Nel Yomtov was feeling particularly lazy this morning
Block coloring is often used, especially in pre-1990's comics, to get away with not having to fill in every single color of a character. This is most often used in the background, but shows up in other places, as well. Sometimes, the backgrounds get more attention than the characters. The reason for this remains a mystery.
