After Squawktalk contracted some sort of Internet virus and began chanting spam phrases, Ravage suggested that Beastbox invest in an anti-virus. Beastbox was more interested in clarifying that he was a gorilla, in light of Squawktalk's loud commands to "punch the monkey!" Recordicons #19

Beastbox's colors are meant to look like the titular character from Birdman and the Galaxy Trio, and later Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, when he combines with Squawktalk.
