The Revenge of Starscream begins.
Plot[]
Starscream remembers. Every insult. Every admonishment. Every time Megatron humiliated or mocked him. And now, his leadership of the Seekers, his Seekers, was taken away and given to Slipstream, of all bots. As Shockwave, Megatron and a Seeker escort make their way through the passages of their fallback position under the surface of their moon, unnoticed behind them Starscream seethes...
Back on the surface, the Autobots have gathered in front of the elevator door the Decepticons used to retreat as Wheeljack attempts to cut through. Entering a control room, a limping Megatron collapses but is caught by Shockwave who again points out that he needs immediate repair. Megatron again waves off his concern and demands to know what Shockwave has in store. Satisfied with Shockwave's secondary plan to smash the moon into Earth with the use of planetary engines built on the dark side of the moon, Megatron gives the order to proceed.
The engines flare to life and slowly begin moving the moon towards Earth, the resulting quake knocking the Autobots off their feet (and almost costing Windblade her head when Wheeljack's laser torch is knocked over). As the Autobots realise what is happening, Megatron's injury appears to get the better of him as he struggles to even give Slipstream orders to take the Seekers and guard the Nemesis. Time is a flat circle. As he falls to his knees in pain, Starscream sees his opportunity and strikes, knocking his leader down with a thrown wingblade and unleashing a torrent of missiles before ending with a series of punches. As Megatron lies seemingly deactivated, Starscream declares his victory and leadership over the Decepticons, assuring them that he will lead them to victory. However, his moment of triumph is short-lived, as the sound of fighting alerts the Decepticons to the fact that the Autobots have broken into the base and are making their way straight to the control room.
Despite his earlier boast, Starscream is initially frozen with indecision until Shockwave observes he could set the room to self-destruct. Seizing the lifeline, Starscream agrees and orders everyone to evacuate to the Nemesis. When asked about the fallen Megatron, Starscream simply replies to "let him burn." The Decepticons flee as the Autobots fight through the last of the guards, arriving just as the control room explodes. With the control room destroyed, the only way to save Earth is to go after the engines themselves. Luckily, Optimus has already dispatched Wheeljack, Hot Rod, and Prowl to do just that. "You know the difference between you and me? I make this seat look good." Starscream and the others' return to the Nemesis is met with confusion when Megatron isn't with them, and Starscream's declaration that Megatron is "gone" and that he has taken over is met with a silent but furious glare from Soundwave. Before anything can happen, Shadow Striker manages to calm Soundwave's anger momentarily by warning him that it isn't the time for a confrontation before the Seeker orders all Decepticons recalled and the ship to take off.
As the Nemesis begins to rise, Wheeljack's team arrive at the planetary engines and manage to reverse them, sending the moon back into its proper orbit. Shockwave is alerted to this, but as he begins to inform Starscream he is interrupted by the door to the bridge opening: a smouldering, heavily damaged Megatron has returned!
Seething with rage, Megatron proceeds to silently yet savagely beat Starscream all the way from the bridge down to the main hangar bay, hurling the unfortunate Seeker against walls and through doors. Starscream's attempts to plead for forgiveness or mercy fall on deaf audio receptors, and Shockwave, Soundwave and Shadow Striker arrive just as Megatron prepares to blast Starscream with his fusion cannon. Starscream makes for the hangar doors, but is shot in the back with a blast powerful enough to be seen from outside. As Megatron approaches, the lights fade from the Seeker's optics. Contemplating the limp form of his former subordinate, Megatron silently drops him from the Nemesis before informing the watching Decepticons that, "We are done here."
Meanwhile, Optimus Prime makes a transmission to the people of Earth, assuring them that the threat has passed and reaffirming the Autobots' pledge to defend the Earth no matter what. Bumblebee is momentarily distracted when he notices an unknown figure observing them, but when he tries to point it out to Hot Rod, the mystery figure has already vanished
