the warship under their command, the Autobots flew it to Cybertron to use the Omega Lock to restore Cybertron. When they packed up their stuff from Earth, Bumblebee shared a sad farewell with Raf who told him he didn't have to say anything, which prompted Bumblebee to admit that he never did.

Predacons Rising

Bumblebee was promoted to "Warrior" by Optimus and a statue of Megatron was blown up in his honor. When Ultra Magnus was left in charge while Optimus went with Wheeljack to collect the AllSpark, Bumblebee spent his time in the Nemesis interrogating prisoners for the locations of Starscream and Shockwave. When Ultra Magnus was injured, Bumblebee deduced the Predacon responsible was a clone from Shockwave's experiments. Bumblebee went with Smokescreen, Arcee and Bulkhead to try and get help from Predaking but failed and went to the original Darkmount. When they downloaded a map of Shockwave's lab network they were greeted by the Unicron possessed Megatron. Despite his power they managed to escape. Bumblebee was desperate for Ultra Magnus' leadership but Ratchet told him that in the past all the other Autobots had risen above their ranks for the greater good and Bumblebee had to as well. When they later pinpointed Unicron, due to Megatron's life signal, they took the warship to fight. StarscreamKnock Out and the Vehicons tried to take the ship only for Knock Out to betray them and destroy the (needed) Immobilizer to prove his loyalty to the Autobots. When they fought the Terrocon-Predacons, aided by living Predacons, Smokescreen praised Bumblebee on his leadership skills and revealed, to Bumblebee's shock, Smokescreen almost inherited the Matrix of Leadership. When the warship crashed, the Predacons defeated and victory seemingly Unicron's, Optimus Prime returned and fought off Unicron. Bumblebee used the Polarity Gauntlet to briefly hold off Unicron before he lunged at Prime and the AllSpark. To the surprise of all the AllSpark was not in its container which sucked the Anti-Spark right out of Megatron. When Optimus had to sacrifice himself Bumblebee promised the Autobots would keep peace on Cybertron in his memory. As the sparks flew out of the well, the team gazed upon its glory and saw a red spark, possibly Optimus' spark, shine out.

Transformers: Robots in Disguise/Return to Earth

History

During the war on Cybertron, Bumblebee was involved with capturing the Decepticon named Overload. However, he ended up being badly injured by the Decepticon as a result. When Bumblebee first arrived on Earth, he frequently felt homesick for Cybertron as he revealed in Collect 'Em All. He managed to overcome his grief by learning about and adopting various Earth customs. He also maintained a video diary (exercise video) for a time as shown in History Lessons. He learned more about Earth as he developed an interest in Earth cowboys (which he revealed his knowledge about cowboys in W.W.O.D.?), exercise videos, and the band Rear Axle.

Season 1

Bee heard

Years after the War, Bumblebee took role as a street cop when Cybertron was repopulated once again with Autobots. Bumblebee and his new crime partner Strongarm were chasing down Sideswipe on Cybertron. On their mission, Bumblebee began having visions of Optimus Prime, who pointed Bumblebee that Earth was in trouble. Bumblebee ordered Strongarm to take Sideswipe to the station while he investigates at the Cybertron History Museum. He breezed passed the Matronly Docent who greeted him and he soon came to the Space Bridge room. However, Strongarm followed Bumblebee with Sideswipe still handcuffed to her. Bumblebee convinced them to fix the Space Bridge while he distracts the two guards that were outside the room. The two guards were surprised to see Bumblebee but saw something was up to which Bumblebee had to disable them. Bumblebee was able to go to Earth with Strongarm and Sideswipe following him to the planet. Bumblebee blasted their cuffs and Sideswipe went off while Strongarm walked with Bumblebee to meet Fixit. Fixit explained that the Alchemor was destroyed in some odd explosion and released most of it prisoners. Bumblebee and Strongarm went to look for Sideswipe who already revealed himself to a human. Underbite chased all four of them back to Fixit where Bee ordered Fixit and Russell to hide behind a stasis pod. When Underbite escaped to go to the Scrapyard, Bumblebee asked Fixit what Underbite was.

After learning of Underbite and his motives, Bumblebee could not allow Russell to go off on his own to save his dad. Grimlock appeared besides them and quickly vanished to fight Underbite. Bumblebee and his team were tangled in Underbite and Grimlock's little fight until Underbite got the upper hand on Grimlock, thus leaving him unconscious for a short time. When Grimlock woke up, Bumblebee did not want to put any of their lives in danger, though everyone and Grimlock convinced Bumblebee to help him take down Underbite from reaching Crown City. Bumblebee gave a poorly thought out battle cry before they left to stop Underbite. At the bridge to Crown City, Bumblebee and Strongarm used their new weapons on Underbite but their weapons stopped working. Bumblebee, Denny Clay, Grimlock and Strongarm tried their best to slow down Underbite on the bridge until Sideswipe and Russell arrived to distract Underbite. They lead Underbite to the quarry where Bee and his team tried to push Underbite into the quarry. Underbite was able to regain some strength and pushed them all back. Underbite grabbed on Denny's car and Bumblebee ordered his team to fall back. Just as Bumblebee was about to stop Underbite, Optimus Prime grabs Underbite and tosses him into the quarry. Optimus saved Denny Clay in the process.

Optimus alive

Bumblebee was surprised to see Optimus alive but questioned if it was true. Optimus informed Bumblebee that he was not certain and complimented Bumblebee about his team. He also gave Bumblebee and his team a speech about the forces on Earth and was certain they will accomplish great things. Optimus told Bumblebee that the universe has a plan for Optimus that even he does not know. He also tells Bumblebee he will prevail before vanishing. Bumblebee puts Grimlock on probation despite Strongarm wanting to follow protocol. Bumblebee talked to himself about not letting Optimus down and if he said it enough, he would believe it.

Grim and Bee

In Trust Exercises, Bumblebee, who was carried by Grimlock after their trust exercise, stopped Sideswipe and Strongarm from fighting. Bumblebee told them that they must learn to trust each other in order to work on recapturing the Decepticon fugitives. Bumblebee went with Grimlock to track down Hammerstrike who was attacking an oil tanker. While Grimlock was stuck at the bottom of the ocean, Bumblebee was left to fight Hammerstrike. While he proved the adversary, Bumblebee was dispatched and Hammerstrike told him to not pursue him. Bumblebee and Grimlock returned to the scrapyard where Fixit told Bumblebee where everyone was. Fixit also filled Bumblebee on Hammerstrike's bio and motives. Bumblebee told Grimlock about taking there are steps to learning. At the oil refinery, Bumblebee and Grimlock break in and attack Hammerstrike. After Hammerstrike broke an oil pipe, the room was slippery for both Bumblebee and Grimlock while Hammerstrike used it as a way of moving faster. However, Bumblebee used his vehicle mode to push Hammerstrike into the barrel that Grimlock was holding. They successfully captured Hammerstrike and returned to base where Bumblebee praised Sideswipe and Strongarm for working together against Steeljaw.

In More than Meets the Eye, Bumblebee, Strongarm, Sideswipe, and Grimlock worked together in bringing down Bisk at a golf field. Later, they returned to the scrapyard where they placed Bisk in a stasis pod. Fixit was feeling left out of the action despite Bumblebee trying to boost his spirits. Later, the team went to an airfield to hunt for another Decepticon that was detected, which Bumblebee gave an unsatisfying battle cry. Bumblebee encountered Chop Shop and wasn't expecting Chop Shop to split into component bugs that jumped on and zapped him. The team backed Bumblebee but Chop Shop's components got the best of them before they escaped with the pieces they stool from the airfield. Back at the scrapyard, Bumblebee and his team discussed about Chop Shop, his motives, and allowed Fixit to join them on their next attempt in bringing Chop Shop down. However, this plan was nearly unsuccessful as Chop Shop was able to use Fixit as a replacement arm. The team eventually tracked Chop Shop to his hideout where he overpowered Sideswipe, Strongarm and was about to finish Bumblebee but Bumblebee was able to get Fixit to fight back Chop Shop. It worked as Bumblebee thanked Fixit before uppercutting Chop Shop through the tanker where the Decepticon was taken down by freezing oxygen that was stored. Back at the scrapyard, Bee congrats Fixit before going with the Autobots and Denny to see Russell win his first football game. They cheered and celebrated when Russell won for his team.

In W.W.O.D.?, Bumblebee broke up a fight between Sideswipe and Strongarm during a team meeting. Then he attempted to use Optimus Prime's methods of leading on his team, to which left them to laugh as Sideswipe stated it was the worst Starscream impression. Bumblebee was puzzled by his statement about Starscream and later went with his team to the Crown City Museum to get a stasis pod containing Terrashock. As the team entered inside, Bumblebee tried to explain the concept of cowboys as they walked passed an exhibit about cowboys, which nobody understood and walked on. Bumblebee tried to act like Optimus several moments, which resulted in him failing to command his team. After Terrashock had taken Bumblebee outside of the museum in front of some humans, Denny and Russell helped Bumblebee not blow his cover by stating he was just a museum robot prop. They walked inside the museum when Bumblebee played to be defected by failing to answer Denny's question about the density on Mercury. A vision of Optimus Prime appeared on a wall in the museum where Bumblebee spoke to Optimus about the current conflicts he is facing. When he explained to Optimus about trying to be like him, Optimus replied by stating Bumblebee was not him. Before Optimus could explain further, he disappeared from Bumblebee's sight. Russell suggest to Bumblebee that Optimus wanted to explain that Bumblebee should lead as himself. As Bumblebee gazed at the cowboy exhibit, it gave him an idea that soon led him and his team to work together like cowboys in taking down Terrashock on a highway. They were successful and brought the unconscious Decepticon back to the scrapyard as they rode off into the sunset together, cowboy style.

In As the Kospego Commands!, Bumblebee saved Fixit from being nearly crushed by a falling stasis pod. He also discovers that Sideswipe tricked Fixit to avoid doing work, which he found the latter nearby listening to music. Bumblebee takes Sideswipe's headphones off him and proceeds to scold him for taking advantage of his teammates, but Bumblebee actually listened to Sideswipe's music on his headphones and dances to the rhythm. Although Bumblebee appeared to like the music, he still reminds Sideswipe to not take advantage of his teammates. When a group of strange humans who were dressed with strange attire entered the scrapyard, they asked Denny for a bunch of items, which included a generator, Bumblebee recognizes the items they requested and told Russell not to let Denny give them the generator. After Strongarm returns to the scrapyard with a Decepticon Hunter, Bumblebee believes that a Decepticon is tricking those humans into building a space bridge. While his team believes it would be a good thing to use the space bridge to go back to Cybertron, Bumblebee notes that the space bridge could be unstable and could result in a black hole that could destroy Earth. When Fixit identifies the Decepticon as Thunderhoof, Bumblebee and his team go to the Crown River Dam to guard its generator from the Decepticon's human minions, which he also gave an unconvincing battle cry. Bumblebee leaves Sideswipe and Grimlock to guard the generator while he patrols the area with Strongarm. Later, Bumblebee and Strongarm find that Sideswipe left his post to listen to music. While Bumblebee reprimands Sideswipe, the trio hear Grimlock being confronted by someone over the comms. They go back to see that Grimlock was flattened and the generator was gone. Bumblebee blames Sideswipe for leaving his post and orders Strongarm to take Grimlock back to the scrapyard since Grimlock had forgotten that he can't fly. Bumblebee and Sideswipe then head off to find that the humans were constructing a space bridge. Sideswipe comes up with a plan, which includes the pair disguising as legendary creatures called with some tree branches and fake names "Sideswingo and "Bumbeego" so that they could trick the humans into leaving from the site. It worked successfully, despite Bumblebee still having distrust in Sideswipe. As the two Autobots inspect the space bridge, Thunderhoof himself arrives and is unimpressed that his workers have been scared off. He offers to cut a deal with the pair and let them have some of his criminal empire if they help him return to Cybertron, but Bumblebee is naturally uncompromising, though Sideswipe actually seems to consider it a good idea. While Bumblebee fights the Decepticon, Sideswipe stands back, and when Thunderhoof has Bumblebee on the ground, Sideswipe announces he wants to help with the space bridge. He convinces Thunderhoof not to stomp Bumblebee and instead they fire up the space bridge, which seems to work until it turns an ominous purple color and start sucking things in. Thunderhoof decides to test it out by sending a reluctant Sideswipe through first, but Sideswipe uses the Decepticon Hunter as a mace, knocking Thunderhoof off balance and towards the space bridge. Thunderhoof stops himself on the threshold, but Bumblebee releases some girders which knock Thunderhoof in and he disappears. The two Autobots realize they can stop the black hole with an explosion and throw the generator into the space bridge. There's an explosion, and the whole space bridge is history. The Autobots pick themselves up and Sideswipe has regained Bumblebee's trust after they fist bumped each other. They also wondered what had happened to Thunderhoof.

In Collect 'Em All, Bumblebee and his team later encountered Filch, who complicated matters by being flight capable. When Strongarm felt particularly out of place on Earth, Bumblebee told her about his first time on the planet, hoping to cheer her up. After a few incidents involving Filch, and in a mission to rescue Denny from Filch's nest, Bumblebee fought Filch. When it seemed he was losing, Strongarm breaks the rules to aid her commander in battle. Filch was captured and taken by the Autobots with Denny back to the scrapyard. Later, Bumblebee commends Strongarm on breaking protocols and noticing there was no hives on her. Strongarm realized her place on the team with her friends.

In True Colors, after Grimlock turned on the other Autobots and stole Underbite's stasis pod, Bumblebee, Sideswipe and Strongarm were forced to track him down to the Crown River Dam, which Bumblebee manages to leave another unimpressive battle cry. They nearly escaped a trap set by Grimlock who had used a cryo-inducer. At the Crown River Dam, they discover Steeljaw was the "boss" that Grimlock referred to in Grimlock's first attack on the Autobots. Bumblebee engages Steeljaw but later ends up being beaten down with Strongarm by Grimlock, which Sideswipe had to aid them instead of fighting Steeljaw. While Steeljaw managed to escape with Underbite's stasis pod, the trio detained Grimlock with some wires. Fixit and Russell comms them to inform them about Minitron, who was controlling Grimlock somewhere on Grimlock's armor. The trio ended up attacking each other when Minitron jumped from Autobot to Autobot then made his way back to Grimlock where he was immediately thrown to a wall and left unconscious instead of being squished by the Dinobot. Back at the scrapyard, Bumblebee apologizes to Grimlock and makes Grimlock an official Autobot member of their team as he told Grimlock he will have Fixit change the Decepticon symbols on Grimlock's shoulders to Autobot insignias. Although Strongarm felt regret that Steeljaw escaped with Underbite's stasis pod, Bumblebee states their team is getting stronger each day.

In Rumble in the Jungle, Bumblebee let Strongarm go on a solo mission, but then followed her anyway much to her dismay. He insisted on accompanying her as "an observer", and ended up helping her capture Springload. The pair had a difficult time capturing the Decepticon a few times, which resulted in Strongarm's left hand to be burned by Springload as Bumblebee examined her hand and nearly causing them both to be trapped in a collapsing room. When Strongarm revealed to Bumblebee that she called Fixit and lied about capturing the Decepticon, Bumblebee was disappointed at her for such reckless behavior. Eventually, Strongarm asked Bumblebee for assistance, which Bumblebee stated he would be honored to aid her. Strongarm had devised a plan that proved successful as Strongarm imitates a spirit and tells Springload he's unworthy, allowing Bumblebee to sneak up and knock him into a casket. With the pair trapping the Decepticon, Bumblebee commends Strongarm for her first solo mission, which even though Bumblebee was there, she still proved herself and told her "if she continues to prove herself worthy".

In Can You Dig It?, Bumblebee met up with an old ally named Jazz in the night at the scrapyard. After a few moments of catching up (which took until the morning), Jazz offered to take Bumblebee and his team back to Cybertron to clear things up with the council but the team realized they can't leave Earth because of their mission. Suddenly, Ped attacked the scrapyard to steal their Energon cubes and nearly caused Russell to fall deep in a hole. Luckily, Bumblebee and the other Autobots saved Russell just in time, despite Ped making off with some of their Energon cubes. As the team split up to search for Ped in Ped's underground tunnels, Bumblebee gave a battle cry that left even Jazz to question it. As Bumblebee and Strongarm chased Ped, Ped's digging almost caused part of Crown City to collapse, forcing Bumblebee and Strongarm to prop it up. While Strongarm was left to hold it up, Ped mocked the Autobots as he tightly gripped on Bumblebee but he lets go of the Autobot when he overhears on Bumblebee's comm that Jazz and Sideswipe found Ped's Energon stash, which caused Ped to go after them and for Bumblebee to warn them about Ped. Later at night, the Autobots planned to lure Ped into a trap with some of Denny's paint colored blue boxes but they ended up being momentarily trapped in a hole until they were able to get out by Denny's electromagnet. Ped was successfully captured by the combine efforts of Sideswipe and Jazz. The next morning, Bumblebee helped Strongarm to her feet after she came out of the hole by Denny's electromagnet, which caused her to fall off from as the cable broke. Bumblebee then wishes Jazz safe travels back to Cybertron as they shook hands.

In Adventures in Bumblebee-Sitting!, a run-in with Quillfire's toxic spines caused Bumblebee to regress in maturity, and he began playing elaborate pranks on his teammates, such as throwing an oil pie at Grimlock's face, Sideswipe hits a tripwire and gets a load of bolts flung at him. Strongarm was also pranked as she was entirely covered in fire extinguisher foam. Sideswipe and Russell were left to watch Bumblebee as Strongarm and Grimlock head out to capture Quillfire. The pair were able to get Bumblebee to watch a cowboy movie on TV, though as the pair went to do different things, Bumblebee was bored when a commercial came on and overheard Strongarm talking to Fixit via over the comm at the Crown City carnival. Drawn to the nearby carnival, Bee enjoyed herding a bunch of elephants while riding on Grimlock in his dinobot mode, riding on some rides, and inadvertently helped the Autobots capture Quillfire in the process. Fortunately for all concerned, Quillfire's toxin eventually wore off when Strongarm had Grimlock chain Bumblebee to the top of a pole at the amusement park. Bee returned to his normal and mature state, although he had no memory of his escapades and was informed by his team that Strongarm filled in for him, which he appreciated her for that. He also discovered some "wet cement" as a classic.

In Hunting Season, Bumblebee encountered a Decepticon bounty hunter named Fracture who came to Earth to claim the bounty on Bumblebee. Drift had also arrived on Earth to collect the bounty on Bumblebee and engaged Fracture. Bee saved Drift's life when Fracture got the best of Drift and found the Autobot now owed him a life debt as they brought Drift back to the scrapyard with his Mini-Cons named Jetstorm and Slipstream. Drift's life debt to Bummblebee mostly meant Drift followed him around constantly. However, when Fracture captured the other Autobots, Bee reminded Drift that honor also meant helping friends. After Fracture's defeat, Drift considered the debt repaid as he decided to not collect the bounty on Bumblebee as he changed his opinion on Bee and left the Earth with his Mini-Cons. Fixit informed Bumblebee that Fracture's Groundbridge is still operational.

In Out of Focus, Bumblebee attempted to find his calm place as his team continued bickering during the pursuit of Malodor's Skunkticon gang at the Crown River Dam. Eventually a first encounter with Malodor and his gang led to the Autobots to be temporarily sprayed and left Grimlock to be taken hostage by the Skunkticons. Eventually, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and Strongarm met up with Malodor and his gang as they were holding Grimlock hostage in the Crown River Dam's control room. Grimlock freed himself as Bumblebee tangled with Malodor but the Skunticons managed to give the Autobots the slip. Bumblebee was left to save his team from falling off the Dam's edge and prevented a flood.

In Sideways, Bumblebee was feeling anxious at the lack of Decepticon activity as both Denny and Fixit startled him. Bumblebee got the action he craved when their first attempt to capture Clampdown proved unsuccessful. When they found Clampdown again near a garbage barge area, Bumblebee makes a deal with Clampdown but the Autobots also ended up tangling with Steeljaw's gang. Bumblebee fought Steeljaw as the Decepticon got the best of Bee and tossed the Autobot in a trash compactor but Sideswipe saved Bumblebee by preventing the machine from totally crushing him. Steeljaw Bumblebee knew

One night, Bumblebee, Denny, and Fixit headed out in search of more energon in Even Robots Have Nightmares. On returning to the scrapyard, they discovered multiple Decepticon signals in a nearby cave system; believing it to be Steeljaw's gang Bumblebee and his team headed there. The signal turned out to belong to Nightstrike and his hostage Chop Shop. Nightstrike captured the Autobots and immobilized them with his fear-inducing scream- Bumblebee experienced a nightmare about disappointing Optimus Prime. Bumblebee was able to escape with the unexpected help of Chop Shop and managed to capture Nightstrike after deactivating his audio receptors.

Bumblebee and the other Autobots headed to Crown City's subway system after Sideswipe scouted it out in Some Body, Any Body. On arriving, they discovered that the mad scientist Vertebreak had hijacked Sideswipe's body. Bumblebee fought Vertebreak and discovered his lab with Fixit. They discovered Sideswipe's head still intact, which left Sideswipe to believe he was useless to the team. Bumblebee tried to convince Sideswipe he is vital to the team. When they caught up with the other Strongarm and Grimlock, Bumblebee fought Vertebreak with them while Sideswipe stayed in the jar from the fight. After avoiding a train, the trio fought Vertebreak again but this time with Sideswipe's guidance, Bumblebee and the team managed to knock Vertebreak unconscious, and captured him as Sideswipe's head was repaired back on his body by Fixit.

After Jetstorm returned to Earth and claimed Russell as his new sensei, Bumblebee was left in an awkward predicament as he tried to negotiate with Drift and Slipstream in One of Our Mini-Cons Is Missing. The escape of Quillfire and Springload complicated things further. Bumblebee and his team chased the duo, who had stolen a human tank, across a local highway and eventually managed to bring them in. Drift and his students decided to remain with Bumblebee and his team.

Bumblebee oversaw a training exercise for his teammates in Deep Trouble. Later, the team went underwater in pursuit of Octopunch, who was planning to steal an abandoned Cybertronian spaceship. After fighting off the ship's various security measures, Bumblebee and Grimlock went up against Octopunch themselves, and managed to best him by knotting his tentacles together. They brought the fugitve back to the scrapyard after they all escaped from the exploding ship. When Bumblebee ordered Fixit to repair Grimlock, Strongarm strangely decides to go on patrol and Bumblebee tells Grimlock that Strongarm is perfect example of commitment.

Bumblebee and the team, minus Grimlock, went after Groundpounder and his cheating manager Headlock, who were posing as remote-controlled robots in the Rumbledome's demolition derby in The Champ. Unfortunately, the GroundBridge malfunctioned, first stranding the team in the Arctic and then depositing them outside the city limits. Bumblebee and the others were held up by traffic while Grimlock and Fixit fought the two Decepticons.

Fixit's glitches began worsening, and Bumblebee had no choice but to order repairs on the damaged Mini-Con in The Trouble with Fixit. Denny's attempts to repair Fixit only reactivated his sentry protocol. Bumblebee was forced to deal with the scrapyard's various security measures and the escaped Chop Shop, but with Denny's assistance he managed to force Fixit to stand down after the Mini-con incapacitated Chop Shop. Fixit was repaired to his normal state (which in this case was Fixit's normal state) and Bumblebee also received a message from Optimus Prime on a piece of glass that he was holding. Optimus informed Bumblebee to be prepared and prepare his team for a certain threat before he disappeared on the glass.

Bumblebee and the Autobots helped Denny set up a rollercoaster he had purchased on the scrapyard in Lockout. The job was cut short after they detected Kickback, who had been captured by Steeljaw to serve as bait for the Autobots. After returning to the scrapyard, Bumblebee discovered that Steeljaw and his crew had taken over the scrapyard and set up a subsonic pulse to prevent them from entering. While Denny and Russell distracted the Decepticons, Bumblebee and Drift built a catapult and launched Slipstream and Jetstorm into the scrapyard. Bumblebee tangled with Steeljaw again and managed to see him off. The Autobots thanked their human allies for their assistance.

Bumblebee welcomed Grimlock back from a routine patrol, only for Grimlock to break down and confess that he had let the Decepticon Scowl walk away free in Similarly Different. After searching up Scowl's extensive criminal record, the Autobots tried to track him down. Instead, Scowl flattened them with a tree and headed out to wreck a train station. Bumblebee tried to talk Scowl down, but the Dinobot would have none of it and began smashing the tracks. Bumblebee's attempts to shore up the destroyed structure were unsuccessful, and eventually the Autobots were forced to grab the train and redirect its path. After Grimlock prevented Scowl from attacking a local spa, Bumblebee consoled Grimlock, who had hoped he could change Scowl's ways.

Bumblebee listened to Strongarm's presentation about the dangers of horses, although he was skeptical of its significance in The Buzz on Windblade. The newly arrived Windblade won over most of his team, and even impressed Bumblebee by coming up with a catchy motto. Along with Windblade, Bumblebee and his team worked together to re-capture Zizza and safely redirect human aircraft away from Zizza's brainwashed human pilots with a plan that Strongarm came up with.

When his team felt homesick for Cybertron, Bumblebee tried to cheer them up by reminding them of Earth's many interesting locations, and offered to take the team on a vacation in Ghosts and Impostors. Since an erupting volcano proved unpopular, the team visited the abandoned town of Edmondville. After scaring off a busload of human tourists, Bumblebee and his team ran afoul of Pseudo, who first tried to off Bumblebee and Grimlock with a cart of dynamite. Though Grimlock punched the cart, the dynamite merely left them covered in ash. Bumblebee and his team chased Pseudo into the town's old mines, and temporarily cornered him. Pseudo managed to escape again, but Bumblebee and the team chased him down and captured him. They also observed a sunset together as Fixit called to check on them.

In Battlegrounds, Part 1, when Strongarm and Sideswipe were taken hostage by the Decepticons, Bumblebee realized that they'd have to mount a rescue mission. This was made easier by the reappearance of Windblade, and together the group prepared to raid the Decepticon's steel mill base. After Windblade was also taken out of the fight, Bumblebee, Grimlock and Drift headed to the Crown City Colossus, where Steeljaw's portal was nearing construction. The trio arrived too late, and Megatronus was freed from his dimensional prison.

In Battlegrounds, Part 2, Bumblebee's team was reinforced by the arrival of a reborn Optimus Prime; while Optimus dueled with Megatronus, Bumblebee and the other Autobots worked to stave off Steeljaw's gang. After Optimus was badly injured and sent flying, Bumblebee tried to help him come round as he observed the wound on Optimus's chest heal. Fortunately, after a boost in the air from Megatronus, Bumblebee helped Grimlock take out Underbite. As Optimus was seemingly losing to Megatronus, Bumblebee's Decepticon Hunter gave him, Sideswipe, and Strongarm an additional boost of power. Working with Optimus, the group fought and managed to pin Megatronus beneath the Colossus's severed arm, and a concentrated burst of energy destroyed Megatronus's body. Back at the scrapyard, Bumblebee told his team that they were free to return to Cybertron, although all of them opted to stay. Prime congratulated Bumblebee on his leadership skills, and also agreed to stay on Earth as Bumblebee's equal, rather than his leader.

Season 2

After the Primes took back Optimus's extra power, Bumblebee attempted to sideline Optimus without success in Overloaded, Part 1. Optimus joined the team Bumblebee assigned to hunt Decepticons far from the scrapyard. While the away team was gone, Overload arrived at the scrapyard, who Bumblebee arrogantly recognized. Despite the best efforts of Bumblebee and the others, they were unable to stop the Decepticon from escaping the scrapyard in his pursuit of Optimus Prime.

In Overloaded, Part 2, after tracking Overload to a parking lot, Bumblebee assumed a recent battle there had been between Overload and the two missing Cyclone Mini-Cons, and sent Grimlock and Strongarm off to hunt the Cyclones while he continued after Overload on his own. As it turned out, Overload and the Mini-Cons were together as they were smashing up a trailer outside of Crown City with screaming humans inside. Bumblebee intervened and pinned Overload to the ground as he punched him around and attempted to get the Decepticon into remembering him. While Overload got up, he thought Bumblebee was "some critic" that called Overload "shameless and over dramatic" in the past, but Bumblebee informed him that it wasn't. Overload pinned Bumblebee on the ground and began hitting him in the face as he stated his face did look familiar but it was't as distinctive as Overload's face. However Bumblebee managed to convince Ransack and Backtrack to turn on the Decepticon by hitting Overload with some pans that made sounds that appealed to the Cyclones. As the Cyclones used other pans to hit Overload with, Bumblebee stated that while he was hoping that Overload would recognize him so that he could punch his lights out, he just punched Overload in the face and left him unconscious. Grimlock and Strongarm walked towards Bumblebee's success of taking down Overload, which Grimlock complimented on Bee's punch by dubbing it as "downright Grimlockian". Bumblebee formed a "marching band" with the Cyclones with their pots and pans as they marched back to the scrapyard.

In Metal Meltdown, Bumblebee and his team pursued a strange Decepticon named Saberhorn and discovered the Decepticon didn't appear in the Alchemor database. Bumblebee fought Saberhorn but he escaped from the trio with some ore that he collected. They proved unable to capture him in a second attempt after Bumblebee was forced to surrender to Saberhorn when Russell was used as a hostage by Saberhorn and Bee nearly ended up being melted down. Fixit disturbingly informed them that Saberhorn was placed on the Alchemor.

In Suspended, when Strongarm became demoralized during the failed pursuit of Crazybolt and Slicedice, as she turned in her Decepticon hunter to Bee. Bumblebee also failed to encourage her by getting her to help Fixit. Bumblebee and Grimlock attempted to deal with a fire caused by the two Cons, and managed to get Strongarm out of the scrapyard to join them in saving some humans. Bumblebee returned Strongarm her Decepticon Hunter and they all shared a laugh when Strongarm prevented herself from destroying Denny's gnomes as she stated she was a professional.

In Brainpower, after capturing Torpor, Grimlock soon gained super-intelligence from a data cylinder, Bumblebee was reluctant to let him join on a hunt for Simacore. During the attempt to capture the Con, Bumblebee and Strongarm fought Simacore's Mini-Cons and ended up being defeated by Simacore himself. They were used as hostages and were placed in peril in the particle accelerator to be destroyed if Grimlock did no surrender the circuit board. However, Fixit was able to restore Grimlock's brain and the Dinobot rescued them both. They brought Simacore and his Mini-Cons back to the scrapyard.

In Misdirection, the Autobots were stupefied at Russell's coin trick. When a wounded Steeljaw turned up at the scrapyard, Bumblebee, Strongarm and Grimlock followed the trail of energon he'd left to a disused drive in. In the process of fighting and capturing Scorponok, his Mini-Cons, Crazybolt and Slicedice, Bumblebee discovered that Steeljaw had been feigning to gain access to the scrapyard which he had to cover Strongarm escaping to the scrapyard to stop Steeljaw while he dealed with the Decepticons with Grimlock. When Scorponok had the upper hand over Grimlock, Bumblebee seemingly surrendered and played a trick on the Decepticons with a rock as he claimed Steeljaw was after Earth's "magic". As he provided enough time for Grimlock, they defeated the Decepticons and Bee gave Grimlock cuffs to put them in before leaving. Ultimately he arrived back at the scrapyard too late to prevent Steeljaw from freeing a bunch of the prisoners. They placed the other Decepticons in some stasis pods.

In Bumblebee's Night Off, after weeks of trying to track down the new group of Decepticons, Bumblebee accidentally shot Grimlock during an encounter with Springload in a railyard. At the scrapyard, Bumblebee announces they will be back out on patrol in fifteen minutes which prompted Denny to advise him to let himself and his team to take a break. When Fixit informs about Decepticon activity at the Rumbledome where Bumblebee and Denny's favorite concert band Axle will be performing, Bumblebee was thrilled but as the Autobots and Denny were busy, Russell reluctantly went with Bee. Bumblebee remained outside of the stadium in his vehicle mode as he informed Russell to get clear of any trouble, get Denny's T-shirt and a steering wheel cover in a size medium for Bee's wheel. Bumblebee was bouncing around through the music in the stadium but paused when a couple had passed his vehicle mode then resumed bouncing again. Rusell found and informed Bee about Bisk in the stadium. Bumblebee contacts his team for backup and Russell helps him get pass security at the loading area. Strongarm reports to Bumblebee that they were stuck in traffic and when Bumblebee goes with Russell to reach the backstage area, they discover the Decepticons were gone. Bumblebee thinks that Bisk may have gone after the sound board that was being used for the concert. Bumblebee promptly goes up the stage where the stage manager assumed he was part of the show. Bumblebee is happy to go along with it, and soon he fights Bisk in full view of the audience. Bumblebee is momentarily starstruck when he realizes where he is, allowing Bisk to unleash Hammer and Anvil on him while the Con heads for the sound board. After taking out the two Mini-Cons, Bumblebee resumes fighting Bisk while Rear Axle continues playing. Bisk nearly had the upper but after a sudden bost of inspiration from his band that was playing on the stage, Bumblebee takes out Bisk just as the band hits the big finish to their song. Later, Bumblebee and Russell throw Bisk and his Mini-Cons into a big box and get them out of the venue. Bumblebee claimed to Russell that he was extremely overjoyed that he was part of the show for his favorite band. Returning to the scrapyard, Russell shows Bumblebee the picture he has of the pair of them with Rear Axle.

In Impounded, following a near disaster while trying to apprehend Silverhound, Bumblebee banned Grimlock from being part of their field missions. He and Strongarm attempted to capture Quillfire, only to be knocked out by his quills and subsequently had to be rescued from an impound lot by Denny and Russell. Grimlock was there in a new disguise that Fixit made for him and helped them deal with Quillfire. After Bumblebee and Strongarm incapacitate Quillfire's Mini-Cons, they ended up in a maintenance pit but Grimlock captured the Decepticon after spinning him around on his crane hook. Bumblebee approved the Dinobot's new disguise for use on missions as they were going home.

In Portals, when Strongarm was stuck under a turret with Grimlock attempting to get her out, Bumblebee arrives to shut the turret down before it takes out most of the scrapyard. He reflects he will always be there to assist and states the team was like a family. When Soundwave returned and trapped Bumblebee in the shadowzone, Bumblebee was still able to communicate with the rest of his team, mainly Fixit, by radio. He was utterly incapable of being there for his team against Soundwave and his Mini-Con Laserbeak. After his team seemed defeated, it gave him an idea. He came up with a plan for his team to defeat the Decepticon. It worked as Bumblebee escaped from the shadowzone, destroys Soundwave's transmitter and fights Soundwave, which Soundwave was able to get the better of Bee and pinned the Autobot down. He prepared to shoot Bee but was knocked back into the shadowzone along with Laserbeak who was thrown in by Grimlock. Bumblebee was impressed that his own team were able to take on a Decepticon like Soundwave without him but his team reminded him that they were following his plans.

In Decepticon Island (Part 1), Bumblebee found his orders were being double-guessed by Optimus during a mission with the other Autobots to track down a Decepticon. However, it was quite surprising as they reunited with Ratchet and brought him back to the scrapyard with Clampdown, who was placed in a stasis pod. Ratchet explains to the team about the regime on Cybertron that the council blamed Optimus and members of Team Prime for the destruction of their planet. Upon Toolbox arriving in the scrapyard and informing the team about the Decepticon island which Steeljaw had joined, the Autobots began working on their plans to place a stasis bomb in the Decepticon island. Later, the Autobots use one of Denny's boats to head out towards the Decepticon island, which they all pretended to be unconscious while Grimlock steered the way. Bumblebee helped Grimlock with a ruse to infiltrate the crash of the Alchemor when a Decepticon picked up on their signal. The ship appeared in the water and the Autobots took advantage when Grimlock knocked out two Decepticon guards. As the Autobots make their way into the ship, they're shocked to find numerous Decepticons who were in the ship. They came to a chamber where Mini-Cons were being forced to work. Their presence was compromised when one of the Mini-Con slaves called on Toolbox, which left Optimus having the urge to save the Mini-Cons while Bumblebee wanted to finish the mission. Their argument delayed enough time for more Decepticons to enter the room and surround the Autobots, with Steeljaw "welcoming" the Autobots to his new Decepticon empire.

In Decepticon Island (Part 2), After Windblade uses herself to distract the Decepticons, the Autobots escape the room and soon split up, with Bumblebee taking Optimus and Toolbox to fix a cryo-gas bomb to the ship's ventilation hub. After Bumblebee and Optimus sorts out their leadership issues, they also encountered and fought a Decepticon Hunter empowered Steeljaw. Bumblebee attempted to take on Steeljaw, only to be knocked aside and nearly finished off until Fixit arrives with his fellow Mini-Cons who were all freed. With the help from Fixit, Toolbox, and the other Mini-Cons, Bumblebee and Optimus succeeded in taking the Decepticon down as Bumblebee regained his Decepticon Hunter in the process and uses it to trap Steeljaw in the floor. Together, all of the Autobots and Mini-Cons escaped before the bomb froze every Decepticon on the ship. In the aftermath, Bumblebee and Optimus reconcile as Optimus wanted to check out the new regime on Cybertron. He also informed Bumblebee that he will come to his aid should Bumblebee ever need it and compliments Bumblebee's leadership then they shook hands. After they watched the boat leave, Bumblebee announced it was time to establish a permanent base on Earth with his team members following him back to the scrapyard.

Season 2 1/2

In History Lessons, with the Decepticons no longer a problem, Bumblebee took his team on a tour of Earth, ending up in a visit to the remains of Output Omega One where they stumbled on a bomb. The team split up, and Bumblebee and Sideswipe stumbled on the scavengers Paralon and Buzzstrike, who were trying to find useful artifacts. Though Bee was knocked out cold after being controlled by Buzzstrike, he managed to prevent the bomb from doing any major damage. Unfortunately Sideswipe found his old diary, which included the exercise video he'd made.

In Strongarm´s Big Score, after it became clear that an unknown group was looking for, Bumblebee split up the team to search Cybertronian sites and personally went to western Africa. He and the rest of the team were accidentally GroundBridged back to the scrapyard instead of Mount St. Hilary because Denny and Russell couldn't work the controls.

In Pretzel Logic, while continuing the search, Bumblebee and Sideswipe ended up in a desert. They later joined Grimlock when the Dinobot encountered Thermidor and Tricerashot, however when Thermidor threatened to bring down a ski lift, Bumblebee's impatience resulted in him being defeated by the scavenger and it was down to Grimlock to retrieve the artifact. Bumblebee later worked on learning patience from Brother Gunter.

In Mighty Big Trouble, Bumblebee and his team retrieved a high energy pulse generator from Egypt, only to have to destroy it when it threatened to fry their brains. Following the invasion of the scrapyard by the Weaponizer Mini-Cons, Team Bee's Mini-Con members were mistakenly abducted by Starscream's men, and Starscream then used them to force Bumblebee to surrender himself.

In Mini-Con Madness, after an aborted attempt to escape and find the Mini-Cons, Bumblebee was tied up on the bridge of Starscream's ship and forced to listen to the Decepticon's rambling. He did manage to distract Starscream when Jetstorm got free. When Starscream had finally captured the Weaponizer Mini-Cons, Bumblebee was there to witness Starscream gloat.

In Worthy, Bumblebee was eventually freed by Fixit, Jetstorm and Slipstream and joined by Optimus and the rest of Team Bee, as they fought Starscream's men. They eventually managed to defeat Starscream, despite him successfully merging with the Weaponizer Mini-Cons, by dragging him down into range of Fixit's signal so he could be de-merged. After fare-welling Optimus and the Mini-Cons, Bumblebee and his team split up to search more Cybertronian sites.

Season 3

In King of the Hill (Part 1), when a Decepticon was detected, Bumblebee was confident that Sideswipe and Strongarm could handle it. Bee and the rest of the team had to join them when it turned out they couldn't.

In King of the Hill (Part 2), during the battle against Heatseeker, Bumblebee found himself unexpectedly linked to a Mini-Con which gave him a flight mode, and an explosion resulted in the entire team being merged into one robot while unconscious. In the aftermath, Bumblebee realized he'd lost his Decepticon Hunter.

In Defrosted, Bee searched for his weapon in the scrapyard, fruitlessly, though his search was put on hold when the team had to head to one of Windblade's caches in Antarctica to secure Crustacion.

In Blurred, while trying to secure another cache, the team encountered Rescue Bot Blurr, resulting in Bumblebee having to handle Sideswipe being paranoid about being replaced. As a result, they had to chase down Ragebyte after the Sharkticon prisoner escaped.

In Sphere of Influence, Bee and the rest of his team found themselves coveting the Sphere of Doradus thanks to the energies the artifact was giving off, and had to resist it so they could capture Springload.

In Bee Cool, Bumblebee became jealous of the rapport Blurr and Sideswipe had, and his attempts to be cool caused trouble as the team tried to apprehend Dragstrip and Wildbreak. Although the Stunticons got away, the team secured the weapons and Sideswipe complimented Bumblebee's leadership which they share a new style of handshake with each other.

In The Great Divide, during another attempt to capture Dragstrip, the team once again inadvertently merged, and in the aftermath found themselves having to cope with two Sideswipes. In the end, the weapon from Dragstrip was recovered and the two Sideswipes were merged into one Sideswipe.

In Get a Clue, as the team investigated a series of Decepticon thefts, Bumblebee encouraged Strongarm to cultivate her detective skills, leading them to capturing three Decepticon brothers.

In Out of the Shadows, when Drift's old mentor Shadow Raker showed up on Earth, Bumblebee and the team helped Drift recover his Mini-Con students after the Decepticon kidnapped them.

In Disordered Personalities, another of Fixit's combiner experiments led to the Autobots temporarily switching bodies. Stuck in Grimlock's body, Bumblebee was forced to sit out the subsequent road race mission to defeat the Stunticons. In the end, his team managed to save the driver and they switched back to their original bodies.

In Guilty as Charged, Bee and the rest of the team attempted to help Strongarm's friend Nightra after she turned up apparently being pursued by Blastwave, only to discover that Nightra was the criminal and Blastwave was an Autobot bounty hunter. In the end, Nightra was apprehended by Strongarm and the team returned to the base.

In The Golden Knight, Bumblebee took Fixit with him to an English island where they encountered Flamesnort and had to shut down the Decepticon's seismic-shock warhead before it could destroy Earth.

In The Fastest Bot Alive!, after an experiment led to Grimlock developing super speed, Bumblebee confined him to base. During an attempt to recapture Simacore, Bee had to contend with Grimlock turning up to help as well.

Physical Appearance

Body and car modes

Bumblebee ready to fight

Come at me bro

During the Great War, Bumblebee was much smaller than the other Autobots. He was primarily colored in yellow, with several rims of red and black on his body. His vehicle mode is a fiction made car called the Urbana 500.

Stealth Bumblebee

300px-PredaconsRisingBumblebeeisaWarrior

In Beast Hunters, his paint is now mostly black with yellow stripes of his body. His head is still mostly yellow with a black stripe down the middle. All the parts of his body that previously glowed blue, now glow yellow.

Transformers: Robots in Disguise

Bumblebee retains his yellow and little of his black color scheme. His vehicle mode is a bit similar to his old vehicle mode from Transformers Prime.

Personality

Bumblebee is a quiet and a very playful Autobot. He seems to never bother his teammates at all and even the human kids look up to him. Despite his nice demeanour, Bumblebee holds a burden in him, due to Megatron ripping out his voice box during his time back on Cybertron. Bumblebee doesn't realize that he doesn't have to prove anything to his teammates and that they all see him as a valuable member of the Autobots. He seems to posses some irresponsibility problems as he jumped on the chance to engage in illegal street racing and disobey some of Optimus's orders.

Despite his long history with the Autobots, Bumblebee wanted to take the ultimate step and gain the courage to be bold. He didn't realize however, that he had already become bold on his own and was looked at highly by the other Autobots. Bumblebee's biggest challenge is convincing himself that he is the only one that sees him unfit to carry out tasks in the Autobots' missions. Despite being a soldier, Bumblebee is still young by Cybertronian standards and has the mind set of 12-16 year old child. It has been implied by Arcee that Bumblebee watches Earth cartoons on Saturdays. However, when the situation calls for it Bumblebee can become very serious. It is implied that Bumblebee is very ashamed of not being able to speak and did not tell Raf how he lost his voice box.

Bumblebee got his voice back after getting revived by the Cybermatter and killing Megatron with the Star Saber in Deadlock.

After gaining his wish of becoming a full pledged warrior, Bumblebee began to mature through his outlook as with the threat of Unicron approaching Cybertron and with Optimus unavailable, Bumblebee reluctantly took on the role of leader of the Autobots where he managed to gain the Predacons trust in Predacons Rising.

In Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Bumblebee is far more serious and mature, despite his fame as a war hero and despite being a high ranking police officer, he is a humble peacekeeper, just like in Predacons Rising. On an another positive note, Bumblebee is reluctant to be a leader. He frequently trys to rally his troops with a battle cry to impress them, no avail. He shows signs of trepidation when he acted like a leader and fears letting his former mentor Optimus Prime down. However, despite his reluctance, he maintains control and demonstrates optimism and trust with his new team. When Megatronus nearly attempts to destroy Earth, Bumblebee is reunited with Optimus and unknowingly abandons his team for the first half of the battle. However, Bumblebee redeem himself for it when he worked with Sideswipe and Strongarm in using their Decepticon Hunters to upgrade their forms. Soon after his team has seemingly defeated Megatronus, Bumblebee impressed everyone including Optimus by stating a decent and catchy battle cry. After they placed Steeljaw's pack (with Steeljaw remaining at large) in stasis pods, Bumblebee welcomes Optimus to join his team, which Optimus remained.

In season 2, Bumblebee has shown a hidden personal grudge against the Decepticon named Overload. However, even though Overload did not recognize Bumblebee, Bumblebee had some satisfaction when he punched Overload and left him unconscious as he captured him. He seems to have grown attached to his team as shown in Portals where he states they were like a family with Sideswipe being a "crazy cousin" and his team also relied on his leadership to defeat Soundwave and his Mini-Con Laserbeak. In Decepticon Island (Part 1), Bumblebee and Optimus began to have some discord before and during a mission to stop Steeljaw and his army by placing a stasis bomb in Decepticon island. Although their conflict continued in Decepticon Island (Part 2), Bumblebee was able to talk with Optimus and it left Optimus persuaded as he lets Bumblebee lead. After the Decepticons on Decepticon island were all successfully in stasis, Optimus and Bumblebee make up as Optimus advises Bumblebee to never doubt himself as he truly became a leader.

Powers and Abilities

Bumblebee is an excellent scout, due to his speed and small size. He is able to hold his own in battle facing off opponents such as Breakdown. He possesses leadership qualities which is shown in "Predacons Rising", as he lead the Autobots in the fight against Unicron. He is armed with two Energon blasters in his arms, he is also armed with an energy shield along with a plasma cannon. Interesting, he does not use his Energon blasters in the sequel most likely due to him being a cop.

After Cybertron's restoration Bumblebee grew into a veteran warrior, which he has proven to be an adept fighter as he can easily engage numerous Decepticons twice his size, even going toe-to-toe with Steeljaw. Interestingly, he appears to have inherited many of his former allies abilities including Arcee's dexterity as he can perform many amazing feats of high jump attacks and close-quarter combat, Bulkhead's strength which he uses to face off against challenging opponents, Ratchet's strategic mind and technological skills and Optimus's leadership qualities which ultimately make Bumblebee one of the strongest Autobots on-line.

Trivia

  • Bumblebee's appearance is heavily based on his Movie counterpart. The only other Autobot designed such is Optimus Prime. And like his movie counterpart (at least in the first live action movie), Bumblebee was able to talk in the end of the show.
  • Bumblebee finally got his wish of moving from scout to warrior on Cybertron in Predacons Rising
  • Many fans believe that the real reason Bumblebee can not speak throughout most of this series, it is because the creators of this series could not find the perfect voice actor for him until the end of the series, however some believe it may have been because his earlier incarnations were too annoying.
  • Bumblebee and Arcee are the only two Autobots of the entire series to go on more than one relic hunt together.
  • Bumblebee was once seen in an episode of a newer Transformers series, Transformers Rescue Bots, episode; Bumblebee To The Rescue. It is said by the character, Blades, a bot who can turn into a helicopter, that Bumblebee is legendary. It seems that Blades is Bumblebee's biggest fan, and, towards the end of that particular episode, the character, Cody Burns, starts to understand Bumblebee's speech.
  • According to the Autobits in the first three episodes of Beast Hunters, Frank Welker actually did dialogue for Bumblebee until it was decided to replace the dialogue with sound effects instead.
  • At San Diego Comic Con, it revealed that Bumblebee will be voiced by Will Friedle (Terry McGinnis from Batman Beyond, Deadpool from Ultimate Spider-Man and Lion-O from 2011 remake of Thundercats) in Deadlock.
  • He is the first incarnation of Bumblebee to offline Megatron.
  • Despite being the weakest of the Autobots aside from Arcee (and by a lot of fans, the most useless) Bumblebee has the highest kill count of the Autobots being the one to offline Skyquake and eventually Megatron.
    • Thus, Bumblebee has shown to be far from useless.
  • On that subject, Bumblebee was often the least favorite from fans, many beleving that Smokescreen was his replacement for kid appeal character. However once he started speaking in Deadlock and Predacons Rising his popularity greatly increased.
  • Ultra Magnus, Wheeljack, Smokescreen and Bumblebee never use built in melee weapons with Bumblebee never using any in the entire series.
  • Bumblebee is shown to be a good liar, as he was able to trick Predaking into believing that a piece of metal he found was the Immobilizer and have Starscream believe that he did not possess it for a moment.
  • When auditions were held for Bumblebee's voice in Season 3, voice actors were led to believe that were reading for the role of Bluestreak as the producers wanted a true fan of Transformers to voice such an iconic character.
  • He will return in the sequel in 2015 as the main protagonist. Revelations about the sequel states that he will have visions of Optimus, implying that Optimus becomes his guide.
  • Bumblebee seems to be the only Autobot who does not have eyelids. The Vehicons, Insecticons, Soundwave, Shockwave, and possibly Makeshift are the only known Decepticons that do not seem to have eyelids.
  • Since Bumblebee appears older than Sideswipe and Strongarm, his character is a lot like Cade Yeager in Transformers: Age of Extinction". They both act like adult figures and have different relationships with other characters. For example: Bumblebee and Sideswipe both have a similar relationship and traits to Cade Yeager and Shane Dyson.
  • He is the only Cybertronian to be caught on camera more than once.
  • Bumblebee think's of Earth as his second home.
