Betatron is the product of Scattershot's special combinational abilities, which bypass the awkward merging of personalities that most Combiners suffer from to form an effective warrior. As such, Betatron serves as a secret weapon for the Autobots, capable of forming and re-forming with new components at the drop of a hat, even whilst battle rages around him.
He is presumably, given his name, a predecessor to Computron. Don't mistake him for Superion or Optimus Maximus.

Combiner Wars[]

But unfortunately, as a gamer, I don't get respect.
- Prowl (Deluxe, 2015)
- Ironhide (Deluxe, 2015)
- Scattershot (Voyager, 2016)
- Sunstreaker (Deluxe, 2015)
- Mirage (Deluxe, 2015)
- Accessories: rifle (combined from gun and shield), four small weapons, four hands/feet
- Betatron can be formed by attaching any four Combiner Wars Deluxe Class figures (although we suggest Decepticons might not be all too appropriate) in limb mode to Voyager Class Scattershot's torso mode. Scattershot's packaging suggests a configuration with Prowl, Ironhide, Sunstreaker, and Mirage.
- Betatron is armed with a 5 mm rifle formed by combining Scattershot's gun and shield, which can be further expanded by attaching Legends Class Powerglide or one of his mold-mates in gun mode.

Notes[]
- The name "Betatron" was previously used by Mego for a Micronauts toy in the late 1970s. That wasn't a terribly good effort either!
- In the 1980s, ancillary Generation 1 materials in Japan also assigned Scattershot as the torso of the cross-team formations Autobot Super Scramble and Comperian (opposing Decepticon Super Scramble and Abomenaticus with Hun-Gurrr as the torso).
- In 2016, Fun Publications also created the character Modulus with Scattershot as a torso
